Great ambience with a great service. Most of the entree ordered were nice. Yes its really an experience with amazing food quality, service and presentation!!
Owner Jagdish was grateful.
Need a slight improvement on quantity of mains.
One of the underrated indian restraunt in CBD.. they have great menu and food . If you like quite and good ambience this place is for you. Courteous staff, good food.
I have been to this place many times, kumbh karara is much try same for paneer lollypop.
Main course have many option for vegetarians ..
Honestly I love my Indian and have tried it across the country and this was absolutely delicious. Maybe the service is isn’t perfect but it’s more than made up for by beautiful food. I was a little hesitant with the mixed reviews but was glad I gave it a go! Recommend
Classic Indian with a waterfront view - Mint-O-Mustard is a must try!
Set amongst Docklands’ bustling Newquay Promenade, Mint-O-Mustard is a waterfront Indian restaurant serving up authentic, mouth-watering dishes. You’ll find flocks of locals, tourists, corporates and shoppers popping in for a quick bite and coffee, or sitting down for a three-course banquet.
Elegant copper interiors create a relaxed yet sophisticated ambience matching their exceptional wine and craft beer selection, as well as their extensive cocktail list. Aperol spritz anyone? The abundant space and outdoor seating on the water caters for all occasions and large groups, from family dinners to Christmas parties.
The seasonal menu offers authentic Indian food using fresh local produce prepared daily on-site. The sweeping variety of small and large sharing plates accommodates any appetite or craving, and there are plenty of vegetarian dishes too! We loved the spicy tandoori Mushrooms, as well as Mint’s signature dish – the Paneer Lollipops. We recommend choosing a few curries and vegetable dishes to share, contrasting the fiery spice with fresh flavours. The Goan Fish Curry and Malai Kofta are great choices. Add a side of coconut rice and garlic naan, and you’re set for a perfect Indian feast!
Sweet tooths will delight in the dessert menu, which includes a variety of traditional and contemporary dishes. The indulgent Nutella Naan served with vanilla ice-cream and strawberries is the most popular choice and for good reason – it’s delectable!

Mint o Mustard is located along the new quay in beautiful Docklands. It has a great view and an outdoor area.
We were lucky enough to be invited to try their food. For entree, we had the paneer lollipops, the sauce was really nice. For main, we had the butter chicken, prawn malabar, lamb saag, garlic naan and lemon rice. The curries were good, especially the lamb, if you like a bit of spiciness. The naan was delicious, went really well with the curry. The lemon rice added a refreshing touch to our meal, which was great.
Last night we went over to the far side of Docklands to try out the menu at Mint-o-Mustard. This venue is located in one for the more frequented parts of the Dockland Promenade located close to other favourites. The venue itself has seating for over 180ish guests inside and plenty of additional spots on the outside alfresco area but both a window seat inside or outside with get you startling views over the marina.
We started with a round of drinks and I set myself up for success with a super thick and tasty mango lassi. Other chose a pina colada from the ample cocktail list and kingfisher beer because when in Rome...
For our Indian food feast we started with vegetable samosas, as good a place to start as any imo. These homemade spicy delights where steaming hot with a light soft mash and herbs and super crunchy shell. I love a good samosa and these tick all the boxes, a great way to start of the night.
The Mint prawn tandoori we’re marinated with yoghurt mint, and spices cooked in clay oven then tossed in coconut.
Chicken 65, these boneless chicken pieces where on the sweeter side, with great level of heat and an almost caramelised coating. I haven’t eaten chicken like this before but given the medium chilli kick I hope it won’t be the last.
For mains and without any discussion we all happily ordered the butter chicken which was absolutely western styled and absolutely what I wanted with sweetness and delicious tender chicken and plenty of cream.
The Aloo Gobi described as Potato & cauliflower was a brilliant dish, vibrant & delicious, this was one of my favorites, loads of flavour a lovely chilli hit.
Another vegetarian dish was Malai kofta which was Fried cottage cheese and mashed potato dumplings stuffed with nuts and cooked in a mild cashew sauce. There were only three dumplings in this dish and I would have liked to see more but that epic sauce was used by all to dunk naan and coat rice.
Our last main was the Beef madras which was cooked with medium spices including roasted mustard seeds, curry leaf and coconut cream. The great gravy’s with this curry was again perfect for dipping in the garlic & cheesy garlic naans we ordered.
We were done and yet next minute out comes a Nutella naan for sharing. I kid you not one of the best Nutella desserts I’ve had. They have an M&M one as well. Yay!!
We all had a super time at Mint-o-mustard. Thanks to the team for inviting us in.
Delicious food My favourites are fish tikka, kadai paneer, chicken tikka and rotis Biryani items are ok interestingly when I said spicy they added many chilli flakes to biryani :P Ambience is good for parties Can be reached by trams 35,70
Great place to dine with family or friends. 200 seating area. We went with friends and our newborn baby. So much space for our prams and very clean and good looking restaurant. The food was awesome. Service was good as well.
Authentic Indian food. Mint-o-Mustard serves actual spicy Indian food! They also use whole spices in their curries as well, showing that they are using authentic spices. There are no mild versions of their dishes available. Medium is the least spicy level you can get at Mint-o-Mustard. The vindaloo is amazing! Only criticism is that they use broccoli in their food. Broccoli isn’t normally used in Indian cooking.... plus it’s my least favourite vegetable! Luckily I could give the broccoli to one of my friends!
Also their garlic naan is the second best naan I’ve tried in Melbourne! Finally another place that serves good garlic naan!
Went there in a Sunday night. The place is huge but was a bit quite that day. As when you visit a place in Docklands you expect some decent crowd. As it was a birthday party, so at first we were a bit upset. We ordered some starters and after getting the food the presentation bought smile to our faces. The tandoori chicken was a served on a sizzler plate and looked stunning. They have a vast menu with a lot of vegetarian options. Everything was perfectly cooked. Specially the fish. The Mains were not as good as starters. Only thing, chicken shahi korma was the show stopper. The place has a good ambience and not too heavy on pocket as well.
Restaurant looks clean and big for big gatherings or small. I have been there with my 3 month old baby and few friends. So much space for pram to move around and food is delicious. Little Gem in Docklands, After visiting twice to this place for a good meal and wine, we are going to have couple of birthday parties as well. It has outdoor heated place and in summer or winter glass door in the front can be opened for large gatherings up-to 200 or more.
Do yourself a favour. If you like Indian food, make sure to sample a range of delicious curries from this friendly restaurant. We love it so much we go often enough to be considered regulars. The Chicken 65 is spectacular, as is butter chicken and lamb madrass (our faves). Highly recommended.
Very good food and the naan we had was awesome, it wasn't burn, thin crust yet wasn't hard or chewy. They also have Nutella and cheese naan for kids. Awesome water front view. The girl at the front was always smiling even while struggling with her mask.
We love the place and food quality, very private and suitable as function venue. We strongly recommend the entree chicken, very appetising and tender. The curries are creamy and authentic flavoured. We will come back for sure :)
This is one place that I just loved for Indian food. Been there twice and have not been disappointed. Some of the dishes that are a definite try include methi malai chicken, chicken 65, malai kebab. One more thing that I loved here is the laccha paratha made perfectly.
Definitely recommend this place for good Indian food.
Beautiful waterfront location with awesome authentic Indian food. Great service and reasonably priced, definitely coming back!
