Dumplings here are the best in MELBOURNE... Served on a long plate of 12 is the best entree before you tuck into a main meal.. I had an amazing 'spiced beef soup' which was a hit when your in the middle of a Melbourne winter... A must when your in the Melbourne CDB.. A personal fav.
My score 3.5 stars (avge of 2 visits). J picked up takeaway dinner from here on Sat 30th May. Spring onion pancake ($5.20) – Was ok, but not heaps of spring onion (a common thing at many places). Kung Pao tofu ($17.80) – Spicy, nice tofu, lots of peanuts. Eggplant in Spicy garlic sauce ($17.80) – Heaps of soft yummy eggplant, spicy but quite vinegary (marks off). Overall quite oily (marks off). Got a bit stodgy by the end but would have been ok if sharing with a larger group of people.
Aug 2019. Staff absolutely lovely. Place really quiet (music low), good acoustics, comfy, clean. J got Spinach noodle soup with vegetables ($11.80) - Piping hot. Broccoli, carrot, sesame seeds, snow peas, Chinese broccoli and spring onions all good. Zucchini was a bit watery. Nice stock (maybe a little mild). Spinach noodles had a nice bite to them. She spruced it up with some chilli oil and vinegar – making it into a very tasty hot and sour noodle soup.
Comfortable atmosphere and the fried rice is excellent
