Yummmm...Laksa
The bottom of the Hilton in Surfers Paradise contains 'Chop Chop' which bills itself as the home of Asian street food but is more like the food court you might find in a mall. A lot of uninspiring choices and...Yum Cha.
I chose it because the restaurant seemed to be doing a good business and they had laksa noodle soup on the menu. I ordered the 'combo' and it was quite tasty - seafood, poultry, and pork over noodles in a spicy, delicious curry and coconut infused broth.
It's a pay at the counter and display a number card kind of place so service wasn't really on offer. The decor while a bit dreadful was a cut above most of the other restaurants. And they do have a small children's play area to entertain the youngsters.
Had dinner here last night
Not bad even tho it was not what was in the picture I choose for our options
Food was tasty which was good and came out nice and hot!
Next time I am in Gold Coast we will definitely stop in to try something else on the menu
Thanks
Surprisingly good! Salt and pepper squid were good as well as the noodle. Will come back.
I ordered the roast duck on rice and to my surprise there were no bones, so it made my meal very satisfying.
My partner ordered the garlic chicken noodle soup and that was very tasty as well. Food came out quick, within 10 minutes. However, portion sizing could be better and prices could be cheaper.
Overall good place :)
Good service by staff, who were very polite and friendly. Ordered beef noodle soup which was very tasty. Place was casual and clean, with staff cleaning up immediately after customers leave.
I was finding a nice yum cha place in Gold Coast and go for this one base on rating and review. The menu actually is different from the web I saw, the price is a bit higher but still acceptable. The taste of the food is really nice(not same as HK but comparative). The staff are friendly and polite, the only thing not good is there is 15% surcharge on public holiday! Overall, this is a nice dim sum place in Gold Coast! And I want to try other dishes more but my stomach is small...
Dropped in for lunch today. Quick and decent quality Chinese food (although not quite as good as we are used to in Melbourne). The pan fried pork dumplings were quite tasty although the Shanghai steamed dumplings weren't great.
Tried one of chef recommendation menu, Combination Laksa Noodle Soup. It used thin white noodle, i guess it's rice based noodle. The soup is not too thick and not too spicy despite red chili oil in the surface. It has prawn, fish ball, fried tofu and meat slice (i think its pork bbq, so yummy). Overall, their laksa soup is recommended.
Nice food and a clean restaurant, but lacks the fun of the dim sum cart. All items have to be ordered and paid for at the counter and sauces are on a sharing basis, not on each table and tea had to be ordered also. Nice venue but lacks the bustle
Ordered beef noodle soup and beef rice dish. Portion is ok. A bit small, taste is good. A bit sweet. But everything is good compare to other Chinese food in the area. Can be very busy so go there early or make booking. Toilet is outside not far next to the stairs
