Hands up if you’d have the chef invite your children into the kitchen to help so the grown ups can drink the $6 6th anniversary Prosecco... at 9am? Me neither.
Well the two tall chefs (they are tall) did just that. The rest of the meal was just fantastic really, beautiful eggs and toast all round and the schnitzel was definitely a hit (says the 2 Hungarians I was dining with).
After we polished that off, there was of course, the cheese shop / deli. Had a good selection and we bought some to take home; they were happy to let me taste all of them and I was definitely pleased with my choices. I can’t say I would’ve picked American cheese but hey you have to try.
Two thumbs up (from the kids) and bottoms up (from the adults). Will come back on Thursday to Saturday for dinner!
Two Tall Chefs served modern Australian/brunch and dinner food with a bit of an edge. Located in a cheese shop, it looked nothing like a cafe/restaurant from the outside. However, inside it was cozy and homely with delicious, elegant-looking food such as the Sumac crusted egg and Pork belly with potato rosti we ordered. Service was great also; there was a slight issue with my meal and they were happy to replaced it. Next is trying their dinner menu!
Best steak sandwich I have ever tasted!!!!! Dine in or relax in the backyard beer garden. Service was so delightful ☺️ coffee hits the spot. Would highly recommend!
Stumbled across this little treasure. Amazing food and the wait staff were amazing. Homely, inviting and just simply incredible. Great wine list and the food was beautiful. Prawn linguini and wow! What a cheese selection.
Food is very good and the menu has a lot of different types of very good food. I shared the poached chicken salad, the poached egg hash brown and the grilled halloumi. The serving sizes of the food are quite decent and one dish can easily satisfy you enough. The service is good too.
Just moved into the neighbourhood and came here for lunch the other day. The menu looks great, however I opted for their special which was a delicious lentil soup and chargrilled bread. The flavour was spot on and there were delicious bits of chorizo in there that I absolutely loved! They also have a good selection of wine and cheese for sale so naturally I left with some goodies to take home as well. Will definitely be back!
One of my absolute favourite brunch/lunch spots in Melbourne.
The space inside is beautiful, warm and welcoming and on a warm day there is a lovely quiet spot out the back to laze away your afternoon.
Staff are always friendly and knowledgable.
The food is amazing. Have been coming here for a while now and have yet to have anything that disappoints. Honest and delicious food and a great drinks list. PLUS a ridiculous selections of cheese and cured meat.Todays special, half roast duck, kipfler potatoes with spinach. 10/10
Always a great experience
Staff are so lovely and knowledgeable, if you are lucky the chef will come out for a chat with you
Great selection of cheeses
Food is amazing! The gnocchi is my pick
Good deletion of local beers
Would highly recommend
Great menu and lovely staff! Really good for a quick lunch or a longer dinner. It's also a cheese shop which is handy if you'd like to pick up some cheese afterwards.
Our dining experience at Two Tall Chefs was nothing short of superb I really can't rate our food better then exquisite the service was top notch and super friendly, great atmosphere with some fantastic tunes playing at just the right level so as not to bother but keeping our conversations and other diners private. The chef Monte although very busy still managed to mingle a little bit checking on customers and his suggestion on wine to accompany our meal was spot on. My partner and I arrived prior to midday for a brunch of what we thought was going to be coffee, omelette and such not ever being to or knowing about this place we had a great coffee and Chai tea (superb) and perusing the Menu our appetite suddenly changed, we both settled on Veal Scallopini and were just blown away with it. Definitely did not want it to end, but even with the generous serving ahh alas it did as all great things do come to an end. We were full but a recommendation from our waitress for a dessert has us ordering passionfruit souffle with vanilla ice cream and we were so glad we did ..delicious! It was accompanied with a lemon schnapps perfect! We were also pleasantly surprised with our bill. This place has just ticked all the box's, our only complaint is its not opened today (Monday) and we fly out this evening, so our little find will have to wait for our return visit to what has become our favourite city in Australia but we will spread the word to our friends you can be assured of that. Two Tall Chefs a superb family run restaurant /cafe
