Great food great atmosphere excellent wine list and fantastic staff. Booking essential because it's a very popular place. Definitely 5 star.
The first thai resto i tried here in Melbourne and i loveeee it!!! I love the tom yum kung and fresh spring roll ššš they both taste almost like the original ones that i tasted back in bangkok. The pad thai is not bad but it tasted sweet
Golden Triangle is excellent! Located above the 7-Eleven on the corner of Domain rd and Park street, this restaurant boasts beautiful views across to the Botanical Gardens. Entry is off Park st, and the restaurant is up a beautiful staircase (I didnāt see a lift). The restaurant is warm and inviting with strikingly beautiful Thai themed art. The food is excellent and very competitively priced. The menu is large, as is the portion size and you donāt have to wait long for your food either. I would definitely recommend going!
A first time visit to this restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised! The food was fantastic and service excellent. The waitresses are pleasant without hovering. Very reasonably priced for a very good feel! Weāll definitely be back for more š
Great food however difficult to order if you are s vegetarian as most of the curries and satay have shrimp paste. Even the veggie samosas have oyster sauce.
But all the food we did have was very tasty and very fresh. Highly recommended.
It was really delicious. There was plenty of food. It is a really good place to eat with family and friends. I am very grateful to the kind staff.
Golden Triangle would be totally missed from the outside, all you can see on the street frontage is a door and then a stairwell as you enter.Ā Once you reach the top floor you enter the restaurant which is very charming.
We were a table of 5, my partner along with Barerabbit & her partner and also Sarah Loves Food.Ā Service was good and prompt and the food was lovely.Ā We ordered a selection of curries to share, I thought they were delicious.Ā The pad thai was also very good, the size of the prawns in both the pad thai and curry were large and juicy! The golden bags were a real treat, I had not had them before, thanks Sarah Loves Food for the suggestion! The desserts were a bit of a miss for me, the only saving grace was the ice cream on both dishes.Ā BYO, always a winner.
All in all, a fabulous night with fabulous company.Ā Thanks guys, look forward to doing it again soon!
5 diners - two gave a 4, two gave 3.5 and one gave 3. But with this new version of Zomato on my mobile, I can only choose 3 or 4, so for those reading this, do what you will with this bit of information.
Golden Triangle is a great example of a āblink and youāll missā restaurant. Look out for the signage, take the stairs up a level and go through the right door. Service was very polite, and dishes appeared at the table really quick.
The general consensus was that the Golden Bags and the Pad Thai were amazing, and while the prawns used in the dishes were very fresh and juicy, the beef was a bit tough. The curries were leaning towards the sweet spectrum, tasty nonetheless, but more geared toward the Western palate. Thumbs up for the coconut ice cream and the mango ice cream, but thumbs down for the taro custard which tasted like a bland egg custard.
Great company for the night though. It was fab to finally meet Sarah Loves Food, and as usual, we had a blast with Simmyeats.Melb and her partner.
Overall: Winner!! An intimate space, excellent service, and excellent food.
Food: Pad Thai was fantastic! Chuchi chicken was fantastic! And plenty of both. Loved the fish cakes as entree. Roti and peanut sauce was excellent too. Loved it all!
Service: Excellent! I'd say you need a booking on busy nights, but they accommodated us nicely.

Delicious. Probably the closest tasting thing to food in Thailand that I've found in Melbourne. The chili basil.dish was spot on with heat. .
Oh yum... we had been here before but not for a while, and we were looking forward to our return visit it and it did not disappoint. We shared the soft shell crab salad, the garlic prawns and paid thai prawns and they were all just so tasty and fresh, though I felt the salad took the show. The desserts weren't great but we wrote those off, given the mains were so good. Service was pretty quick considering they were heaving with customers, and even a visit to the bathroom made me stop as they were so incredibly clean - always a great sign! Really really good food and we are already planning a return visit...
Lovely food! I came in a rainy night. Immediately ate my food when they brought out cause I was starving so couldnāt take decent photos of the dishes. But red duck curry is great. Pad satay sauce w stir fry beef is yummy too. Definitely come back.
Nice food, friendly staffs. We definitely will come back!
Lovely food, lovely staff. Prompt, attentive service. Worthwhile to make a booking even during the week. Clean decor and amenities. Tucked away upstairs I prefer to eat here rather than down on the main street where it can get hectic, noisy and full of posers. A good wine list is available for those who are interested.
I love Thai food and this Thai restaurant serves a variety of delicious dishes. The curries are yummy and so are the rice and noodle ones. Rich in flavour, spicy, your taste buds will love it. We have been there a couple of times and were never disappointed. Also good and quick service.
One of the best Thai restaurants in Melbourne, it is a little Thailand, friendly staff, amazing food, worth the price , very good service . Will go again for sure. If you ever go there dont miss Massaman curry
A great way to end your Friday and start your weekend is to eat good food! I used @menulog this time to order from The Golden Triangle located in South Yarra.
We ordered:
1. Mixed Entree (Satay chicken, golden bag, spring roll, curry puff and fish cake)
2. Kao Pad Sapparod (Fried rice with mild curry powder, prawn, pineapple and cashew)
3. Cuchi Chicken with Coconut rice
All of these dishes were sooo delicious. The price was so good for the portion, I ended up having leftover fried rice for my lunch on the next day. The only downside is I had to share the Mixed Entree with my bf! I better order my own next time š
