😱Lizzie’s first impression: I've walked past here many a times but finally decided to give it a try. It was a Thursday night and it was very lively so it looked quite promising.
🍩Lizzie enjoyed: We opted for the Tteokbokki and added extra Ramen and that came out surprisingly big. Loved that they had fish cakes as well as rice cakes two ways (the tubes and the flat ones). It also had fried gyozas on top which was a great addition to the dish.
We also tried the bibimbap with beef and it was delicious - loved the authenticity of the dish by putting them into the hot stone bowls rather than just a black bowl. They also gave a unboiled egg yolk which was great when mixed with the rice.
🍅Lizzie did not enjoy: The space is quite small in there but I think they have an upstairs area so make sure you book beforehand.
🥇Lizzie rates overall: Staff was really friendly and I loved the dishes that I tried. I will be back.
I have been here a few times and must say I am very impressed. For a small restaurant tucked away, the food is really nice, premises are really clean and staff are friendly.
I definately recommend the spicey pork rice meal. Very filling and only $12!
It's easily to walk pass sool without noticing, the restaurant is small but great if you wanna have a small gathering with friends after work.

The place is pretty cosy and chill, though the seats in front can be cold in the winter. Been here twice and the staffs were friendly, though the first time our food took a while :')
The bulgogi stew was yummy and perfect for winter, with ample amount of meat and good flavour.
The kimchi pancake was good, size and flavour wise, but bit oily/soggy.
Egg roll was average, the size and amount of cheese could be bigger.
Lastly, the LA Galbi was enjoyable, meat was marinated well and though could be softer. It's a bit of a messy dish tho lol.
Side dishes vary, but usually three and they're quite good.
Overall, a pretty good Korean eatery, with a higher price mark

Must try this place if you are in Melbourne
Rearrange the first two letters of this place and you get Tool Song. And being a fan of Tool, The Dear Luncher likes this. Tool are a great band, is Sool Tong a great restaurant?
The answer is YES.
As readers of The Dear Luncher will know, he has quite the penchant for fried chicken and/or Karaage. Sool Tong manages to combine this particular delicacy with the old fashioned hand-roll and it is sensational. Glazed extremely well with just a hint of spice, these rolls were right up there with the best Your Dear Luncher has come across. Compact and tightly rolled, no skimping on the chicken – plenty packed in. The black rice option costs 20 cents more, but it’s worth it.
The only downside of the whole experience, the cash only factor. Written up on the wall behind the counter is a wifi password. So there’s wifi, but no card facilities. Extremely annoying in this day and age. But they made up for it with the superb rolls.

There are many foods I want to eat here!! I was so happy. Fresh sashimi and spicy fish soup were really delicious. The Monkfish Jjim was common and spicy. The female staff of the hall is friendly,
BEST BROWN RICE! teriyaki chicken and curry are absolutely delicious and so affordable. one of the best hidden gems in melbourne, you haveee to upgrade to their speciality brown rice that is full of beancurd, perfectly cooked cubes of carrot and three different whole grains. delicious!
Went here on Tuesday night before Anzac day with my colleagues. We ordered a lot~ the tteokbokki(?) is lovely! The corn cheese a bit burnt on the side, but taste really tasty! The bulgogi stew is tasty as well, once it cooked, the beef is tender and the soup is nice. We also ordered the egg cheese, which taste just okay for me + budae jiggae! A bit spicy but very nice hehe And the spicy fried chick thingy IS A MUST! Haha I think around 2ish is their last order! However we managed to order a lot of beer and soju!
Since discovering this little eatery, I’ve become a regular customer. The sushi hand rolls are my favourite - ingredients are fresh, with good quality nori, and overall makes a great tasting sushi. I tend to get them takeaway as the restaurant is so close to my workplace.
Absolutely love this place. A cool spot to chill and great ambience to have a drink with a friend over good food and soju. Experimented with pretty much every dish. Top are: crab soup, sashimi platter, boiled octopus, fried chicken, deep fried flounder.
First, plus side. Service was great, staff was friendly and patient when explaining things from menu.
Food is leaning more towards seafood and when we went, there are a few in the menu that we wanted to order that's not available.
This place can be a little noisy. if you're looking for a place to have a drink and lively chat with your friends then this is the place.
One of the few places open at night post 10pm in the city. Has decent fried chicken, great soups/stews, and delicious tempura items. Has become a staple rotation for nights of Korean cravings.
Great place for korean food. The fried chicken was well fried and not dry and the beef short rib soup was delicious. There's quite a wide variety of things on the menu including drinks There's plenty of room in the resturant and well ventilated - staff were friendly and nice as well. Would definately come back!
Yummy, but cant order large size sashimi even we just arrived at opening time.. So we order M size and S size for sashimi. A bit noisy atmosphere, good for drinking.
Great, tasty and ok value Korean food for night time. Strong flavours, hot and delicious spices. Been a few times already, and will be back again.
I was on a work trip to melbourne from Sydney and I wanted to grab some food and drinks with a colleague so I went to sool tong. We wanted to try little bit of variety of menu with our drinks so we ordered the chef's special hansang menu. We were very satisfied with the taste and the waitress was very friendly. I would definitely return when I visit Melbourne again.
A very cosy place to be, especially on a winter night, order some hotpot and sashimi, and some Korean soju
