Loved by the locals of Mascot, and opened at 5:45am everyday, it makes a good pit stop before flying out ✈
Classic is the way to go with the standard pork roll but they also do have a chicken lemongrass roll which is something you don't usually see! Would revisit to try it 😋
Amazing flavour, same quality everytime. I don't mind queuing. Our family loves it. Fresh food, tasty sandwiches. Yum yum yum.... We tried them many years ago when living locally but we still come from our new location.
Every time we go pass here there is always a queue outside which is usually an indication it’s good and we’d have to say we agree, we love the pork rolls from here.
During lunch, there is a long line, so try arrive slightly earlier or go later. Pretty up there in terms of one of the best pork rolls I've eaten in Sydney. Prices have gone up but still one of the cheapest (if not cheapest) lunches around the area!
Got takeway pork rolls from here. Quality of the bun is really top notch. Its crispy on the outside and soft inside. Pork slices are really nice and just the right amount of sauce.
Amazingggg and the rolls are always crispy and warm. This place is definitely my favorite which is why i keep coming back. Try this place out! You won't be disappointed
Pretty good pork rolls, not giving it a 5 star because the marrickville one is still the best one.
The pork is good, carrots are crunchy, but the sauce didnt leave an impression. It’s less spicy than marrickville though so it’s better if you are just looking for a little bit of a kick.
always count on this place for the best vietnamese rolls in sydney! I absolutely love their chicken one; they load it with fresh yummy salad and dont over do it on the mayo. utter perfection.
I found the opportunity on the weekend to get out to Hong Ha. I have heard from a few people that the best banh mi is a contest between Hong Ha and Marrickville Pork Roll.
I got out there before 8am and it was a brisk business already. I got my pork roll promptly. What can I say ..... fabulous bread roll - incredibly soft on the inside but so crunchy on the crust. Generous and well balanced filling. Overall, an excellent pork roll.
So, how did it compare against Marrickville Pork Roll? It was great but I’ll give the prize to Marrickville Pork Roll!
They deleted my last review of this place because I'm assuming I mentioned the name of a political party that was popular in Germany around the early 1900's.
Im assuming the auto delete algorithm that deleted my review doesn't even know that the reference that I used of the "thing that must not be named" (now I'm referencing that wizard guy with a scratch on his head who was also referencing the German thing) is actually a reference from another New York based Jewish comedian guy who was making fun of the whole messy German situation.
Anyway that's all way to confusing for Mr Auto correct so I'll just say that the Bahn Mi here is Sydneys best. Ordering can be difficult but unlike my review of some places that have rude staff. Think of ordering at this place as an obstacle to getting a worthwhile product. You will often have to wait 25 seconds because they just sold out of bread and they have to pull a fresh steaming batch out of the oven to make your order. Everything else is spot on. Even the massive long line moves fast. They do use fairly hot birds eye chillies, so if you are a bit soft in this department just ask them to leave it off. Double check before you bite in though because asking them for NO CHILLI ! in no way guarantees they won't put it on.
The best part is that like that episode in that comedy show about a Jewish comedian living in New York where they come across a guy that makes such good soup that it's worth the rude abrupt service from the owner?? Well yeah the people at Hong Ha just like that guy in that episode actually also scream NEXXXTTTTTT!!
Good selection of fillings. Bread is crispier than most bakeries I have been but also a bit more expensive. My crispy pork was a bit too fatty for my liking. Chicken is great. Very flavorful. Lemon grass chicken flavor is nice too but bit on the tough side.
Foods was great, watch out as limited supply on certain items like spring roll for example. It's better to visit early during the day.
2:30pm Long Queue over 25-30mins to get serve
Still one of the best Banh Mi in town. Crispy bread roll, right balance of savoury from the sauce and sourness from the pickles and freshness from the herbs. Ask for chill for the kicks if you could handle it. I still come here instead of their other stores.
Good Bahn mi rolls. Very popular with locals, always lines of people waiting. I had the roll with lemon grass chicken $9 which was nice but the seasoning wasn't as strong as expected. The rolls were crispy on the outside soft on the inside. Lovely.
The premier pork roll shop in the Eastern Suburbs. They also have a shop in Bondi Beach. They serve the traditional pork roll on a crispy Vietnamese baguette with pate, mayo, coriander, onion, shallot, carrot. Also alternatives to this like a crispy pork roll; crackling pork! They also do meatball subs, lemongrass chicken and rice noodles bowls, Spring rolls and dimsims. Easy parking in the lot behind Botany Road. Queues get a bit long here so it helps to order ahead or go early; They're open from 6am.
Probably my second favourite Banh Mi in Sydney. They don't jam pack the roll as much as I would like, but the flavours are fantastic. Service is very good as well.
Unbelievably amazing. Honestly. I can't get over their bread, it literally crisps off and melts in your mouth. Each time, never had a bad roll! The fillings are awesome too, they're not stingy at all. I'm use to asking places to put more. But here, I do t have to at all. Amazing!! And actually nice service too! I'm happy to drive 30 min for this once a week.
