I don't know about the overall 2.8 rating ,I personally loved the food here, tried the Nachos and Ensalada and the flan and loved all 3,the char grilled corn and enchiladas were delicious as well... You do get quite a few vegetarian options which is nice..loved the place , will go again
Having tried a few Mexican places around the city, we were quite impressed by this slightly hidden Taco Bill.
Ingredients were definately really fresh and tasty, all cooked brilliantly and cannot beat a jug of their $6 punch!
Good Mexican dine in place in CBD, tried there lunch deal with Nachos supreme, enchiladas and a taco shell, worth the money.
Stuffed Jalapenos was good, but could have been better.
My wife introduced me to Taco Bill several years ago. I have loved each one I have been to since. I found myself alone in Melbourne and in need of sustenance, so I thought I would check this one out. A bit crowded and noisy, but the usual good food at a reasonable price. Another TBs worth going to.

Had my birthday dinner at Taco Bill early this year mainly because of their flexibility for split bills. More businesses need to realise that in a group of 25 people, join bills is actually a nightmare.
The food was great too. Mostly everybody loved their meals and walked out quite full.
My only and biggest problem with Taco Bill was the staff. While it’s amazing and necessary to be multicultural, it’s important for the business to make sure that their staff understand and can be understood. Most of us REALLY struggled to speak to the staff and even to place the order. That ruined my overall experience.
I love the food here, I land up visiting every alternate week. Have tried tacos, quesdillas, fajita and enchilada everything is lovely and yes cannot forget the complimentary nachos and salsa. The staff is very warm and friendly. I love this place.
I came to the Collins St branch for dinner with my Taco Bill obsessed friend and was pleased to find one of the more vibrant spaces in the TB chain (not to be confused with tuberculosis, this is a much more enjoyable TB). The interior was as bright and colourful as the food with plenty of atmosphere. Our food was served swiftly and was reasonably priced. My friend ordered the Mexican punch which I personally thought was a bit artificial tasting but she loves it and gets it every time. The idea of coming here and not drinking mango margaritas is preposterous to me so deliciously down the hatch they went. This is westernised Mexican food that shouldn't be compared with more trendy and authentic modern eateries such as Mamasita etc. But I think there's still a place for cheesy cheese nachos with plenty of sour cream and guacamole 👌🏽
Taco Bill is on Collins st in city between Queen and William st. They have been really popular with the after work crowd and students for some time. They have a great happy hour, lunch and dinner specials here and they are always changing from time to time. RNIS bought a Groupon for $20 for $40 to spend and they decided to come for a mid week dinner. We knew we had to book ahead as it is only a small restaurant and it gets busy quickly.

Didn't expect a lot but the staff we're friendly and the food tasted good so that is all that matters. I couldn't finish my plate and I'm a fat mess so you won't go hungry. Try the Dos Equis Lager beer, v good!
I decided on a chicken enchilada. I’ve never had an enchilada before so I didn’t know what to expect but it didn’t disappoint. It also came with a serve of rice and a taco. For some reason I didn’t expect the taco (I might not have chosen it if I had, because of the taco shell) although it mentions it on the menu. That being said it was quite good, considering I never eat hard shell tacos (never) and I ate the whole thing. The chicken was lovely and soft and tasted delicious. As for the enchilada, the cheese sauce was so gooey and tasty and I mixed it with everything. It was slightly crispy but also soft and overall a good meal.

Love this place. Yes, this is my first time trying Mexican food. And I can’t go wrong with this place. Great atmosphere and Good food. Who’s a big fan of Mexican food? You will definitely like this restaurant.

One of the staff members ‘TJ’ was very friendly, even offered us shots if we were celebrating but unfortunately wasn’t my birthday … yet!!

I had the lunch special with a bit of everything and is available Monday to Thursday 12-2pm. Although not appealing to the eye, it was still very tasty.
The lunch special is priced at $15 for a main and a drink, which is extremely good value.
Without the lunch special, burritos are normally $26 here. It’s pretty hard to justify spending $26 on a burrito.

situated on collin st, these guys are a short (very short) flight of stairs down from the entrance - i dont recall if there was any lifts so please note for any persons with disability access issues
great spot for casual night out with mates, celebrations, and great for the family too!

I thought it would be a good idea to have Mexican food for dinner, so we went to Taco Bills for fish tacos!!! Yum. First we started off with nachos which were so cheesy and delicious! We also ordered fish tacos and combination bowl. Both were really good.
Had the slow cooked beef burrito. It tasted fantastic! Full of flavour, beef was soft and tender.
But the portion size was pretty small, I would have expected something a lot larger for the $26 I paid.
