Stumbled upon this place while I was searching for a well-priced Irish restaurant. After looking at their menu and seeing they do a full Irish breakfast until 3pm (a meal which my partner loves) I decided we had to go! Adorable open set up, super friendly redheaded lady working the bar. My partner got the full Irish breakfast and I got the veggie brekkie. I had read the meal sizes were huge and they are! Neither of us finished our plates! My partner compliment the black pudding saying it wasn't as strong as others he has had. My toast was still warm when it hit our table, which I feel is always impressive. My mushrooms looked a bit dry but once I tucked into them, they were still very juicy. We will absolutely be going here again!
It was what it was, and it was good.
Irish pub. Simple.
Bonus was the decent espresso martini, however the mojito was mostly from the post mix tap.
Still, the pint was grand.
We ordered from the brunch menu at 2:15pm. I considered the waffles with bacon and maple syrup. But hey, breakfast is not constricted by time.
Settled on the grilled chicken burger with salad, slaw and chips. Chicken was well seasoned and well cooked.
The chips were excellent.
As nice as my dish was, I needn't have ordered it. Why? Because DoubleKickChick ordered the Mexican Irishman. Or the Irish Mexican. Whatever.
It was narchoss. Beef. Taco style. Onions tomato and guac. It was fresh af Hahahahhahaha. Fresh. AF.
Oh and they've got booths. Love a good booth.
It was a bloody good Irish joint. Really likes it and I'll put in effort to return.
Lo
The Cure is a typical looking Irish bar with great food.
Portion size is huge, I ordered the Taco Chips, they were so tasty and I wish I could have finished them. Ms. D ordered the Chicken Curry, an equally big dish. The curry sauce was to die for and Ms. D left full and content.
We were two happy ladies leaving.
Called in with daughter for a very early dinner before heading home. Daughter had Chicken Parma and I had the Seafood Chowder.
Parma was well presented and apparently was nice. Seafood Chowder was to die for and I will be going back for that alone! It was the best I have had since holidaying in San Francisco and was a huge serving. I have never had so many decent sized prawns in any dish that I have ordered in a restaurant.
Compliments on the chowder hands down.
Great lunch specials. Can never go wrong with the steak special! Will always keep it in mind for pub grub! Very large serves and staff are always patient and friendly. Keep it up guys! Cheers
Big meals. Very big meals. I got the stuffed chicken fillet and was so full I could only eat half - certainly a serving size more suited for two people but hey, that's ok.
Decent pub food. We visited the Tavern on a Wednesday night. It wasn't very busy to start off with, but people kept coming in as the night progressed. They had a good special on - dinner & pint for $15. You could choose any meal from the menu, plus a pint of beer or a glass of house wine. We chose to order some Traditional Irish Stew and Fish & Chips, accompanied by a glass of red and white wine. Portion size was just right - not excessive, but enough to fill the stomach. The stew tasted ok, but it wasn't overly special. It contained chunks of lamb, potatos, turnips, onions and carrots. The bread that came out with it was inedible - clumpy and wet, it didn't seem to be baked properly. Fish & chips came with a salad, peas, tartar souce and hand-cut chips. The fish was grilled just right, chips were chunky and crispy and the salad was nicely dressed. Peas made for an interesting addition.
Yummy Food and Good Service. We had the beef and Guinness pie and the Irish bacon and cabbage with mashed potato. Both meals were very good and also very large. You won't go hungry. Good pub food. Service was friendly and efficient and we did not have to wait long for our meals.
Never full. I love the place, but its just never busy. if you enjoy sitting in an empty pub and having a pint for $6 then this is the place for you. I have been more than a few times (for lunch and dinner) and the place seems to repeal people but I like it enough to keep coming back . staff are very friendly the place has a chilled vibes and Irish tunes in the background once in a while. the food is ok , its of a pub grade and their restaurant is not exactly fine dinning. out of 10 I would give it a 5 for great staff and having happy hour 2 times a day in the city :)
Good Grub. I and a few m8's went down to the Cure Tavern for dinner the other week trying to branch out from our usual regular spot. The location is pretty decent in Northbridge providing plenty of parking for those who drive (unlike the Brass Monkey). The food was pretty guud, real traditional irish pub stuff with very large servings (also unlike the brass monkey). One downside I must say was the lack of a specials menu which even the most grubby places seem to provide these days. But non the less the consensus was that it was worth paying a little bit extra for the quality.
Entertainment was provided by a large flatscreen tv, two dart boards and fleskins many rants which seem to pass the time quite well and create a bit of fun. The only downside to the place seemed to be the lack of other customers making the place feel a little odd. I probs would go back to this place because the grub is quite guud whether it will becomes a regular is up to f8.
Simple but tasty. A few of us went here during lunch time a few months back & have been addicted since. The food is consistent and extremely tasty. The menu is very broad with a great variety to choose from. My favourite is the stuffed chicken fillet. With regard the staff, I have never seen such hospitable staff who seem to enjoy the work they do. They are so welcoming. We are now regulars at The Cure Tavern and would highly recommend to go try it out. You wont be disappointed.
Value for money!. I think this place used to be the Harry's bar which I have never been.
Setting: A bar straight in front of your eyes when you walk in. There are a little courtyard on the left and a row of table on the right.
Food: Rump Steak with chip. Big serving! (like) crunchy chips (like) with mushroom gravy (like). Choc mud cake (nice but can get too sweet), strawberry pavlova (sweet & chewy).
Service: Excellent! The waitress was very friendly and very helpful - thumbs up!
Atmosphere: Good place for work mate drinks. It was quite noisy as there are a lot of people in safety vest at the bar drinking.
Overall: Good value for money!
Great food and service. Went there for dinner recently on a discount voucher. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Had a main and dessert each, the meals were tasy and very generous serves, we were too full to eat the desserts (even though they looked great). Highly recommend this place.
Pretty Good. Staff are all friendly and welcoming. Food is tasty and plentiful. Decor and atmosphere casual. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Different dinner specials on week nights. If you are hungry this is worth a visit.
