Located within the Emporium food court, Sushi & Nori presents as both a sushi train and takeaway sushi outlet.
I’ve visited on a number of occasions to take away a grab and go pack however in my most recent visit I decided to try the sushi train. Visiting during an off peak time I was seated straight away.
Everything on the train was beautifully presented. Although visiting at an off peak time, the chefs were still making fresh plates and adding to the train. Everything I tried was fresh and tasty.
Overall I rate Sushi & Nori ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ our of 5. The sushi train has a good selection although the pricing is a bit higher compared to some other restaurants.
I love Sushi & Nori!
The sushi rolls are all so fresh compared to other sushi chains. I usually get the salmon pack and I love the mayo/sauce the put on top - it's delicious. The portion size in the pack is good.
Having seen the reviews from the sushi train, maybe it's best to stick with the sushi packs!
Overall, this is one of my favourite sushi places in Melbourne.
J’s score 4.0 stars (avge of 2 reviews - non sushi train section). J had a late solo lunch here on Thu 26th Sep. Service polite, helpful and lovely. Place was clean and quite spiffy for a food court - nice and quiet, relaxing (although busy).
She ordered 3 maki rolls ($4ea) - Large and fat, very good value. All very fresh due to high turnover and regular replacement. She was given 4 soy “fish” and a large tub of ginger, which was very thinly sliced, crunchy and spicy (very pleasing).
Salmon and avo sushi - Thick serve of salmon. Fresh, nice and soft.
Tuna and avo sushi - Generous serve of tuna, lots of mayo. Very fresh.
Vegetable sushi - Onion/carrot kariage a generous size and nice crunch. Lettuce plus lots of nice matchstick cucumber. Interesting and yummy!
Will return just for the Vego/kariage ones - they were the star of the show…
Jan 2019. J had a Grilled salmon bento box ($15) for lunch. Service was quick and friendly - limited seating other than at their sushi train. Generous and tasty portion of salmon/ok omelette/ok prawn gyoza/very nice crispy prawn. Also, nice charred asparagus, cauliflower and spicy corn (esp good)/carrot and onion mix (very good)/plus crumbed mushroom/edamame/green and red salad/rice. Overall quite pleasant for being in a food court and the meal was good - a substantial serve for someone with a moderate appetite...
The red salmon sushi and salmon sashimi packs are amazingly fresh and reasonably priced. Over time with several visits, I found the quality has been always remained very consistent.

it was the end of day sale and I got 2 of their rolls for 14 dollars, which was quite worth it. The rolls were more on the saucy side but I quite enjoyed it. The rice was nicely cooked even though it was the end of day. The seaweed still kept its integrity and the filling was nicely balanced as the sauce wasnt too overwhelming. I had the one with spicy scallop and salmon, dont remember the name, but I preferred this one over the salmon king which was more of a teriyaki like sauce over spicy mayo. That being said, I would love to try their sushi train, but it seem to be more on the pricey side. Might just stick with their end of day sale instead!
I really like their seared salmon packs. Got the red salmon today and it was a tuna sushi with a seared salmon rolled on top with chilli sauce. $11 a pack. Really yummy. There's six inside. Nothing to fault.
Located on the 3rd level of Emporium, Sushi Nori is one of the best sushi train restaurants I’ve ever eaten in Melbourne. Although it’s in the middle of the food court, this restaurant shines compared to other food court restaurants. Despite the great dishes we’ve ordered, it is also accompanied by it’s premium pricing of $4.5, $6 and $8 per different patterned plate which is why I gave this restaurant a 4 star instead of 5. Amazing presentation along with great taste, the staff is also very attentive and polite. I would definitely come back here compared to other sushi trains.
This is one of Australia's best Sushi trains. The food quality is very good but the prices are high (most decent plates are $8 so you have to spend over $35 for a reasonable snack and soft drink. Well worth a try if you don't mind the prices.
Out of all of the sushi place we been in Melbourne, this is one of the better ones. No where close to what you can get from.japan, of course, but the sushi were.fresh and the sashimi were cut into generous sizes. Their agedashi tofu was weird, it came with a rather thick sauce instead of the broth like sauce.
I always love a good wasabi, and Their wasabi is not the 100% real wasabi of course but they were made in Japan.

I must say I was impressed with the fitout and clean feel about Sushi & Nori. I came in and grabbed a couple of Tuna avocado rolls and a teriyaki salmon roll. They were sizeable will content end to end unlike some places that cheat you with the non display end. They came wrapped in paper which kept them seperate. I found 3 was way to much for me but ate them anyway. For me the teriyaki sauce was a little heavy handed but I’m not a mega sauce fan so it might appeal more to those who are. Clean and tasty.
