Great location with stunning views of the Yarra and South Bank. Staff was very nice and service was quick. They have daily specials, at reasonable prices. Scored a Parmigiana with wine at $20! Food was prepared fresh to order and delicious with a good portion size. Highly recommend eating and drinking here! I’ll be back.

We went to The Wharf Hotel for their igloo dinner experience. It was a fun, intimate dinner where you shared snack/food platters and drinks with friends in a cosy (although freezing cold!) plastic igloo. It was beautifully decorated inside the igloo with fairy lights and modern decor, and the food platters that we ordered were surprisingly above expectations; pork belly was tender, chicken ribs were crispy, calamari was fresh. Service was friendly, although once you were inside the igloo it was so hard to get staff’s attention. Overall, very happy with our dinner experience.

We booked in a table for 7, to celebrate a special occasion and we were all excited, to celebrate with such a good view. We ordered drinks and food and to our surprise we found WORM in our salad which was ordered along with eggplant parma. We were so disgusted at the site of worm in our food and unfortunately few of our friends already had a few bite of salad.Cannot describe what we felt afterwards.
We didn’t want to create a chaos, so we requested the staff to call the duty manager at our table.
Manager came to our table, to address the situation. We explained him the whole situation and asked him if this happened any time or how this can be avoided in future. The reply we get, it is expected in this industry and the worm was found from lettuce, which might have not been washed. We do know, sometime things like this do happen, but what surprised us more was how at no stage the manager was unapologetic. Even though we were offered refund for the food served on the table, but this does not justify what happened to us, how it can be avoided in future and how we felt. The site of food disgusted us and we left from there.
Despite of the location and lovely staff, we have to leave such a feedback due to the behaviour of the duty manager.

Came here for the Winter Wonderland experience on a Saturday afternoon. It was fifty something dollars a head and comes with 2 drinks per person and a decent amount of the food. The lowlight was definitely the fish, it was tiny as and would rather substitute for something else if they were going to serve such a tiny dish. The felafels were also pretty dry, wouldn’t eat that again. Everything else was so yummy though, especially the baked Brie. Overall, it was a fun experience, although I wouldn’t do it multiple times.

The igloo experience was amazing. It was a beautiful atmosphere and the food was not just delicious, but there was a ridiculously large amount. The staff were great and very attentive. Shout out to Beyonce who made our night. Would highly recommend. The experience was so worth it.

Staff are really friendly, but we were quite disappointed by the food. It has a nice setup but I wouldn’t recommend to come here for a meal.

We loved our igloo experience. The food was fabulous, the service was excellent and we were cozy warm. Great view over the yarra. Thanks to Chris and Nakita for looking after us so well.

Had a friends get together and I absolutely loved everything about here. Amazing service, location also food was great. Prawn pizza was too good. Perfect place for get together.

Location, location, location! Fantastic views and outside section. Have only had drinks at the wharf but if I had to vote on the food everyone around me was eating = big thumbs up. The platters look delicious.

The staff at wharf hotel were friendly, and the igloo events was pretty awesome. The food/drink that came with the booking was definitely worth the cost, which was something that had concerned us prior. The food was really tasty and there was such a variety. The calamari did come out quite cold but other than that, it was an enjoyable experience!

Food tasted decent, however waited over an hour for our food. Considering it wasn’t busy this is simply not acceptable. It shouldn’t take a hour to make a food platter.

Once again we chose this venue due to its value proposition being in the entertainment book. Great place for after work drinks but with volumes bordering on nightclub decibels I certainly wouldn't bring a date there. As usual the menu featured all your standard pub fare, although my spiced calamari entree was exceptional. There was almost a sweet element to the salt on it which was something quite different from your standard lemon pepper calamari, delicious <br/><br/>Update<br/>We chose this venue essentially as it was in the entertainment book and because it’s great in summer with the water view and jugs of pimms aplenty. I decided to indulge with the cheese and garlic pizza to start with which was a superb choice. I ended up quite full from this owing to the fact I’d eaten not long before arriving so went straight to dessert.<br/><br/>They used to do cute little desserts in mason jars which are sadly no longer. The current options are ok but bring back the jars I say. Regardless I was happy enough with the pizza and pimms. As soon as you work out how to get here you’ll always come back to this huge central space on the Yarra (confusing access from a side street as the frontage is water facing). <br/><br/>Original review<br/>Came here tonight for dinner to catch up with some friends who were in Melbourne to attend the Australian Open. Having been here before I chose it as I knew they would have the tennis playing on their large screens outside and being a nice sunny day it would be a great atmosphere having a drink by the water. As there was 13 of us they sat us in the private dining room which was pretty cool but as nice as the live music is it was a bit loud and we struggled to hear each other speaking at times. <br/><br/>There was a basil pesto linguine on the menu and a prawn linguini so I asked if I could have the basil pesto linguini with prawns but I was told no there is a prawn shortage so we can't add prawns. I then asked if I could order the prawn linguini and add the basil pesto and was told yes for an extra $3. I found that to be pretty ridiculous but I enjoyed it regardless although it was a little too oily as pesto tends to be.

