We had a perfect evening at Fratelli's.
Went for the birthday celebration and offer. Received a free dessert and 50$ off the bill.
But the restaurant really impressed us with everything else:
Olives & bruschetta a lovely start. Main dishes came shortly afterwards, we had lamb ragout, linguine and the risotto. Everything was wonderful. Pasta al dente and one dish vegan, when asked for.
And finally dessert: Tiramisu which was quite authentic. Strong coffee taste and good Mascarpone.
They also have a huge selection of wine to go with everything.
But most of all, the service was amazing. Always helpful and friendly, never intrusive and ever there to cater to our needs.

Editing this review and changing to 5 stars, they have stepped up the service and quality of food here since opening. The pizzas are next level and I would have a hard time choosing to go here, DOC, or another quality place. Original review below.
I'm a huge Fratelli fan from when I lived in Sydney, it was a down to earth oasis in a sea of too cool suity Sydney places. Welcome to Melbourne, I can safely say the experience is really good.
The interior is better than any of the Sydney spots and the hybrid wood fire gas oven a sight to behold. Inside you will find wholesome Italian food for a very reasonable price.
Some annoying quirks will also be found such as a few miniature tables and food being served on tiny dessert plates. The menu changes frequently, but if you want something from the past the staff will make it happen.
Give Fratelli a try, with tough competition in Melbourne they may have a hard time standing out, but I always have a great time here.

Margharita Pizza was excellent! Staff are still learning the menu but excusable as it was only day 2. Aranchini balls lacked flavor but all in all a good Italian restaurant. Sydney one was definitely better.
Best margherita pizza I've had since Naples - the tomatoes and mozzarella and crust were all soooo tasty. five stars for sure
Consistently good food. Pizzas made at the pizza bar and cooked in wood fire oven. Nice wine and drink selection. Service not so bad either.
Great food and atmosphere. Service was prompt and professional. Prices were reasonable. Very happy overall, can't fault anything.
We often go to lunch here, great pizzas and pastas and nice comfortable surroundings. Waiters are always courteous.
