Tasty dumplings, xiao long bao, sheng Jian bao, were all amazing! And quite big as well. Soupy.

Best soup dumplings I’ve had in Melbourne so far! This place is always packed around lunch time on every day of the week and for good reason. Our favourites are the pork soup dumplings, crab meat soup dumplings and fried dumplings, which I find are very similar to the ones I love in Shanghai. The noodles are also very delicious.
Of course, everyone has personal preferences when it comes to soup dumplings, from texture and thickness of the skin, to the flavour of the fillings, the ones here are definitely worth a try 😊
Also love that service is very fast!
I love to have some juicy hot dumplings and I have not found a place that serves better pork dumplings than Shanghai Dragon dumplings. They are the best tasting and the best value for money that I have found till now. Shanghai dragon dumplings is located on Russel Street, just next to hungry jacks. It has a small seating area and you might need to wait before getting a table as this place is always very busy. I ordered steam pork dumplings, pork dumplings in chili oil soup and Chicken dumplings and Deep-fried chicken with hot chili. Both varieties of pork dumplings cost $9.80 and have 15 dumplings each. That is a huge amount of dumplings for this price.
Amazing dumplings is what you get at this place! Love how they are made freshly and the texture of the dumplings is so good. Love the amazing variety on the menu as well.

Food is nice and awesome. Pretty good and worth with the price. I like the restaurant quality of the food. However, the place is really tight and i dont really like their customer service. Might come here again for the food and wont expect too much on their customer services.
All vegetarian options today. Vegetable dumplings are better than Shanghai street one. Shanghai fried noodle is originally pork & vegetables, but we ordered vegetarian option. Still good. I always love the smell of the noodles. Vegetable fried rice was very basic but still yummy. Probably frozen vegetables bags from woolies or aldi, one egg, rice and a bit of salt and most likely msg. Yum
The last one is dessert named "sesame red bean cakes"
That was absolutely amazing. I loved it!
So I took one to eat at home with some soda, probably reheat it later.
Even though the food was great and the service was good we wont go back there again simply because it is too small and uncomfortable seating arrangements. Maybe take away only.

4 stars for the food. Sometimes i even go here by myself just because i miss it so much. I love their vegetarian spring onion pancake and of course their xiao long bao 💜 their pancake is the best in Melb 💜💜
Found this by chance just walking by, did not regret trying it out!
We got the Traditional Pork Xiao Long Bao, Pan fried mini pork buns and pork dumplings in hot and sour soup.
The xiao long bao and pan fried pork buns were soooo good!!! Filled with yummy juices and very fresh. Will defiantly be back for more, soon!
However, the pork dumplings were a huge disappointment, the skin was really thick and hard, and the filling was meh. The hot and sour soup was nothing special either, could be more spicy and deeper in flavor.
Despite and disappointing dumplings I’m still giving this place 4 stars, just cos the xiao long bao were so delicious.
Shanghai Dragon Dumpling House is definitely known for their assortment of dumplings but also serve up other great dishes. The restaurant is small but very cheerful. Prices are reasonable and food is delicious. Would recommend. Homemade Traditional Pork Xiao Long Bao (8pcs) $8.60. Generous amount of soup in these XLB. Good flavour ★★★☆
I believe this to be one of the gems of chinese food in Melbourne. Recently renovated to imprpve their interior fixtures. Service is great and efficient, nothing to fault 5/5.
Food was amazing. We ordered the xiao long bao, pan fried dumplings and a beancurd vermcelli soup. All three dishes were impeccable. The value is insane. 8 xiao long baos for $8.60. Beautiful juices and did not stick to the steamer! 5/5 for food.
Ambiance was slightly stuffy this time as they are small but did not turn on the aircon which limited airflow in the restaurant. Would be perfect if it was on, but without it 3/5.
Overall amazing place, definitely a staple in my diet, cant wait to return.
Staff Service and attitude here is disgusting minus 0/5, they will challenge you for just being there right from the get go, whatever u ask for they will grunt or grease you off with their eyes, they obviously freaken hate being there, but I'm not here to review the staff, I'm here to review the dumplings..!
Dumplings here are juicy, piping hot, no frills fresh dumplings!
It is excellent pricing for the quality and quantity, it is easily top 3 in city in terms of pure dumplings.
Delicious authentic Chinese dumplings and noodles. Fast and friendly service. Absolutely amazing. Great value menu!
Very good dumplings. In great value. We highly recommend wt we have tried: the crab xiaolongbao and chicken prawn dumplings. The pan fried buns are also nice. Super juicy and savoury.
