Fantastic food here, love the interior and service is just perfect! Dine here and expect to be well looked after. A regular customer with nothing to fault at this Chinese Restaurant. Love the lemon chicken here, deep fried ice-cream and banana split. Quality food with quality service.
Does My Bomb Look Big In This

Walking into Liu Rose is like entering a James Bond movie – The Man With The Golden Gun (1974) to be precise - which was shot in The Sea Palace, a floating restaurant in Hong Kong’s Aberdeen Harbour that was completed in 1958. Even with a more recent external mural, the darkened glass exterior gives little hint of the rich visual treasure that lies within. While the padded red leather surrounds of the well-stocked bar might have faded, the restaurant’s fabulous ceiling – erected in 1971 – trots along unchanged. Hexagonal ceiling features frame shaded chandeliers that cast light upwards so you can see the jade green ceiling details. Circular red and gold door arches take you through from bar to dining space where cleverly moderated late afternoon light adds even more sparkle to the shiny gold walls. There’s a fish tank room divider...
My wife and I always love coming here but, for one reason or another, hadn’t been for several years.
It was a Saturday night. We had actually booked somewhere else (Cedrus in Ryde), to celebrate my wife’s business being shortlisted for an award. But we had an unfortunate experience there and left. Surprisingly, when we phoned the Liu Rose they had room for us.
It was packed when we got there, but we still had a nice table and were taken there promptly. The staff were attentive, helpful and friendly - one in particular was very jovial and joked with us and other guests several times.
The food was magnificent, as it always is here. We had the marinated calamari, beef with honey and pepper and the mixed vegetables with nuts. It was all wonderfully tasty and easily enough to sate our appetite.
A fabulous night out.
Highly recommended.
A great review would not do justice. While the food is okay, the onions were undercooked, They are kind of like a fast food restaurant. Also TAKEAWAY as there is extra 3 or 4 dollars to sit down and eat...I guess its for the service and the tea and that.
This place is practically a Concord institution, I have been going to Liu Rose with my family since I was little and as an adult I continue to go back again and again. Great variety and great taste!
The food was delicious and the service was fast and friendly. The only thing that I would fault is that the serving sizes were a little small. If it hadn't been for that I would give them 5 stars.
Can't fault this place at all the staff are great and very friendly.
Tried the spring roll and dim.sum as starters lovely flavours and the spring rolls weren't greasy as happens in some cases. Main course of duck and flaming pork ribs. Superb dishes tasty full of flavour.
One of the best Chinese restaurants I've dined in and very well.priced.
Lots of variety, great, friendly and super helpful service with tasty food that is full of flavour!
Decor is decked out and very traditional. We didn't feel like we were dining in Sydney!
Great service with staff always friendly and smiling, food suitable for kids (Mongolian lamb was a big hit) as well as
adults , wide variety of choices and food was very tasty. There is a VIP private room which could fit 18 people.
Haha, this place. From the outside its dark, like noone every goes there.
Well, do try it. Their shantong chicken is really amazing. Their sizzling plates and bomba alaska are great if with friends. I personally love eating here when i feel like fancy food court chinese. Very westernised chinese and so is the clientele but the decor is outstanding you feel like you stepped back in time.
Its got a goos realestate size but severely underutilized. The waiters are very good though. And very process orientated.
I love the vibe. Its very eccentric. The other thing is, the fried ice cream with cheap chocolate syrup is so nostalgia.