We tried the winter igloos this weekend and it was pretty awesome. We loved the atmosphere and the food for what it was worth was pretty fair. I can’t say it was gourmet, however it was definitely generous and filling. We also ordered the cider and rose which was perfect. The only complaint would be that we were a bit cold. <br/><br/>The staff were great were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend trying this experience before it ends.

🔸Environment 4/5<br/><br/>Came for the Igloo wonderland but it was a little disappointed! Not very well decorated inside the igloo and a bit cool there( no heater) <br/><br/>🔸 Food 3/5 <br/>$49/per person with set Menu. Only 3 options - meat/ Veg/ gluten -free platter. We ordered the Belly warming platter with Chicken ribs, pork dumplings, veg Spring rolls, fried calamari, pork belly and some dip in veggies. It’s not very full fulfilled! With 1 plate shared between 4 people.<br/><br/>🔸Service 4/5 <br/>Maybe because we sit outside therefore there wasn’t always someone to help us but it is understandable. The staff there was nice and friendly!

I didn’t want to be harsh and give it 1 but I feel that 2 is a little generous. We did the winter igloo experience for my sister-in-laws birthday and to be honest it was a very lack luster experience. The igloo from the outside was beautiful and when we got inside it seemed quite magical. The seats for some of us were comfortable but for others we not. Then when we went to order the drinks supplied we were told that some of the options were either running low or gone from a party the night before. The food we were offered gluten free options and dairy free and the platters were clearly not compliant with either of these requirements and made both of us with allergies unwell the following day. The other platter for everyone else came out cold to begin with and the flavour wasn’t exciting. The only two goods from the night were the spiced mulled cider that they ran out of and the chocolate tart (that we took in ourselves). The view was looking at their bar which was a bit disappointing considering we were on the edge of the Yarra. The waitress clearly didn’t want to be there and so we had to keep going inside to get service. The music was quite loud outside the igloo which meant that it was challenging to hear what each other was saying at points. I wouldn’t recommend unless you’re happy to throw $50 each away on a night out in a plastic igloo that you could’ve spent on so many other things.
Jess_foodie
Went there with the family. Honestly speaking, i Would prefer if they Had Maybe soft music playing in the background so we can get more of the Feel. Staff were nice and polite, often coming down to check up on us. Food was just a little above average. With the platter we got and paying $49 per person. We also got a bottle of cab shiraz,a pot of warm cider.<br/>In Regards to price, I think its not as worth it as I know what are the costings. BUT i believe it is worth trying it out and having the experience of hanging out in an inflated igloo especially with friends or family, best part is that it is pet friendly! So got our dogs there to spend quality time too!<br/><br/>#winterwonderlandfeels especially now when its sooo cold.

Wharf hotel hosts the Docklands version of the igloos - which is a nice (and closer!) alternative to Flinders St. <br/><br/>Ordered:<br/>🍱 The belly warming platter: Flatbread, dips & pickled veggies, fried calamari & lemon wasabi aioli, pork & chive dumplings, chicken ribs with sriracha plum sauce, pork belly in chilli caramel sauce, veggie spring rolls ($49.00pp)<br/>(FYI: vegetarian or gluten free options available!)<br/><br/>Review:<br/>The food was pretty good. There's a lot of options and what stood out to me was the pork belly. Tender and thick, these chunks were a bit intense to eat as finger food (perhaps cut it smaler?) but really delicious. <br/><br/>You can't go wrong with fried calamari or pork dumplings. The latter kind of blew everyone's mind... who ever thought about dumplings as finger food? It was light and was a perfect complement to a relaxing atmosphere. <br/><br/>The veggie spring rolls made me laugh. There seemed to be no filling and each bite would be like biting into plain fried wrapping. Don't really rate this one. <br/><br/>In regards to the atmosphere, the pictures on the Wharf Hotel make it look really nice. Overlooking the river as the sun sets. Silly us - we forgot we were in Melbourne. The sun sets at around 5pm and with work finishing at 5:30pm, the pitch black isn't exactly memorable.

We had a private room because The Wharf Hotel forgot to book us in. It turned out pretty well as there was 15 of us, so it wasn’t too loud and we could hear each other. It was very cosy! The service was great and the food was delicious! Especially the porterhouse steak with salad and chips, for just $22, I don’t think you can get anything better than that! 😁👍🏻

Price per person for the Igloo is a bit steep I believe. The concept itself is lovely especially at night, I would imagine. Four of us booked in for lunch in a sunny day. Ordered the Wharf platter, quite disappointed at the food quality. Frozen dumplings you could buy from Chinese grocery stores, very blend spring rolls, Costco quality chicken wings, four cubes of 3 cm x 3cm x 3 cm very dry pork belly and some soggy squid. With some warm cider, we paid $49 per person, a total of $196. I won't recommend anyone coming here for food. Sure, if you would like some nice pictures on Instagram then maybe. The bright side is, the waiter was really attentive and friendly.

Had lunch here during our lunch break.<br/><br/>Nice food with nice views. Close to South Wharf DFO for some retail therapy after.<br/><br/>Generous serving sizes. Lots of flavour. Friendly staff.<br/><br/>

<br/>Had a great afternoon here at The Wharf hotel in Melbourne. The igloo concept is a great one and although it was cold and rainy outside it was warm and comfy in the igloo. The food platters were great and the wine flowed beautifully. The service from the team at the Wharf was exceptional. The only thing I could critique would be the two hours your allowed probably is to short as by the time you all settle in and eat it’s time to leave. All in all it was a great concept thou.

