Yummy little nook in the heart of the city, like to come by on my study break for a quick feed, not a bunch of space to sit during lunch hour and not a huge range of stuff to eat but great for a grab and go type dealio. Really tasty.

Awesome pies! Everything on the menu is awesome. Thoughtful menu items, some of the many favourites include: Katsu Chicken Curry Pie and the Cheese and Bacon Sausage Roll.

Best pie I've ever had I think. I went for the classic mince, and every bite was comforting, nostalgic and delicious. Been craving more ever since.
Great pies (and coffee). The truffled lamb and goats cheese is honestly incredible, everyone in the break room was jealous of my lunch - and even convinced a few others to go check it out on their break.
After hearing about Princes Pies online and reading a few reviews I added it to my ‘to do’ list next time I was in the CBD with available time. In Melbourne today for the footy tonight I took a break from my journey and thoroughly enjoyed a delicious Classic Beef Sausage Roll and coffee. Next time it’ll be a pie!
As a kiwi and pie fanatic I was nervous to try these pies as I really really wanted to like them! And they do not disappoint! I'm a fan of the steak and cheese, the filling is just so delicious. I've tried the beef sausage roll too and it's a good, honest sausage roll. The tomato sauce on offer is a bit boring, blah. How bout some hot sauce? Sauce options? Everyone loves sauce. Love this place for Friday Pieday. Totally recommend!
Saw an article on Time Out come up on my FB feed so thought I'd check these mates out in Howey place, just off little Collins (near the little Collins David Jones entrance). Was not disappointed! So far have had the classic mince pie & the lamb+truffle pie. TRUTH: this is the best MINCE in a pie I have tasted in my entire life!!! Please don't change. I am currently recommending to everyone I know. Good service too, few stools to sit on if you want and hasn't been particularly busy at the times I drop in which is great. Ten out of ten recommend **edit: free sauce (like it should be lol) but leave a bit of loose change if you are feeling generous
This guy loves his pies. Giving up the hard slog of fine dining for a pie shop, the owner decide to take Aussie pies up a notch. It’s about time we had pies to rival the Kiwis, and I think this shop fits the bill. I went old school and had the classic mince. Excellent pastry (not quite as flaky as I’ve had in NZ but possibly a different style at play here) and a pie filled with cracker jack free range beef mince. All killer, no filler. Tomato sauce is abundant with bottles on the two small tables inside for you to help yourself. Get in early as they’d sold out of the pepper steak, lamb and truffle and sausage rolls by 1pm. I left pie eyed and satisfied.
Hot Pies and coffee.. nothing more pleasing. Not your everyday four and twenty pies. I had lamb with truffle oil and goats cheese. It was very delicious. Only 4 stools for eating in but the pies are perfect for take away and eat on the go as the pie did not fall when I ate it. Will definitely go back to try other pies.
Has to be the best sausage roll ever. Seriously, ever.
The filling is fluffy and light but extremely tasty and hearty. Some sausage roll pastry leaves a greasy coating in your mouth... but never here... the pastry is always magnificent and you can tell made with the right stuff. I'm serious. It's the best sausage roll. Ever.
This shop is almost mythological. If you manage to catch it while it's open it will grant you three wishes. And also sell you a pie. Quite a nice pie, too.
EDIT: Due to the consistency of its foretold appearance, I will grant thee an extra star.
Exceptional pies. All hand made in house. They often have a lot of people in at lunch time so I'd recommend getting in early. The hands down best is the spag boo pie and cauliflower cheese! Cute names for them too. Great spot. Limited seating outdoor only.
