Goodness gracious me. The chilli bowl delivered at this branch of Crisp (and presumably others) is something to admire. A bowl steeped in freshness and the right balance of ingredients. Not too much coriander to offend the coriander haters and just the right level of sour-cream to ensure a good texture once spread out evenly. The spinach leaves and tortilla chips add the crunch. Think burrito bowl, but healthy. Think Chilli Con Carne, but with a bit more style and substance. The Dear Luncher has not yet been let down by any Crisp store, it’s consistently worth your time and money.

A newish place that opened near our office is Crisp, part of a chain of salad/ health-eating type things and as well as a handy location, it promises dreams and visions of a slimmer, fitter you. Back in the day the focus wasa DIY salad combo and I ended up with a twist on a chicken caesar. And at the over $10 mark it doesn’t really quite deliver and the ratio is just all wrong. You get about 75% lettuce, shredded chicken and token amounts of the other things you were hoping more of. Overall it’s a big bowl but at a reduced satisfaction level.Lentil dahl, with coriander, yoghurt and brown rice
In my experience if you want a real stand-out salad you need to pay for it. Your typical cafe or food shop isn't up for the time, effort and ingredients needed to really make a salad sing. And whilst Crisp isn't a five star kinda salad bar, for the price and convenience, they hit the mark. My favourite is the chicken chipotle - which is loaded layer of flavour. For me that's the mark of a good salad. My go-to choice for a quick and easy salad lunch in Sth Melb.
Amazing place. The salad is fresh and crisp. Choices are perfect for all taste buds and the prices are very generous. I had a pulled pork salad and I have no regrets the pork was soft,juicy and had plenty of flavour in it, paired with beautiful salad ingredients it was a great lunch. Il be back again for sure.
I ordered Superfood detox and its was refreshingly tasty and appetising. Salad was very fresh and made to order on the spot. My husband ordered Pulled pork tortilla. I had a taste of his and it was a generous portion of pork. Would recommend this salad place to all.
I made my own salad - cos, felaffels, edamame, Parmesan, tomatoes, and jalapeño with spicy tahini dressing. Fresh and crisp. Needed a bit more dressing. Nice and filling, priced at $11. I'll be back