3.5 ⭐️ Everyone tells me that the pizza is really good in The Wharf Hotel and last time I came, it was a disaster, so I was not very willing to try this place again.<br/><br/>Surprisingly, this time the pizza was quite delish! I ordered the salami pizza and the margarita pizza. My hubby felt that the salami pizza could have more salami though. And I felt the wait was quite long for the pizza. Otherwise a good find.<br/>

Awesome father's day lunch today! Service was friendly and food was really good. Nice buzzy ambiance. Venue catered dietary requirements no problem :)

Don’t you love it when it’s freezing outside but you are warm inside during winter? Even better when it’s inside an ‘igloo’! We shared some giant platters of food, washed down with some cocktails next to the riverbank with some great company. Perfect way to end the weekend. Highlights: watching the world go by from warmth inside igloo, eating and drinking. The breads were delicious and food was plentiful. Lowlights: the food got cold super quickly, almost if they were just reheated?

After work drinks at its finest.. <br/>great service, quick & friendly. Happy hour on a Friday makes it the perfect meetimg spot after work. <br/>The igloo’s look amazing there till end of September so will have to try get in.

Great attentive service today as part of our Red Balloon experience. Lovely cocktails and meals. Will certainly be back! What a find :) Thanks everyone.

Decided to try The Wharf Hotel today as I have walked past many times and the vibes are always very pleasant with people casually drinking, the heaters burning and sport playing on the projector just next to the river. Unfortunately while the atmosphere is great, the food was regular and we had to wait 1 hour for a pizza and side tacos. It seems that other groups were also frustrated with the long food wait, with the table next to ours having to chase down their food after 45min since ordering. The staff apologised and provided a full refund with our meal which was a nice gesture.

Go here quite often and it's always full and now they have these igloo things. Well I don't think I'll sit in them as the missus might want a ring on it but if I were to put one on her finger that's where it will happen. Sunday sesh with a few mates though I'm gonna stick to for now. We had their big platter and it's damn good and the boys got pizzas too. I think they changed cooks though cause the pizza now real tasty and all the food comes out real quick. Don't lose this cook he or she is doing a bang up job and you are winning as are we. Four big thumbs up see you all in few weeks boyzz

Came in with family for a birthday the place was popping. Had no idea the pub was even here till Saturday and now I know it's there I'll frequent it. Steaks big and juicy loads of sides and the pepper sauce really bloody good my mates burger I'm gonna say better than hungry jacks lol but the bar I would have to say is not a bad place to go I shall return. Thanks guys you really made our night 👌👍👍<br/>

Came here on Thursday 29th March with a Red Balloon voucher. Food was average. However the gentleman who served us absolutely made our night. He served 6 tables at the same time and absolutely smashed it. We will be back because of him!

It has been a while since I have been here but decided to return and check out the menu as I work nearby.<br/>My friend and I both ordered the pulled pork burger and it really lacked flavour and was not even warm when served. The menu also stated the meal came with "kimchi" however I was served wombulk with chilli...I think someone forgot to ferment the "kimchi"? <br/>My othet friend had the pizza and he was happy with his meal.

The Wharf Hotel was the last stop we made on our post work Friday night cocktail crawl. This venue was packed when we arrived. A lot of people were milling around in the inside/outside area with its louvre windows, relaxed couches and large screen tv. We chose a table in the inside/ inside area near the bar. The interior is very much nautically themed and decked out. There was a seperate captains dinning room which looked like it was set up for a larger group of diners. Happy hour had finished but they did have a cocktails of the month board which had a couple we were happy to try. We ordered the Hazelnut Espresso Martini (supposedly made with hazelnut syrup) and a Moscow Mule. The hazelnut espresso didn't have a hazelnut taste so not sure if the syrup was overlooked. It tasted as a normal espresso martini would taste so no real complaints there. My Moscow Mule was a good solid drink. Again it didn't pack a strong ginger kick that I was anticipating. That might be a problem for those who really like ginger... but not so much of a problem for me. <br/><br/>They have an express lunch deal and seemed to have advertising everywhere for their pub app which is supposed to offer drink and dining specials. An app for everything these days it seems.

Very nice. We had been gifted a Red Balloon experience - Riverside 3 course Meal, cocktails & a bottle of wine. The food was good, as was the service. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate - this would be a great place on a very hot day - nice view, shaded undercover area.

This is our regular place for our official catch up. This doesn't mean I am happy of their service or food. Just always feel like consuming end of the day. The real pain is customer services. Staffs are that much busy that never give a smile to take a order. Personally I will avoid this place.

•catered well for a large group event<br/>•food portion sizes were ample and everyone's dishes looked tasty and well presented<br/>•the staff were all really upbeat, personable and friendly, though after requesting a slight change to a dish (chickpea salad without labne on top), the dish came out as per the menu, but was quickly rectified. <br/>•relaxing atmosphere

Bland and dry food, not value for money (the platters are very small) and rude argumentative staff who are very defensive around the following matters.

