Beautifully presented food. Tasty too with unique flavours. I like how they put in effort for each dish to create a flavour combo that is both different and special. There are plenty of fine dining establishments that do not do this for plant based dishes. Had a great evening. The only downside was the very, very slow service. Many instances when we needed something and couldn't get any help because the waiters didn't frequent/look in our area often. Even when they didn't have anything to do and were standing there, I think they just forgot about our table. Nonetheless, I would recommend highly for the food.
Love everything about this place. Food, service and vibe here is top notch. Fine dining with a relaxed vibe. It's a hidden gem. Every dish here is perfection.
The vegetarian set menu is delicious! The savoury highlight of the night was definitely the roasted king brown mushroom and the chocolate dessert is every sweet tooth's heaven. Would definitely recommend for your next special occasion.
The Gantry is situated on the dock, inside a hotel in Darling Harbor. The location is excellent and contrary to other reviews, the service was professional and friendly.
There is a limited a la carte menu, however, it was really good.
What was confusing and disappointing was the fact that we were charged for 2 bottles of still water. Sydney's drinking water is safe, so there was no need to charge for bottled water.

If only every meal could be like this. My co-diner and I arrived on a Saturday night, which apparently means the tasting menu is the only menu offered, but that was fine. After some Spencer Gulf kingfish done sashimi-style we moved onto steamed Murray cod with broccolini, almonds and green garlic, followed by roast chicken with celeriac, braised leeks and comte. Every dish shone and there wasn't a step out of place. The menu also showcased some great native produce, such as the grilled Paroo kangaroo with thin slices of kumara, hot little padron peppers and green romesco (a green romesco! It still worked). It was a cold night but in a surprise move we were given blankets to put over our laps by the warm and attentive staff. One of the best parts about the meal was that it wasn't all fine dining with everything on the bill and nothing on the plate - they fed us properly and we left very happy. Whatever you're doing Gantry it's working, so don't change and please keep doing it. Five stars.
The staff were very friendly and the ambience was good. I did enjoy the food. The food display was beautiful and the food was delicious. The restaurant is next to the beautiful harbour. It's very easy to book in a table - book on zomato and I received booking confirmation in just a few minutes.
The ambience is nice, mostly driven by the location (waterside, next to/underneath the Harbour Bridge). The outdoor seating in Summer is best if really waterside, the remaining seats aren’t quite at the level of this price point.
We went with the vegetarian degustation, and the overall taste was good. The serving portions are certainly too large - this lead to struggling to finish or even taste some of the later courses of the 6-course menu.
The highlight was the confit globe artichoke, and I would say the low point of the meal was the miso braised eggplant. The roast king brown mushrooms were excellent, especially with the potato roesti, however these were distracted by too many elements to the dish. The chocolate with dulce de leche ice cream desert was certainly a great way to finish.
Overall, I would recommend it as a one off experience. Definitely felt that less is more when it came to food itself.

Lunch at The Gantry was a lovely experience and we really enjoyed the food, service and ambience. For the entree and mains, we shared the honey bug with macadamia, the kangaroo fillet with beetroot and the duck sausage. My friend preferred the kangaroo while I was partial to the duck sausage. Despite the sausage being a bit dry, due to lack of fat perhaps, I loved the flavours and textures of the meat with the pickled pumpkin. Dessert was a whole other level. We started with the green apple sorbet with meringue and the warm pumpkin cake. They were so delicious, we decided that we needed to try another dessert, the chocolate capsule. This was basically an adult Snickers bar and also lived up to our lofty expectations. The one hiccup of the day was when we found a piece of plastic in the kangaroo dish. However the important thing was that they dealt with it swiftly and professionally. Definitely an A++ for service recovery. The service staff were also friendly and efficient which also contributed to a seamless dining experience. We were lucky to be seated outside on a clear sunny day that have us some lovely views. Would not hesitate to recommend The Gantry for a special occasion.
The food was average, nothing amazing.. service was good though. We were seated outside by the water which was nice, it had a beautiful view and very suitable for date night. I recommend ordering the crispy chicken and squid dish!

This new restaurant, opened only 2-3 months ago, is highly recommended. The menu was well considered and matching wines were delicious. We were seated outside and loved the atmosphere. Each course was wonderfully cooked and presented, especially the wagyu. Friendly and efficient service topped off a great night.
I love how this fine dining restaurant is pet friendly. Everyone could bring their fluffy puppies to enjoy the meal and have such wonderful experience.
I had a vegetarian set menu and everything was delicious and the portions were very decent as well. Can't wait to visit again soon.
The food, service and attention to detail is fantastic. I strongly appreciated the staff being so informative with the dishes as they served them, it made the experience more enjoyable. If you also happen to celebrate a special occasion such as an anniversary which was our case, The Gantry is a great choice, and we’re very grateful for their consideration and special treatment.
Just had the amazing 4 course vegetarian tasting menu from here and it did not disappoint. Lovely staff and incredible food. A must see!
I had the 4 course meal and the food divine. Only my second time having course meals, but definitely the best place I’ve been to. The turkey breast and leg and the carrots were the best. Not sure what they did but it was the best carrot I’ve ever had. Went for my 1 year anniversary and they organised a cute dessert as well which was much appreciated. The server (Jun) was amazing, made the whole experience way better, gotta give credit to Jun for making the night a really special experience. Will be coming here again for special occasions!

Outstanding food, service and atmosphere. Rhys and the team in the kitchen are producing dishes they should be really proud of. The Chef’s Selection was amazing, the dishes were exciting, delicious and perfectly suited to the setting.
