Great place to get a bowl of delicious congee - my favourite is the century egg and pork with the Chinese gluten sticks (combo). Such an affordable and satisfying meal. My parents always eat there when they are in the city and I decided to give it a go. Can't wait to return for another bowl!

Tasting Notes Melbourne

This brand is super tasty, the egg pancake with fried doughnut and pork floss is a 'go to' for a quick breakfast. Only downfall is that the staff are hard to communicate with which is why it's so popular with Chinese yet not so big amongst westerners.. but i do suggest for people to opt for this as a cheaper alternative to a cafe breakfast.. it's delicious.

Soy milk is a must have when visiting this store.

Congee and Jian Bing is also a must try!

Love coming here for cheap Taiwanese street food/snacks. Don't expect anything fancy or healthy though. Service isn't that great but to be honest for a small 'fast food' place like this, it really doesn't matter. Yum!

Tried their bahn mi or vietnamese baguette today. I ordered no.7 grilled pork sausage roll. The baguette was really crispy and the sausage was so good! It has Vietnamese sauce which is quite strong it might be too strong to someone but i like it.

quite a range of Asian snack food and drinks that I have never tried before, and that I want to try.. but oh, those calories!! I miss eating hawker street food in Asia, so I was happy this chain started in Melbourne a few years ago.

A great place for Chinese style breakfast, normally I only get takeaway. Congee with century egg combo with Chinese doughnut is my favorite, pretty much I order the same thing every time. Will always come back for more!

Nice place for to go snacks. Affordable and fast, but tasty as well. Tried the pork pie, the bread was thin and had a nice bite in it. The pork filling was tasty and savory. Made it a very satisfying snack. Almost like flat gyoza.

It's the only place opened at 9am. Besides the 24/7 ramen joint down the street. I was craving dumplings so gave mr. Kitchen a try! It's pretty yummy, especially when you don't feel like having a 7 eleven sandwich for breakfast! Meat filling is generous, price is good!

Congee & donut stick is the most traditional and Chinese signature breakfast, those in Mr. Kitchen are not authentic but still taste good. It's hard to find donut stick made in thw original way, isn't? lol

Don’t know why this place has not reached 5 star when the food is just so good. Not sure but by the look and type of dishes they serves looks like a typical Asian street food which is just amazing. The price is reasonable and the potion too. What I ordered was just a cold noodles and they just made it right there and then! A lot of places these days don’t make fresh food since they cut back on staff but beside being busy and having less staff this place still does look after their customer’s need. Will definitely recommend!