Details: my boyfriend bought me the Red Balloon experience here for my birthday present which included 2 cocktails, a bottle of wine and a 3 course meal each. Absolutely nothing to complain about. The whole experience was perfect. Of course company always makes the place better but on top of that the meals were incredible. The entrees: polenta chips, calamari (cooked to perfection) and beetroot salad. Very tasty! Went well with our cocktails. Especially loved the first one... tropical sunrise or something like that? Dutch apple was lovely too (boyfriends choice)... a bit stronger.<br/><br/>For main I chose the Barranamundi which was cooked in a delicious pumpkin sauce with beans underneath as well. The fish was perfect. The combination of sauce and salt was incredible and I can be fussy with my fish. The pizza my boyfriend had was also very tasty and filling. Both meals went down nicely with a bottle of Pinot!!<br/><br/>For dessert we had the Kailua coffee cake and also the chocolate Devils cake. Both were incredible. The ice cream on the coffee cake was to die for.<br/><br/>The whole experience was topped off with incredibly friendly waiters who were very attentive and let us stay for 3 full hours, accompanied by a beautiful view of Melbourne city 😊😍<br/><br/>Live music also is always a great time.

We used a red balloon booking that included a 3 course meal with a bottle of wine to share and a cocktail each. The cocktails were nice but the Melbourne Sunrise could have passed for a mocktail. The food was very nice. There was a food spill on the table from the entree that I ended up cleaning myself after our main was taken away, but that was the only downside of the service. There was a nice atmosphere, though there was ESPN on the wall tv, which was great for me but not ideal for a date<br/><br/>

Service here was absolutely horrible. <br/>8 of us came here to spend our $250 voucher we were given by management a year ago. <br/>Staff were not attentive at all, very rude and unhappy. If you sit outside you don't get any service, you have to order inside. <br/>We moved inside due to rain and still received no service. When it came to ordering half the menu was unavailable. Cutlery and glasses were dirty. <br/>The venue is a very nice place, nice view, but lacking in a lot of things. <br/>I would not recommend coming here. Try Byblos next door, its much better.

Great place for a nice lunch. Lots of beer choices and a great menu. The singer/guitarist (Connor) was great. Very entertaining. Thanks.

I was at The Wharf yesterday to watch the Grand Final game. Left feeling annoyed. Everything to do with this day was made to suit the staff without consideration for the patron. For example... plastic cups for drinks. The Hotel staff couldn't be bothered washing glasses so they decided to use plastic. Disgusting for the environment and the beer doesn't taste as good! I'm sure they would argue the the use of plastic was to reduce glassings but if that's the case no pubs in Melbourne would use glass... ever! Secondly, the food. We were told to order food at a separate counter and pay with cash only. Annoying. I ordered the pumpkin pizza and the margarita. Was told the wait would be 20 mins and that I would have to wait near the area we ordered. Why not deliver our food to our tables? In the end the wait was over an hour. To their credit the pizzas were delicious. Tip for next Grand Final - more staff, more chefs to reduce food wait times, more seats, cheaper prices.

Came here with a bunch from work for lunch. I enjoyed the $15 express lunch special which was a burger and a drink (other options pasta, pizza, pie)—good value!<br/><br/>The burger was good. Slow cooked met-in-the-mouth lamb with beetroom jam, feta, walnuts, and salad earned a thumbs up from me. Brioche bun was a bit sweet, chips were average (not super crispy), and service so-so (drinks took a while to come). Overall not bad though. Wouldn't have wanted to pay full price of $23 for a burger and chips alone though but for a what it was, not bad.

EDIT: been coming here for about a year and getting more and more sick of it. We come for trivia, and we are just about done with the pub. They got rid of $12 pizzas and they are NOT worth $16-24+. The Parma and burgers are also way overpriced for the quality. Tonight we got our usual Tomato & Basil pizza. NO BASIL. All cheese. Also there's never been paper towel in the toilets the whole time I've been here. And they never advertise trivia anymore and now no one comes. Making money off location?<br/><br/>We come here usually once a week for trivia and because we live very close by. If it wasn't for the great trivia, I don't think we'd come. The food is overpriced and fairly average. The service is generally poor: it takes ages for someone to clear your plates, and multiple times we've had glasses taken which still had a decent drink left in them. They do have a good rewards system, but I wish they had more specials like the members card used to have (namely the $5 wines). Location and atmosphere are good.

My friend and I came here to have an express lunch and just to get away from the work crowd. I was surprised at how many other people had come here for lunch too. The restaurant section of The Wharf is quite secluded and away from bar, which was good for the tinder date next to us.<br/><br/>We shared the fried chicken burger and the BBQ beef brisket sanga. Fried chicken burger was fairly standard, no complaints. I did love the sanga, with the jalapeños and mac n cheese in it.<br/><br/>I prefer to come here for drinks than to eat. I've been here a numerous times for drinks and had some food to share during the night (lamb pizza, buffalo wings, and chips). While nothing on the menu is earth shattering, it's still good enough to line your stomach or hold you over till dinner.

Love the atmosphere here! Nice inside and had the heaters going outside so it was nice! $20 off when you sign up as a member! Can earn points by checking into Facebook! We went on pizza night! Pizzas were fantastic ! Good for a chill night pizza and drinks with friends

$20 steak night on a Tuesday with a glass of wine or pot of beer. Steak was cooked to my kind of medium rare!!! Chips cooked well, oil goodness. Friendly staff. Sat inside, there is outside seating under heaters but it's still a bit cold. Tuesday steak night on a warm evening, very nice...

