Rapt to find a place that was open between Christmas and New Years when every other place is closed for holidays!
Even more impressed to discover a hidden gem. Not your typical basic shopping centre cafe, their La Marzocco coffee machine and modern menu elevate this cafe to be on point in Melbourne’s competitive cafe scene.
They offer a full, interesting breakfast and lunch menu and coffee was great.
Definitely recommend, would go back again.
I went off hot chocolates because I couldn't find anyone who could make a nice creamy one. By chance I had one at cottage café and it was the best hot chocolate I've ever had (especially if the blonde girl Kellie makes it). The risotto was also delicious.
I chose the ‘Pumpkin and Chive Roll ($5.00)’. The roll had a beautiful, sweet flavour and made a welcome change to the common spinach and ricotta roll... One of my dining companions picked the ‘Sausage Roll ($3.60)’. My other dining companion went with the ‘Ham and Cheese Croissant ($6.00)’.
Finally, a decent cafe conveniently located in Blackburn square. While I wouldn’t go out of my way to go there, this cafe has good coffee, reliable service, so can’t complain!
Ordered the potato rosti, refreshing flavours that went well with a crispy rosti. The beetroot relish was a bit too sweet for my liking. Could consider expanding their cold drink menu as we're fairly into the warmer months. Overall satisfied customer :)
Fast service. We had skinny flat white and chocolate cookie. It was good flat white without a lot of froth. My boy enjoyed his cookie as usual.
Eat here a lot and have great coffee, friendly, fast service and perfect poached eggs. The variety and quality of food is really good with the new cooks changing things up, introducing new specials and a fresh vibe.
The outdoor seating area, which is dog-friendly, has been improved with the change from wood to glass surround, there is bright, local art on the walls and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.
A great place for a quick coffee and cake, yummy lunch or take away wraps, pies etc.

The best local coffee shop in Blackburn North. Kellie makes the best barrister coffee you will get and the service is always prompt and friendly. Awesome pizzas and burgers on the lunch menu. Puppy friendly as well so your best mate can with you and enjoy the coffee with you.
Fabulous service!! The staff are super friendly and go above and beyond in remembering my name and asking how I am!! I'm a bit of a fuss pot when it comes to coffee, but I know I can always count on them for the superb morning caffeine hit!! You guys are awesome!! Thank you!!
