Canton Noodle House is a hidden gem: you could walk past 1000 times and not know it was there. Inside is reminiscent of 1960's Kowloon. Do not be dissuaded by appearances - the food is outstanding. Noodles of any type, wontons, noodle soups; any and all traditional Cantonese fare - whether listed on the menu or not - are specialties. The noodle soup base has a delicate combination style and the noodles are cooked to perfection. Serving sizes are as generous as the prices are reasonable. Service can be abrupt which in many respects adds to the charm and is understandable when you witness the volume of meals being pushed out of the kitchen and through the dining room to hungry diners. Well worth a visit.

Very authentic cantonese dish that reminds me back home in Hong Kong.
The wontons were filled with chunky meat, not mince, different but delicious. The sweet and sour pork is standard, could be a bit meatier. The barbecue meat comb was a bit small, most of the chicken pieces were boney.
The fujian fried rice was on the salty side but was acceptable.

Was a good feed.

Beef brisket was average as the sauce didn't marinate long enough. However the wontons are great! Overall a good place to get your dose of Chinese noodles.

Because today was a cloudy day, I went to try Canton Noodle House.  I was a bit apprehensive in visiting the place as posters are all in Chinese characters.  But anyway, I came in with a pram.  Amazingly, the place looks big enough to accommodate 3 more prams.  Who would have thought?  And oh they have a second level seating.  The first level area could only seat around 6 tables.  Luckily, they have a English menu and the lady in charge was very accommodating.  Fast and friendly.  I got the chicken noodle soup.  I didn't wait long for my order.  As I said, everybody who is working at the restaurant were all busy but moved quickly.  I noticed that the dine-in servings were a bit small so I was pleasantly surprised to see my take-away to be big.  The bub and I were so happy with our soup.  Hopefully it will cure our flu.  Taste and price are perfectly spot-on.

I've only been there once but am looking forward to going back - we ate in the main dining room upstairs - the decor is very basic, the menu items on the walls are in Chinese, and the diners are all Asian - I could just as well be in Hong Kong. Highlights for me were the Shantung Chicken and the Beef Noodles with Silky Egg Sauce (I forget what it's called exactly on the menu). Great food, generous serves, very affordable prices - my personal trifecta.

Your standard Hong Kong eatery. Interior isn't flash however it's too cantonese food. Best 'water dumplings' in the area with soup. Go for 'fook geen tsow fan' (combination seafood fried rice with duck) too.

Delicious chinese style food for a very good price.

Calling themselves a 'noodle house', i had to try their noodle soup. I ordered the beef tendon noodle soup with added wontons. My friend and i also ordered deep fried pork with salt/pepper, combination chow mein and a beef and egg noodle dish to share. The broth was light but delicious, the noodles were cooked perfectly, the tendon was nice and gelatinous and the wontons were really good. An added bonus is that the dumplings and wontons are made in house (pretty sure) as i saw a lady handmaking them. The noodle dish alone is only $12, great deal for what you get.

The salt pepper pork was crispy with a good amount of spice/seasoning and not too much grease while still being juicy. The combination chow was standard and the beef and egg dish was good for what it is. The highlight was the noodle soup - fantastic. I must also mention the food came out really quick. Props to the chefs for such efficiency. The only downside of my experience was this one waiter who was constantly staring at us in a weird and paranoid manner.

I've been coming here (frighteningly!) for 20 years. It's very basic, but the noodle soups are the best I've had anywhere in the world. We moved away from Hurstville many years ago, but still make the southbound treck for this great little restaurant. Keep it simple when ordering, avoid the "western" choices, and you won't be disappointed. Finally had the chance to sit downstairs last week, felt like we'd finally become CAN royalty!

MY FAVOURITE LOCAL CHINESE TAKE AWAY! I have been frequenting Canton Noodle House for 15 years and the quality of food has been consistent each and every time! Honorable mentions go to their Wonton egg noddle soup, salt and pepper prawns and squid, mixed seafood laksa, and their chicken chow mein. Just divine !

Amazing food. Large servings. Chicken wings, combination laksa, steamed dumplings, and salt and pepper squid by far the best dishes. Bit salty though so make sure you have plenty of water after

Authentic and delicious Cantonese food. The flavours are lightly sweet, mild, fresh, and natural (somewhat similar to Vietnamese food). Service is friendly and efficient. I love everything from the menu. Card payment is available, but with our recent visit, they only accepted cash payment. Therefore make sure you have some cash as well.

Been going here for many years now to curb our won ton/ noodle /congee cravings. You will see them wrapping their wonton/gow gee dumplings fresh daily and each morsel have a decent mouthful of prawn in each too.

Food is always good. Combination chow mein is my favourite. Pretty ordinary decor but the food makes up for it.

Hokkien Fried Rice. Pretty tasty. Cook with bbq duck instead of bbq pork so slight more expensive compared with normal Hokkien fires rice. The portion is very big.

I went for lunch just to have the wonton soup as people raved about it. It was OK I certainly wouldn't rate it over average. The wontons were large with pork and a piece of prawn but I thought no unami. Egg Noodles delicious broth was not that great. But the dishes I saw coming out looked and smelled fabulous. Like crab with noodles omg the smell was amazing. I'd definitely come again to try the actual dishes and I loved that you go upstairs and it's a cool traditional atmosphere. Service was awesome but cash only guys!