Came here on a quiet Wednesday night with colleagues in preparation for a late night working session. I ordered fish and chips and it was pretty nice. Everyone else enjoy their food too. I've also been here once during the day - food was good and view was amazing!

I normally shy away from this area but The Wharf Hotel on Canada Day offers a cheesy fun vibe that kills the everyday monotony, that is Docklands.<br/>With all things Canadian, Bloody Caesars, Fireballs, Poutine and quite frequently, Justin Bieber. Everyone (majority, Canadian) get's fully into it, there was a guy with an amazing fractal Justin Trudeau sweater!<br/>A DJ was playing only Canadian artists, which featured a lot of obscure folk music.<br/>The recognisable artists were surprising to say the least.<br/>Acquiring food was quite chaotic, and this couldn't be helped as the place was filled to the brim. Your order number was yelled out, so you had to hang around a small corner and pay attention for it.<br/>The Poutine I ordered, was tasty and filling, considering I'd downed a few Caesars and Fireballs, with a lingering Cinnamon Whiskey after taste.<br/>This was my second time at this event and most likely be back next year.
Daniel
A bit pricey for the average quality of the food. I guess you're paying for the overall atmosphere and the view of Docklands. Staff were courteous and attentive.

Went for dinner in a Sunday night and found it quite enjoyable. Did not have to wait to long to be served. Waiter was pleasant and explained the menu. <br/>I had the pulled pork burger which was very nice. No complaints from anyone else in my table. <br/>Will be back again.

Just made it to a pass.<br/><br/>Nice walk into town decided to have a beer and bit of pub grub.<br/><br/>Not to busy, well serviced and a nice ambience.<br/><br/>The majority ordered the steak I ordered the fish and chips.<br/><br/>Steaks were ok.<br/><br/>My meal was pretty oily in fact to oily. Ended up feeling a little unwell.<br/><br/>Oh well it's a pub.<br/><br/>Beer was good.<br/><br/>I leave you with that thought.<br/><br/>Toodles

Service isn't great on the day we were there.<br/>Our meals came out before our jug of Pimms did! <br/>Chips were looking like they come out of a freezer bag and not served very warm.<br/><br/>The pulled pork burgers were nice.<br/><br/>Asked for sauce and informed it costs extra as there is sauce on the burger.<br/><br/>I clarified tomato or BBQ sauce. Was then told I would get some and not have to pay for it!<br/><br/>I would expect more when paying $23+ for a burger <br/><br/>Overall, not in a rush to return which is a shame as its close to work and in a great spot. The pulled pork is what got it a 3 from me<br/><br/>

I came to the restaurant last week and ordered pizza which tastes delicious. Great location with beautiful view of Yarra River. Fast and friendly services.

What a great pub to have discovered. We found this place through the entertainment book and have been back 6 times since. Can be noisy at usual times like Friday Night which we don't like. Go in the day time, next to the water, not so many people, great service and good pub food....will keep coming back! Had the burger, mac cheese squares, chicken strips and all very good. Great Wine selection as well and easy to get to.

Wonderful ambiance along the Yarra River. Great service and friendly staff. Hard to find via GPS, but go along the river on the aquarium side and you'll find your destination. Stay along the riverside!

Great Food & Service extraordinaire at The Wharf Restaurant, Melbourne. Visited the The Wharf Hotel Restaurant today where I was cordially greeted by the manager. I chose The Wharf Cheeseburger with the added egg option for $25 & was more than pleased. Served hot & full of great flavours, the Angus beef really stood out and the chips were piping hot & crispy. The service provision was outstanding - very friendly, efficient and helpful. The restaurant is quite exclusive & has a warm peaceful ambience. Will I return - no question, definitely & soon.<br/><br/>Phill Jury (food critic & writer)

Best Food. I have had a few business meetings here in the last few months and each time am blown away by the delicious food! They've revamped their menu and it is AMAZING. Don't miss on the beetroot salad, pizzas, and fantastic onion rings or jalepeno poppers. You won't be disappointed. Have also had great service here as well; very friendly and attentive not overbearing or pretentious like some waterfront venues.

The express lunch menu are designed for the quickie weekday lunch but in a much nicer setting that your average office break out area. And in my case, a much better tasting lunch than what I usually pack in my lunch box! Wharf side view The staff were very friendly and the food came promptly as promised. I was in and out in less than an hour. The Wharf Hotel offer a choice of five items on the express lunch menu which come with a drink.
Chasing A Plate
...The arrival of my steak sandwich and accompanying cluster of chips was drool-worthy. The way it read on the menu, it had all the makings of being a huge success. Cheese, tomato, rocket, jalapenos, horseradish, caramelised onions and juicy steak sandwiched between nicely toasted bread. And a success it was. The steak was tender and full of flavour, the slices of tomato cut through the richness of the cheese and sweet onions and the nose tingling hit from the horseradish and slow burn of the jalapenos set this steak sanga apart from all others. It was excellent...

Perched on the river, the Wharf Hotel has quite an enviable spot for people of all kinds. Drinkers can perch after work along the water’s edge, and diners can cosy up in the quiet booths, or bask in the good weather.

