High price. not really valuable. But lovely food and ambience.Friendly service. the house is my favorite superb old style and so relaxing setting. i had a great time catching up with my lady friend. sweet and enjoy weekend.
We had a lovely High Tea to celebrate Mum’s 88th birthday. Lovely food and ambience . We enjoyed having our tea with teapots and fine China teacups . Mum asked if we can come back next year !!!
A traditional english mansion set along the busy military road is the last place I would expect to find a tea room but the place offers perfect escape from the hustle and bustle outside its front gates.
We ordered the classic high tea, which came with a selection of petit fours, finger sandwiches, cakes and scones. My favourites were the goats cheese and sundried tomato tarts and the salmon blinis. I wasn't quite expecting pasta salad as a petit four though.
Quite enjoyed the scones as it was quite soft and airy but perhaps not as crumbly as I would have liked. On the dessert end, the raspberry tart and chocolate mousse were also quite delightful. The rest of the items tasted average but overall the entire tray was quite delectable.
Its a great place to bring a close one for afternoon tea or have an event such as a baby shower. Staff here are exceptionally accommodating. They took time to explain all the menu elements and carefully catered to all of our plentiful dietary requirements.
If you can get a discount voucher (as we did), this is a lovely high tea with some truly sublime scones on offer. The house and grounds are neat and the food is good - but neither spectacular enough to warrant the extra dollars involved.
Had we paid full price, I am confident we would have been disappointed with the offering - however at the price we actually paid, we were pretty happy with what we got.
The Boronia House was a delightful location for a gift to my best friend. The service can be improved, but the food was lovely and the table-wear was adorable. Extra cream and jam was requested for the mini scones, and they did not disappoint. The variety of tastes provided mingled wondrously, and this accompanied with the beautiful setting made the experience much more delightful. If you're looking for a sweet little gathering with delectable treats, then the Boronia House is the place for you.

The crispy crunchy topping went so well with the creamy cheese and the flavoursome mushroom. Mmm yum!
Second time to Boronia House for high tea, have loved it both times. The Service is fantastic from booking/phone calls/dietary requirements to on the day service. Food is delicious and always more than enough, it’s nice how they change the menu seasonally. The setting is relaxed, perfect for a long lazy afternoon! Highly recommend and would definitely come back.
Bought a high tea set for two from Groupon. Very appreciate the food quality except the desserts. Their scones, sandwiches and pastries were beautiful. However I think there can be improvement for the sweets. The lady who serve us was very nice. Will definitely recommend to my friends come have a visit.
We celebrated our combined 60th Birthday at Boronia House and have received many compliments from our guests. Everyone said that they were the BEST scones they’ve EVER eaten. Beatrice and the other staff were extremely attentive & helped everything run smoothly. Nothing seemed to be a problem for them. They even found masking tape and Blu-tac that we’d forgotten, to hang our decorations. Guests with allergies were happy and full as were all guests. We had the lovely private room upstairs with access to the balcony which was perfect. Thanks John for listening well to our needs. This venue is highly recommended & we’ll be back again.
We had our wedding here, in the day time and between the food, the setting, the service & the weather, it was absolutely perfect. John - the manager - is so accommodating & makes every part of the planning so easy. We just went back on the weekend to celebrate out 1 year anniversary and the new chef Blake is outstanding. Cannot wait to go back to try their new high tea options :). The food is SO yummy and the setting is just beautiful.
Such a shame this place is now closed. Mum and i visited on a trip up from Melbourne last year. Mum said the next trip she'd quite happily make just to visit this place. It was a lovely experience, faultless, lovely food, staff and ambience. It's also very disappointing to read some people with very few reviews under their belt give 1 star and an eruption of hate. Perhaps they could try writing a nice review one-day it might give them some inner peace. So sorry that Covid got the better of this place. You've obviously made a lot of people happy during your time of trading. I wish you all the luck in the world for any new adventures. 💐
This beautiful heritage home is an oasis in the midst of traffic chaos. We were seated by one of the open French doors overlooking the garden which was really lovely. The service was really good. We were given a choice of when we wanted our tea (of which there was a huge selection) etc. glasses replenished with water and the food was generous and delicious. Love the china. We will definitely return. The atmosphere was relaxing, the food great, staff attentive, what more could you want.
