Exemplary service, great food, world class coffee. Simply one of the best cafés in Melbourne for a value experience. Worth a trip out of the city and the locals must love having this place on their doorstep!
The staff are amazing! Welcoming, smiley, down to earth and just friendly. Great coffee and decor is on point. Definitely coming back.
A dream breakfast for every single sweet tooth! 🤤
FOOD: I ordered the ‘Ricotta Hotcakes’ and it was magnificent! Every cafe’s pancakes should be yelling “Mayday” bcs Mayday has got their pancakes to be amazing!! The peanut butter mascarpone is CRAZY and together with the chocolate ganache... lord NAME A BETTER DUO I’LL WAIT. The pancakes were delicious as well but not as chewy as I’d usually like but I’m definitely not gonna complain. The raspberry jam was CRAZY amazing, if you like jam you’ll love this and I’m not a jam person but this might have TURNED me!! I absolutely LOVED this dish and would definitely return for their Canadian Hotcakes 👀
SERVICE: Service is friendly and great!
Mayday is a roomy cafe that feels very neighbourhood-esque and has a menu that incorporates classics but putting a great twist to it! Their food is amazing and the cafe vibe is lovely! The whole cafe is roomy and comfortable and I loooved it here! 10/10 would return
Love the chilli cheese scramble 🤤 (because it has cheese in it 👻) and everything's great I have nothing to complaint about. Interior is not overly fancy so if you like minimalist design then this place is for you ☺️

Quick breakfast before we go to the footy. I had the waffles (buttermilk) and they were so fluffy and light with plenty of options to pour over them. Delicious! Ricotta cakes for my friend that were also fabulous with a colourful array of berries, mascarpone etc. on top.
The coffee was pretty good and not too much froth on my latte. Liked their attention to detail. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Portion sizes are very good - always plenty on the plate. They do cater for dietaries, so just let them know what your requirements are.
Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Pram/stroller accessible. Reasonable parking.
Went there by accident. Nice Richmond cafe on bridge road with friendly staff and easy to find. The place is pretty and not too busy. Good quality and taste😚. Coffee is also excellent.
Stumbled across this cosy cafe while strolling along Richmond with my partner. Cafe was crowded so thought we would try it out.
Staff were super lovely and greated us to our table. Menu was simple and straightforward.
I ordered a long black coffee and a salmon bagel, while my partner ordered a benedict. Coffee came pretty quickly and was really good.
Salmon bagel - Love love love!! Not your usual salmon bagel with capers and avocado, but with a refreshing egg salad which matched perfectly. The bagel was toasted just nice with the perfect amount of crisp. Overall great dish and definitely recommend!
Benedict - Presentation was lovely! Again, not your typical eggs benny served on sourdough. The benny was served on a home-made beignet, texture was super soft and tasted amazing! Eggs were cooked perfectly and the bacon was thick and on point.
Will definitely be back again to try the other breakfast dishes.
Mayday, Mayday, Mayday! Richmond Radar, the Melbourne Cafe Hunters engine failure forced landing at 410 Bridge Road. It’s a good thing they have nourishing breakfast options, which are both delicious and wholesome.
If you’ve sent out a distress signal due to hungry pang, then the Ricotta Hotcakes are sure to answer your call. They’re stacked with berries, peanuts, salted caramel popcorn, and peanut butter mascarpone; and served on a bed of chocolate ganache.
It paired well with the Ethiopian Batch Brew, care of beans roasted by Axil.
Great coffee and food, staff are super friendly as well.
Steak sandwich is probably the best I've had, would love some french fries or chips on the side though.
Had a pretty good soy flat white here out on the front tables. The space is large, the staff are nice, the service is prompt. I can't complain based on what I've experienced so far. I'd come back to try what looks like an interesting menu.
Mayday is hands down my favourite Richmond cafe - the poached eggs, waffles and the secret menu item the ménage-a-trois are my absolute favourites! The staff are amazingly attentive and it’s always got good vibes.
Mayday deserves a full 5 for the quality, taste, service and value.
Everything we ordered from the smoked salmon to Slow cooker Brisket to Burger was very good. Even the coffee and hot chocolates were awesome
Although the menu was very very brief (and after overpowering our initial inhibition) we had a fab time.
This cafe, like many others, is Vegan and Vegetarian friendly.
A must.