I was lucky enough to get invited by the Wharf Hotel to try their menu. Hate to admit it, but prior to the invitation, I had never heard of Wharf Hotel, so I wasn't sure what to expect. So D and I decided to make a date night out of this outing, and it was a good thing that we did. Wharf Hotel is located along the Yarra opposite the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. It is a beautiful and Melbourne scenic location on a day/night with lovely weather. It is a casual pub style setting, so it's a perfect venue to kick back for a few lazy drinks and nibbles. To start with, we got the southern fried chicken and the beer battered prawns. The chicken was served with a rich blue cheese sauce and some celery sticks (to help you feel less guilty). The chicken was crisp and juicy and if you like blue cheese, the sauce won't disappoint. The beer battered prawns were well coated, with the hero of the dish being the miso mayo that it came with. D and I had a difference of opinion here. He thought this dish

The Wharf Hotel is close to my work and has quickly become the place of choice for a quick lunch time coffee, an after work drink or a delicious meal. The staff are great and I love the outdoor couch area overlooking the river. Here are some of the dishes enjoyed by myself and friends at The Wharf. The Wharfâs parma, steak chips & leafy greens $22 Steak chips, aioli $8.50 Heirloom tomato, crumbled feta & aged balsamic bruschetta $9.50 Pumpkin, pine nuts, fetta, balsamic onions $14 And a closer look! Spanish chorizo, blistered tomato, garlic, chilli, rocket $16 The pizzas are particular favourites and great value. Zucchini & corn f
Parma Daze
An aesthetically amazing pub in a fantastic location with a top notch view. Too bad the parma was such a let down.

Excellent service and food. Thanks to Floz for looking after us, your service was impeccable and made our stay in Melbourne a memorable one! The food was terrific especially the parmas. We are looking forward to a re-visit next time we are in Melbourne. Floz plus the Wharfs food and drinks makes for a great night.

Great place for summer but food not great. Booked this place for a sunny Friday lunch.<br/>Menu looked great, a little different and with the awesome layout/décor was expecting great food.<br/>Friend had a prawn salad, overseasoned.<br/>I had the steak, very fatty and overcooked. Chips were quite nice, and salad wilted.<br/>On a nice day with great company I had a good time, but was disappointed with the food, think it was slightly overpriced.<br/>Might go back again on a nice day but would have different food expectations going next time.

The Wharf is a very pleasant spot to spend an afternoon. Reasonably good food & service so you could do worse than the Wharf.

Great service & food!. This place has excellent customer service, attention to detail, and regular pub meals as well as an ever changing express menu with quirky and unexpected choices. Whether you're looking for lunch, dinner or an after work drink, you can never go past the Wharf Hotel. The staff are always welcoming and accommodating, the interior is classy and comfortable - I will be coming here for years.

Good spot for q lunch drink. Great location, very friendly staff but lacks quality kitchen.<br/>Good at least for a lunch time bev

Excellent and inclusive. We had a special dinner at The Wharf Hotel last Saturday night for a group of families of kids with a rare syndrome. The staff at The Wharf Hotel were amazingly flexible and accommodating for our group of nearly 30 people which included 4 children and 2 adults with significant physical and intellectual disabilities. Everyone was impressed with the food and the service. Courtney and her team of serving staff were just brilliant. The location is lovely too.<br/> We will be back and I am telling my friends how awesome it is!

Excellent service and food. If your prebooking make sure you ask for Jayden and you won't be disappointed. Highly recommended. Ps the Gnocchi is outstanding.

Great Service, Food and Atmosphere!. I had a birthday sit down dinner with 28 of my good friends on a friday evening. The staff were very attentive and accommodating, the food amazing and the atmosphere - just perfect! Great night had by all!<br/>I'll definitely be going back.<br/>Thanks Wharf Hotel for making me feel special and helping me celebrate my birthday in style.

Don't Bother. My family had a birthday lunch at the Wharf Hotel on Sunday for 17 people, the bar tender looked most inconvenienced and when quizzed began to complain, the wait staff while friendly enough were never around, the drinks are over priced and under poured and the food? Well lets say the $38 steak doesn't even come close to what you can get at Coles and I'm not even sure what was in the the crab linguine. With so many fantastic eateries in Melbourne how this place is doing any business is beyond me - go somewhere else.

Lack of customer service. Very very very disappointed at the lack of customer service. I contacted the venue regarding some lost property and was told they had my items and I could pick them up. When my partner went to collect the items they had no record of my phone call or items. Subsequent calls have been in vain and management seem disinclined to ask staff if they took my initial phone call. Extremely disappointed as I often frequent the venue and I find the lack of communication disgusting.

Not recommended for functions. Booked a function but was extremely unhappy with the service received on the night and the attitude of the staff on the night and afterwards to resolving problems. Food was fine but late and inconsistent in delivery, problems with drinks service and guests were drowned out by loud music. Some guests left early as a consequence. A shame as the decor and views are great.

