It's been about 5-6 years since I've been to QVM. I used to go weekly back in the late 90's early 00's and every time I go there I have to have a bratwurst. Today's was awesome, I had one and finished my partners as she could only eat 3/4. I almost bought another one about 4 hours later when I was leaving the city. I'll be back sooner than 5 years next time.
Best hot dog in town !!! Heaven couldn't taste that good!!!
The spicy bratwurst is my go-to order. It's so well-seasoned and juicy - especially when served piping hot👌🏻I always pair it with cheese, tomato relish and extra hot sauce as the bratwurst was mild in heat. The only letdown was the bread roll as it was quite tough. Also would have rated this higher if the bread was toasted. Nevertheless, the delicious bratwurst made up for it 🤤Definitely one of the best food stalls here in QVM!
What's not to love about a sausage in a roll, especially when it has German flavours. A step up from your typical Bunnings snag, Bratwurst Shop has a delicious range of bratwursts with your choice of condiments. The lines here get long, as they are that popular.
We had a spicy sausage with mustard and sauerkraut and it was absolutely delicious. The sausage was seasoned well, nice and juicy and had a lot of heat. The roll itself was crunchy and fresh, and the sauerkraut added that nice salty tang.
The staff were chatty and pleasant and the roll is made in mere minutes. Definitely one of our first stops at the market, Bratwurst Shop is popular with locals for very good reason. Simple things done well will always keep me coming back.
Go for the white pork sausage in a white roll with onions, always great, always worth a nibble on if you’re in the vicinity of the QVM.
The food was amazing but there was ONE rude staff there (the bald guy). I simply asked what kind of sauces they have, and he replied "Don't you read our sign?". I asked because I did not know that they have a sign for sauces, duhhh. I ordered a Cheese Bratwurst (which was absolutely delicious), but no condiments exept for ketchup and mustard, and the guy gave me a very judging look. I was not happy at all, but thankfully the food was enjoyable.
The brats here are massive, delicious and so affordable! Highly recommend the spicy brat - it's my go to! Add some ketchup, mustard and maybe some cheese or relish if you're feeling it and you cannot go wrong!
Incredibly flavourful wursts with just the right amount of crispiness. Bread roll is pretty hard but pairs well with the wurst, and also doesn’t get soggy from the fillings and sauce
Hearty German sausage. Would normally order the spicy one with sauerkraut and onion on top. Quick and delicious market lunch meal after shopping. Recommended!
Queen victoria market is one of my favourite places to go in melbourne, and this place is a highlight every time. I get time to go to the market on saturday or sunday and every time I go there I find long queues.
Price wise this place is alright, you pay $7.20 for all the basic sausage roll with sauerkraut and 2 sauces and you pay $.80 for every additional topping. After eating the roll I always get the feeling of money well spent.
You just take one bite and you realise that they take the sausage very seriously. It is juicy, has an amazing texture and the flavour is just spot on. It hits a sweet spot on your pallate and you end up wanting more after you finish it.
There are heaps of sauces to choose from and you have an option to choose from sauerkraut and onions (go for sauerkraut everytime). The variety of sausage flavours is really good as well.
So this place is a really good option to try if you are near queen victoria market.

Far from the “Wurst”. Featured in Zomato’s cheap eats collection, The bratwurst shop & co is definitely a crowd pleaser and is always chockers. Seriously, how can you not be enticed with the sound and smell of sizzling bratwursts with caramelised onions, its music to anyone’s ears😍

Long weekend queue, but service was brisk! I ordered it with cheese and asked for mustard and tomato sauce. The sausage was piping hot and delicious. I wished the bread was slightly warmer and crispier. Otherwise, good lunch alternative at $8 each!
Pretty good sausages. They have a lot of condiments and extras you can pick, even some coffee as well while you wait. They're very filling bratwurst and super tasty.
The last few times I visited the city I discovered the market was closed on Wednesdays. One of the main reasons I made sure I was there on a Thursday this week was to get one of these bad boys! Delicious! First time having it with cheese, but a welcome addition. Can't wait to come back for more!
I ordered the chicken and mushroom bratwurst with onion, sauerkraut and cheese which was delicious. The bratwurst had a crispy skin and the meat was really juicy. Fantastic place for a good bite.
One of the best cheap eats you can get at QVM. Less than $8, they accept CC and you can choose any condiments & sauces; sauerkraut, jalapeños, cheese, onions, mustard, ketchup, etc). M go to choice here is the cheesy bratwurst or spicy version.
Visited the markets pretty late in the afternoon and stumbled upon this nice shop. Good service quick and efficient. Love it will visit again soon ♥️♥️♥️
Very filling and tasty hot dog!
Sausage was a bit spicy and I loved it xx
Price is great, located in the Market,
Recommend this place :)
Was really yummy! Huge portion. I just wished the lady piled everything properly. Too messy to eat.
What a delightful place to get a bite. Have been here a few times since I’ve been in Melbourne and every time does not disappoint. Latest visit I also brought a range of bratwursts for a bbq at home and they were very popular with the guests. Had also messaged them a few questions on Facebook messenger and they always responded promptly and politely. 5 stars!
