Four of us spent about $100 but they still insisted on surcharge if pay by card even though the sign said minimum $25.

Ordered off their lunch menu and was very surprised at the amount of food and variety there was in the lunch set. Ordered the beef bulgogi and the chicken katsu sets. Very filling meals that are great value for money. Can’t say that the food is of the very best quality but you can’t expect the best at that price point. Will definitely return for lunch and perhaps dinner sometime.

This is my new found favourite Korean restaurant. The atmosphere is homey, the service is great,
the menu is extensive and most importantly the food is delicious! We ordered the army stew, the blood sausage and the fried chicken. The army stew was packed with lots of ingredients ranging from luncheon meat to sausages to pasta to noodles to veggies to rice cakes. It was delicious and perfect for winter. The fried chicken is some of the best fried chicken I have ever had. Juicy and tender on the inside and crunchy on the outside, so moreish and I could order a whole bucket and eat it in front of the TV. The blood sausage may scare some but it’s made in-house and doesn’t taste of blood at all. It’s soft and there are glass noodles in it and it just tastes delicious. A most satisfying meal. You know a place is good when you are thinking of when you can come back whilst you are still eating!!!

Ordered soy garlic fried chicken and tobokki for takeaway- prompt service, really good cuts of chicken. The only thing I would fault was the fried chicken sauce was too salty, probably will try the original next time. Also highly recommend adding potato noodles to your tobokki!

How good is Hankki? My friend Jo heard good things about the place so we chose it for our first ever meal in Carnegie. And we chose super well with this bustling Korean eatery. Probably the best KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) we’ve had in Melbourne and with proper, authentic Korean flavours. As we’ve both been to Korea and dined plenty there, we can attest to this with some confidence.

4 of us went there for lunch and found a gem of a Korean restaurant.

Service was warm and good and so were the dishes we all ordered..

My spicy chicken on rice was a mere $10 +$2 for extra fried egg on top. Well priced and yummy!

Lovely Korean restaurant in the heart of the busy Koornang Rd central Carnegie.
Part of the Hankki $10 Lunch Special from 11:30am - 3:00pm daily. Tender Marinated Beef BBQ and Vegetables with Rice. Plus one asian Samosa, Octopus 🐙 Ball and scoop of mashed potatoes.
Cheap eats at its best⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Located 1 minute away from Carnegie Station, this restaurant is our go to place to satisfy our cravings for Korean food. Whenever we come here, we always order the sundae and spicy galbi jeongol in little spicy. We’ve had these two dishes for at least 4 times now and it never disappoints. The spicy marinated beef comes in three different levels of spiciness. If you cannot handle your spiciness, go with the little spicy~ Although we got the little spicy, it could be spicy at times however the sweetness of the onions balances it out. You could tell the beef has been marinated for a long time, as the juiciness and wholesome of flavours could be tasted with every bite. The beef is also so tender, that it falls right off the bones. The sundae is always our favourite! It’s difficult to find good sundae in Melbourne but Hankki does it well~ These two dishes are highly recommended if you decide to drop by. This time, we also ordered the mul naengmyeon because it was a humid day. It really helped us cool down prior to downing the blood sausages and spicy marinated beef. We will definitely be back once again! 🙌🏻

3.5 to be precise

Lunch experience here that day was synonymous to taking a ride on The Giant Drop in Dreamworld, leaving me quite torn about the scoring for the first time.

The Deep Fried Oysters and Original Korean Fried Chicken were fantastic! The fresh, creamy oysters and succulent, crispy chicken posed a promising start for more good food to come.

Indeed, that promise was upheld with the Spicy Pork with Rice - tender, smokey pork slices cooked in a sauce that had a good balance of both sweet and spicy elements.

Sadly, that was where it peaked, stopped and plunged after I tasted my Spicy Seafood Ramen. The broth was awfully bland and lacking of chilli factor. A few mouthfuls of noodles, two calamari pieces, one clam and shrimps that were no bigger than a 5c coin later, I gave up. I was defeated by this lacklustre dish.

At $10 each, the Lunch Specials are indeed enticingly cheap. The pork dish was worth every cent and more, but the ramen was a major letdown. I understand that seafood costs can be higher, hence the dismal amount given, but at least inject some love and flavour into the broth.

It would’ve been a perfect experience if not for the ramen because the other 3 dishes that we had were fabulous and service was courteous.

At least I now know better than to order the Spicy Seafood Ramen again next time.

This is one of the gems to find good traditional Korean cooking. The kimchi pancake is the best in town and you should never miss the galbi jim or budae jiggae.

Fantastic place to drop in for lunch, with (at the time of writing) $10 lunch deals from 11:30 - 2:30 as pictured.Options include your choice of meat (or a vegetarian option) rice, some side dishes like potato, takoyaki and a samosa. Great taste and value. Will definitely try out during dinner.

Round 2 of my dinner tonight. My second time at this Korean Restaurant. Never disappointed! Excellent service! Love the food and worth the wait. He waiter was working by himself on a busy Saturday night, but he stilled has bright smile on his face and very apologetic for his delayed service. He looked us well, in fact he looked after all customers well tonight. Deserves a pat on his back for the out standing customer focused services! Highly recommended: Samgye-tang I can smell the Gin Seng when the soup was serviced on the table! The chicken was full of Gin Seng flavour as well!

Overall they serve delicious food at a fairly reasonable price. The portions are generous enough. Moreover, the staff are friendly and nice. I have been there already three times and I will probably go back if the opportunity arises. Thus, this is clearly a recommend place, if you are in search for a good Korean restaurant. Nevertheless, I did slightly hold back on the stars due to the fact that the fried chicken and the fried dumplings weren't that special and I had many better ones.

Amazing service and food! The dish was cheap, only $10 for each dish! Vegetables, carbs, meat, all distributed very evenly. Portion is definitely large enough, and it tasted heavenly. Will definitely be coming back!!

Besides those famous Korean food like bibimbap and fried chicken, you can enjoy other traditional dishes like hot pot stews here. Clean environment and pleasant customer service. Walking distance from train station.