Below par. Happened across The Wharf last night. We first stopped for a drink, enjoyed the Asian share platter so decided to stay for dinner. Two out of five ordered the crab linguini. I found two unintentional items in mine, one looking suspiciously like a piece of straw, which head waitress explained away as being because the sauce was homemade! Regardless, the sauce tasted only of substantial amounts of canned crab meet and roasted cherry tomatoes that were passed their use by date. After finally being offered replacement meals, I ordered the pork and chicken soft tacos off the entree list, as my appetite was fast slipping away. The pork taco was way overloaded with chunks of pork and too much guacamole. The chicken taco tasted like it had been doused liberally in Dolmio and once again too much guacamole. At $7 and $8 each taco, I was pining for Mama Sita! To add icing to the cake, upon visiting the ladies toilets on the way out, we found them to have overflowing bins, dirty hand basins and no toilet paper in at least 3 of the five toilets that we used! Overall, The Wharf is okay for a drink but then keep on walking.

Cute little place along the Yarra River. Nice views, well protected from Melbourne's temperamental weather. <br/>Staff seem fairly friendly & helpful. Although somewhat limited & a little obscure menu, what we had was enjoyable. Would definitely come back for food & drinks...

Great venue with service to match. Food in line with surroundings and better than pub meals.

The service is absolutely AMAZING. I booked a table for 30 guests: the staff were all great. Entree haloumi & couscous was a stand out. Generous sized meals. Location is gorgeous overlooking the water. Will definitely be back again soon.

Service was EXCELLENT, location is pretty nice, as is menu. Unfortunately food doesn't live up to expectation for the pricing. The steak sandwich was ok, nothing special even though it did have jalepenos, could do better at home. The crinkle cut chips tho were good
Dimma
Average food. Good to take the family for spacious comfort.

Great location. food not so much.. There was a party of 20 with a great offer Entree and Main for $30. The location was great staff were attentive and lovely. The food was just plain weird. I ordered the dips and Gnocchi. One of the dips was like left over pumpkin soup that had something added to it it was overly sweet and like baby food puree. the Main was described as Riccotta Gnocchi with a pumpkin (something i had never heard of starting with V) what arrived was soggy gnocchi on more pureed pumpkin with a few vegetables and desiccated coconut on top. looked like a confused desert. was really sweet and no contrast or taste. I couldn't eat it. others had burgers and parmas which looked good. note to self. only order pub food when in a pub

Relaxed, friendly & Tasty. We have enjoyed another evening here, great food, cheerful & efficient service, very pleasant décor, great location. It was one of the recent super hot nights, the breeze off the river was just right too.

A pub meal at fine dining prices. A small piece of scotch fillet steak with McCain crinkle cut chips (which I honestly thought didn't exist anymore) and a three finger full of mixed salad $40. Had to keep asking waitresses to close the door from the cold wind & asked for dirty cutlery to be replaced twice and we had just sat down. Would only consider going there for drinks.

Fancy Raw Chicken?. If you do you'll love The Wharf Hotel! <br/><br/>What a diabolical experience we had last night. Friends had ordered the southern fried chicken with blue cheese dip, upon cutting one of the chicken pieces it revealed nothing but uncooked pink meat. <br/><br/>Clearly the wharf hotel has issues with a) so called chefs not being skilled enough to deep fry chicken meat that is safe for human consumption and b) massive quality control issues. How you can send out raw chicken beggars belief and speaks volumes for this so called 'restaurant'. <br/><br/>The fact that they sent the 16yr old waitress out to apologise and to inform us that the chicken dish was 'no charge' (duh!) and we could order another entree free of charge displayed how incompetent they are, not even the manager had the courage to apologise for nearly sending us to hospital.. pathetic!

3 strikes. 1. The 1st time we went there I found a small shard of plastic in my side salad - which leads me to believe that it was one of those pre-packaged jobs. 2. The chicken parma was tough as old boots. 3. They didn't let us split the bill - tight. The chips felt like they were McCains crinkle cut fries from Coles and the parma felt like it was defrosted first. On the plus side, the service was good... Don't know if the waiter passed on my lacks of compliments to the chef though. Overpriced food, ridiculously dim lighting. Wouldn't bother.

Nice location, good service. Had a corporate Christmas lunch here today. The wait staff were extremely good; quick, attentive and friendly. <br/><br/>The entrees were excellent and I ate far too much pizza before my main. My main was a steak, very nicely cooked, albeit a bit gristly in parts. <br/><br/>The overwhelming feeling is one of how well they manage to make a truly massive venue feel intimate and private.<br/><br/>Nice location, great service and decent food. Hard to imagine I won't be back here at some point.

Great atmosphere, good service, good food. Good pub... Enough said!

Just what I want in a pub. The Wharf is by far my favourite pub/hotel in Melbourne. The ambience is warming and cosy, yet still trendy. The food is fantastic, albiet the cheeseburger which on more than one occasion has been under cooked and dry. I think it would definitely benefit from a nice tangy tomato/ketchup relish or something of the like. $20 Curry and Beer night on Fridays is such good value, it can't go wrong. The curry tastes like the authentic Fijian Curries I recently experienced in Fiji, which is paired with a beautiful Indian beer and home made Naan/raita.<br/><br/>Staff are always so charming, helpful and friendly. Maria is of course my favourite, however I am biased as she is always our waitress and we've become regulars at The Wharf.<br/><br/>The wharf; a perfect place for any event, special dinners, hosting guests, predrinks before a night out or even a lazy Sunday bevvy by the water

Food wasn't great except for the sticky date pudding was good. We had a lovely friendly waitress. But wouldn't come back unfortunately, mainly because the food just wasn't up to scratch

Wednesday - $10 Pizzas! Can't go wrong!. Great value & tasty pizzas of a Wednesday night. Friendly staff and I loved the decor and setting.

