I've only ever had the baguette rolls here, and they are fantastic. Towards the front of the counter, there's some pieces of papers with ingredients, you simply fill it in with your preferred order. The whole baguettes are huge. Can get a range of old school Italian meats (hot salami, proscuitto) my fav is the basil pesto and kalamata olives as well & swiss cheese. Service is very friendly, the old Italian guy quite talkative. My only pet peeve and downgrade is that they don't use gloves when making your sandwich, which is slighly offputting. Otherwise my review would be 4 stars.
This was one of my personal lunch favourites when I worked in the area. The idea is perfect - choose your fillings and the deli will make a roll for you full of delicious meats/cheeses/veg. We called it “deli roll”, I’m not sure what others call it but whatever it is called it’s delicious!

Continental Deli is not your typical deli. Tucked away in the Glenferrie Centre arcade opposite Woolworths. The half baguette rolls are to die for. Must try fillings: hot salami, prosciutto, mushroom, eggplant, basil pesto and capsicum pesto. Staff are always friendly, especially the old man. To avoid disappointment, ring to reserve your rolls with your choice of fillings as they sell out pretty fast!
I love this place. Great staff, great food, and some of the best subs around. They've got a good variety of lunch subs, and a bunch of options for takeaway dinner bits and pieces. Definitely worth a visit for a nice, inexpensive lunch.
This one is a little hidden gem. Their rolls are the best around here. You write your order down and pass it to them and they make it for you on the spot. Easy, cheap, and delicious!

Very satisfying lunch. I go there every time after uni. Gets busy over 12pm-2 pm and usually runs out of baguettes at 3pm.
The food is wholesome and full flavoured. Very reasonably priced and half baguettes starting at $7
Best baguettes around. This place is just a jem. The lunch baguettes are the best meal you can get for $6 bar none. They manage to use only the freshest and best ingredients around. There might be a little wait if you go there at lunch time as it gets very busy but more than worth it.
As a deli, they have some of the best food around but it's not as affordable as their baguettes, still not too bad.

Ordered a grazing box over the phone (generous small size $50) as well as some deli rolls for a lockdown picnic. We went with the recommendations and any likes/dislikes were accommodated. Standouts in the box were the brie and honeycomb, hummus, olives and prosciutto. Highly recommend! We shared these 2 boxes between 5 and didn't finish everything :)
The BEST deli sandwiches I’ve ever had. This is my go to lunch spot in Hawthorn. Lovely couple who own this place, and they produce absolute quality. This particular baguette had beautiful salami, goats cheese, and eggplant 🤤 Big portion too and only $10!! 👌🏾
Can't recommend Continental Deli enough. The platter was fresh, tasty and generous! We planned to eat this for dinner and ended up eating hours early as we just couldn't resist.

Fantastic family-run European deli. Large selection of quality meats, cheeses, breads, spreads, and other delicacies. They also serve the best sandwich in Melbourne. Their salami, goat cheese, capsicum, and eggplant sandwich brings me back every time I'm in the area. Their other sandwiches are likely among the best in the city, but I can't bring myself to order others as that one is SO good.
Having moved to Victoria from SA some short months back, I'm writing a review to share my warmest feelings for this family run shop. I first came across the storefront on my way out of a trip to woolworths and was taking a look through the cured meats window. The owner greeted me with a handful of prosciutto and demanded I ate it.
At the time, I didn't expect to be frequenting the shop as often as I am now to keep up with the demands of my home cooking, but after a few visits I've found the shop to be a bounty for rare finds and DOP italian product. Moving to Victoria, I feel blessed to have discovered such a gem near where I'm living run by good people who are passionate about the inventory that they sell.
I love the Continental Deli. I went nearly everyday in year 12 and was always greeted by a wonderful smile and chat about my day. I bought the baguette with Prosciutto, basil pesto, sun dried tomatoes and swiss cheese, and it was the best part of my day. Absolutely delicious! I highly highly recommend ❤️
