This Argentinian restaurant is a hidden gem in a small laneway in Melbourne, the decor, furniture, interior design, the open kitchen, even the front entrance impressed us.
Full points to the wait staff for service, a very extensive wine list and ample authentic menu.
Our waitress was Argentinian, we sat by the wall of wine bottles, the restaurant was full and had to raise our voices a little to be heard across the table but I think that’s a good thing.
All the dishes are for sharing, the cured meat plate, the curitzo, lamb ribs, and sirloin strips to name a few...
We ate and drank well and left feeling quite satisfied, every dish was a winner and was great value for money.
My husband and I had dinner on April 25th (Anzac Day) at San Telmo. We had no reservations and the place was full. We decided to wait and go for a drink on the rooftop bar opposite San Telmo. Later on there was a table available at San Telmo and once we sat at our table, we were greeted by a warm/nice/friendly waiter called Raphael. He explained to us the menu and gave us some advice. The food was excellent and the timing was perfect. We ordered many dishes and each one was so tasty and different.
The staff was professional and friendly.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
I wish that there was a San Telmo in Sydney!
We love the food scene in Melbourne.
I feel like writing one of those reviews that are so positive that people wouldn’t take it seriously. But I honestly can’t recommend this place highly enough.
Best meal I’ve had in at least 2 years and I eat at restaurants quite often.
I don’t think there’s anything on the menu that I wouldn’t eat.
The meats are phenomenal.
Essentially they could charge twice what they do and I’d still come back.
Bravo.
