This is actually a long-pending review – better late than never, as they say. Well, Bhoj is arguably one of the best Indian restaurants in Melbourne, located at the scenic Docklands. We arrived at this place after some Sunday shopping; I had my sister, brother-in-law, and little nephew for company. The food was yummy – as per our expectations. The staff was really courteous, so much so that the owner himself came up to our table and had a chat with us.
The overall experience was quite satiating after a sumptuous brunch — loved it!
A small suggestion, if I may (things might be better now); given the quality and the taste, the presentation of the food/dishes could be better to enhance brand Bhoj even further.
My Ratings are as follows:
Ambience: 3.5,
Food: 4+,
Service: 4.5
Keep it up, Team Bhoj!
Sincere apologies for a late review. Would love to visit you guys again; hopefully sometime soon.
Cheers
Partha
Invited an old friend to lunch here last week. The Pani Puri was excellent. The breads were good. My friend liked it so much he came back a couple of days later with family and friends for dinner. This week, I had lunch with a couple of workmates. They all liked it.
Been there with my group on tour. Had korma, kofta sabji, daal and rice with chicken curry. I have Typically observed in Australia over 11days time that the indian food tastes nothing like indian food. But in Bhoj I was surprised it tasted like authentic Indian food. Gajar ka halwa (sweet carrot) was yummy... even if I had diet restrictions i cheated😉
We personally met the owner and was a warm homely experience.
Must must try in Australia.
Found this restaurant through the booking site The Fork. The service is ok, not great but not as bad as how some of the reviews on here makes it out to be.
The pani puri was alright, I liked the fact they kept the tamarind sauce and mint juice separate from the shells.
The mains are great! All very generous with the proteins (chicken, paneer, mushrooms) the sauces were all unique in flavour. The paneer methi malai was amazing, highly recommend it.
Had friends over from Europe. Bhoj did not disappoint. Great service (good effort by the staff remembering the whole order no notes written). Polite and happy to chat.
Great food and reasonably priced with a good view of the water.
They even let us chat and catch up while they packed up around us. No pressure to go.
Happy to recommend to others and happy to return.
A good place to be. With open and indoor sitting area. Good taste. Nice ambience. Good price. Ate malai paneer kofta and dal masala tadka. Both were good.
“Everyone Keeps Coming Back” according to their Tagline.
We tried this place on the spur of the moment last night. What a pleasant surprise!
From the warm, friendly welcome by the Maitre d’, to the decor and the food itself, we couldn’t fault it!
As one of us had already eaten, we only ordered some samosas followed by the Chicken Tikka Masala with garlic naan.
The spice level was hot, (at my request) which was a very pleasant 7/10 level of heat. The curry was absolutely delicious! Full of a complexity of flavours with the different spices perfectly blended together. It with accompanied by a light and slightly crispy, mouth watering, garlic naan.
Service was attentive and pretty fast which was much appreciated last night. My only regret was that we weren’t hungrier when we entered.
Guess we’ll be heading back soon to sample a more extensive range of the menu - just like their tagline says.
Will add photos when I do!!!
Awesome meal, nice staff, owner/manager personally greets and check for requirement and needs, best peaceful place to have dinner with family, or business partners, bit pricey due to location, though no compromise with the food quality, loved this place from last 10 years.
Delicious food! The food tasted so fresh it had a great balance of flavours. Would definitely order again from here, I highly recommend to everyone
LOVE this place! Everything was delicious but I most recommend the tandoori meats and butter chicken. The customer service is really good! Nice ambience and good location in docklands. Worth a visit!
Delicious food 😋 Our family really enjoyed mouth watering food at Bhoj. Very happy with the quality and portion size of everything we ordered. Service was amazing too. I’m definitely going back.
The most creamy Soy Champs I ever had. Not joking, even in India I never ate such melting soy champs. It literally melts. Staff is amazing, services are so quick and prompt. And of course it’s Dockland so location is also great that even if you over eat out of greed, you can always have a nice stroll outside. Well, I was so in love with champs that Couldn’t even take a picture of it. But yes, Chicken tikka is here for an idea about their presentation
Recently renovated nice ambience. We tried vegetarian food which was tasty. Good in quantity as well as quality. Kind and welcoming host. Lively music and dance floor.
It has become a go to place for our friend's birthday celebrations.
Food was tasty, service was really good. Much better than my initial perseption.
Authentic delicious Indian food experience. Generous portions and full of flavour. Gentle service and lovely ambiance. It felt we were somewhere else, a little culinary trip without getting out of Melbourne.
Hi team Bhoj, thanks to your hospitality and delicacy we had a wonderful evening. Paneer Mircha was my favourite 😀😀
Had a lovely time having dinner with family today. The food was delicious and served in good quantity. The spice was just right! The hostess was polite and helpful!
Would definitely recommend!