So close to Etihad!. Had a steak and beer before the footy on Saturday. Fast and friendly service and awesome views. Only took us about 15 minutes to get to Etihad and if you eat there you get discounted parking. Loved it, will be back soon.

Go for the drinks only! We ordered the Wagyu cheeseburger and the meat patty was completely RAW inside! Disgusting and was offered no compensation either.

A promise not kept. Made the mistake of coming here last night to enjoy some good ol' Canadian food, & to celebrate Canada Day. We looked online to see where the best place to go for some good food, and unfortunately this is where we were led. We booked through dimmi as they had a "Canada Day" special. BIG MISTAKE. Upon our arrival, there was maybe two staff members running around like chickens with their heads chopped off (you would think to roster more staff on a night like this?), but I guess this is not obvious to some. We walked around for the better part of what felt like forever looking for ANYONE who would help us, until we found ourselves at the bar asking the barman about our reservation. When he said he would look into it, he came back to say the "supervisor" will be over to help you shortly. This is never a good sight.<br/><br/>Upon her slow arrival to us, we showed her our booking & she said "we weren't supposed to be taking bookings this evening & it's just a special menu with pub food, but will see what I can do" (clearly we came here for the special menu!). So we stood at the bar for another 15 minutes while we waiting for her to return. She came back to let us know, in the most unapologetic tone I've ever heard that she couldn't do anything for us, but instead just wait for a table. <br/><br/>I refused to buy a drink and left straight away. You have got to be kidding me if you think I would spend a dollar in your establishment both last night & in the future.

What a joke. Thank you Warf Hotel for the lovely opportunity to spend a relaxed night with my fiancée. First we were greeted by absolutely nobody, only to have a fantastic wait for 15 minutes or so. Time seemed to drag on while we waited for somebody with the IQ slightly more than a wet sock to tell us there were no tables available. I happily showed them my Dimmi booking confirmation I was emailed, I like showing off my phone, especially to as many staff as possible, just in case the first person didn't see how nice it was. The manager then took it upon herself to make things right! She walked around the establishment for what seemed like an entire minute, then told us there was nothing available. Her lack of ability to apologise was heart warming and we proceeded to leave.<br/><br/>Highly not recommended!

Nice place for a drink but the food is absolutely terrible. Do NOT order any of the pizzas!!!!!!!

I think this would be a great place to have a beer in Summer... But as far as dinner goes, it was a little disappointing. This is by no way fine dining so I'll put it in the pub food category. I love a good pub meal... Generous portions, well cooked food and worthy prices to match. The portion sizes were just ok (200gm sirloin was wafer thin), crinkle cut chips straight from a packet and a mediocre salad. The Parma looked ok, as did the ravioli. I will go back for a beer, but that will be about it. Credit to the staff who put up with a difficult group.

My junior partner and I went for lunch at the Wharf Hotel on Saturday. It was very quiet with the exception of a BBQ cooking class that was taking place and filling the restaurant with BBQ smoke. We received good service. The goats cheese tart comes highly recommended. It is a good serving size and the tomato salad is fresh and lovely. Junior opted for fish and chips and the staff happily created a kids' version which was generous in size. As he needed help I can happily report that it was of good quality and very tasty. Lunch wasn't cheap but with views over the river and a lovely environment we weren't complaining too loudly.

All Good. Lunched at the Wharf a couple of times. The food is comes quickly, which is a bonus & is of excellent quality. The staff are very friendly & are good at knowing when to refresh the drinks. Also the location is very pleasant, so overall a good place for a meal.

Great riverside food. I've been here 3 or 4 times now and have never been disappointed. I've always found the food to be of excellent quality and well priced. And I've enjoyed the wines there too. My one disappointment is that for a riverside venue, the main seating area does not have river views, as it's located behind the bar. All the same, I'll be back!

Overpriced menu and staff are lacking any sort of hospitality skills or warmth. Absolutely no atmosphere at night time. The place looks nice but is all style and no substance

Just had lunch at the Wharf, great outdoor location on the Yarra, good pizzas and parma. Staff were friendly and service was excellent.

This is a great place for meals and light entertainment. The food / drinks are really good and the staff are very friendly.

The Wharf Hotel is an affordable pub / restaurant with quality food and a v good selection of drinks. Also, the service is excellent.

Great view of the Yarra!. Found this hidden gem on Tuesday while attending an exhibition at the Melbourne Convention Centre. It is only a short walk from MCEC and has an amazing view of the Yarra.<br/><br/>I only had a short lunch break so chose the Express Lunch menu. It was only $15 and comes with a glass of wine or beer. The food was fresh and tasty and the service was great. I can't wait to come back!

NEVER EVER AGAIN. An appalling restaurant.<br/><br/>I booked there for a private work function with my team. Absolutely embarrassing. Never again.<br/><br/>I felt sorry for the poor waitresses having to serve up such rubbish.
