This place is a favourite. Very happy with the 5 course set menu they’re running post COVID.
$65 pp and you definitely get you money’s worth.
Great staff and fantastic food. Particularly loved the Cheery Tomatoes with Greek Yoghourt and sourdough, the sticky lamb ribs are a classic Peacock Den item.
Wine list is small but extensive showcasing wines from all domestic regions and international parts.

Friendly, relaxed, professional service. Great choice of wines, drinks, tapas, light meals and snacks. Beautifully cooked Calamari. Comfortable lounge type seating. Perfect for some chill out time with your favourite tipple.
Stunning find in the outer east suburbs. Beautiful wine bar with gorgeous seating, and sometimes in warmer days they’ll open up the front windows and a lovely breeze comes in when you relax with a wine and nibbles. Great service and perfect atmosphere for a date or catch up with some close friends over a drink or three!

Attention to detail sums up the food, wine, service and ambience at The Peacock Den. From the elegant furniture to the stylish bathroom (which could double as a private dining area!) featuring a huge salt lamp, The Peacock Den is warm and welcoming.
With an impressive drinks menu featuring local and international wine, beer, cider and spirits together with traditional and locally inspired cocktails.
The sharing menu has something for everyone from a mouthwatering braised pork belly with corn coconut purée and Thai chilli jam to hot black cherry donuts coated in cinnamon sugar.

Finally had a chance to visit and we were not disappointed. It's a small, intimate venue with cosy leather couches and colourful armchairs, with a few standard tables or sit at the bar if you prefer. Folding windows open out on to the street - although the view is dominated by the local CFA across the road but this just adds to the slightly quirky atmosphere for somewhere out this neck of town.
Music was kept to a low level which was appreciated and although the room soon filled up it wasn't too noisy (apart from a small gaggle of giggling girls whose shrieks interrupted our conversation now and then - but let the young things have their fun...)
From our selection of four shared dishes, the food was perfectly delicious and arrived one by one which was nice, allowing us to savour each separately - tender garlic prawns, crispy saganaki, a juicy beef slider and the most amazing roasted baby carrots. A little on the pricey side overall but can't fault the chef.
Service was outstanding and the wine list comprehensive - by the glass ranging from $11 up. My Expresso Martini (instead of dessert) was delish!
Summary: loved it and will be back regularly even if just for drinkies - make sure you book beforehand is my tip.

Loving The Peacock Den since it arrived in October 2016. A very, very welcome addition to our local area. Excellent tapas-style food - the calamari is to die for - and an extensive wine list, a must for wine lovers to stop in and try. Booking recommended on on Fri/Sat nights in particular. You will not be disappointed!!
My partner and I have been here a number of times - we love this place! It's so nice to finally have somewhere nice to eat in the area. Impressive drinks list and the food is amazing. Although, I feel like the menu might be a bit let down by having things like sliders and chips on there. The food is so delicious and it's such a shame when you see people eating the more common foods like hot chips. Do yourself a favour and let the waiters/chef choose some plates for you - you'll get the best of the best that way. I'd definitely recommend booking in advance - it can get quite busy. All in all, this is definitely the perfect place for a couple or friends for a nice intimate evening.
Impressive wine list, awesome food and great freshly renovated space ! Well worth a visit and looks like becoming a long standing member of The Basin community !
Cosy ambiance with intimate seating to have a nice evening, long list of exotic cocktails, menu with a mix of cuisines to cater every dietary requirement, quick and friendly staff who knows how to treat their guests, falafel sliders 🍔 the highlight of the evening, coming back for sure 🙏

The highlight for me was the sliders. They were the best sliders I’ve ever had. Melt in your mouth.
The chef even came out and asked if we wanted more sliders to which I shamelessly said YES. 😂
I left very stuffed.
The wine list was good.
We got one glass that had pieces of cork in it (small pieces). On pointing this out, the waitress took it away but the second glass still had a bit of cork in it.
Over all great experience. Will never forget those sliders.
A fabulously relaxing place to spend an evening. Booking are essential and ask for something near the fireplace. The food is so, so but the ambiance and cocktails are wine list are where it's really at!

Excellent quality food and wine and service was fantastic. The atmosphere is great. This is a little gem, we will be back for sure. No need to go to the city when you have something as good or better out in the suburbs.
Unique and cosy, and delicious food made with love. Front of house manager Nick was doing an amazing job, service was warm and personable, and the food was delicious. The layout of the restaurant made it perfect for date night, we were seated side by side on a comfy Chesterfield sharing food and enjoying watching the world go by on a rainy evening. We'll definitely be back.
Beautiful atmosphere - cosy and comfortable yet elegant and stylish. Staff are professional, kind and witty; able to attend to the whole Den without compromising on service. Food is an absolute treat; wine selection is amazing
