Coffee : 😍 Amazing
Hot Chocolate : 😍 Amazing
Service : 😍 Amazing
Opened at crazy hours, Cafe Hernandez always has customers sipping on their infamous coffee. I walked in to get some for takeaway and the coffee didn’t disappoint. It was strong and bold just the way I like it. The hot chocolate was so creamy and smooth like velvet. I’ll admit it is quite pricy but I think it was worth it.
Amazing coffee sourced globally. This tight home style cafe has one of the best coffees I’ve ever had. Busy form early in the morning until very late at night, it’s perfect coffee for anytime of the day. Kind and quick service.
I enjoyed my visit here. The food me and my friends ordered were okay, service was decent. However, this cafe wins with the rustic ambiance and the fact that it is open 24 hours. Not a lot of places in Sydney are open 24 hours (at least ones that I know of). Overall, this is a good place to head to any time of the day to hang out and catch up with friends and I would definitely be going back.
This place was absolutely wonderful. The food was great. Portion sizes are huge and you get a lot for your money. The prices are just right. Not overly expensive. I get to use my Liven App and got $50 bonus.Great food, great environment, great service, and great prices. Can't wait to visit again.
The hot chocolate !!! And a 2 am craving .. 2 winners for cafe Hernandez . The churros were really fresh and while the hot chocolate was a bit different, intense and clumpy in texture , it completely did it for me. However my friend was a bit uncertain whether he liked it or not as it wasn't frothy and milky like those provided by many other cafes. The ambience was very European and artsy. Definitely recommend this place particularly for a date night !
Exactly the place you want at 2am-4am in the morning for Spanish hot chocolate and Churros.
24hrs...
"Thick Spanish Hot Chocolate with 2 Churro thanks"...
Once you try this you will crave it!
On the odd occasions the "thick" isn't so thick... but its always still good!
The coffee beans are great also, grab a bag and take them home after you have had the hot chocolate...

It's in the middle of nowhere, and the food is average - I had a friand, the pancakes may be better - but you get heaps of coffee choices. Cafe Hernandez is famous for is beans variety. If ever looking for a quiet late night haunt, you should give this place a try.
This cafe is an institution. It has been in the area for ages, and although the dark burgundy and wood decor looks like it has not been changed in that same period, it’s part of its charm. We sat on the sloping pavement. Again part of the charm. The coffee served here is first rate – their own blend. The cakes were fresh and invitingly displayed. My pistachio friand was moist and the size of the croissant with my companion was substantial. Rates for a good fress. I will be back – and sooner than the 20 years since I ate there. Hernandez Friand
Late night sanctuary. This place is a diamond in the rough. I have had the best mocha of my life here and the churros are perfect fuel for pulling those late study nights when being at home seems unbearable.
Went to Cafe Hernandez for breakfast after searching for a long time to find breakfast churros outside Spain. The churros were freshly made and the hot chocolate was authentic Spanish hot chocolate, perfect for dipping.
Cafe Hernandez has a personal feel and is very reasonably priced. would definitely recommend it for churros!
Cute little cafe. Feels like you are in Europe. Thick hot chocolate was delicious and churros were fantastic - Fresh hot and crispy on the outside with a generous coating of sugar and soft on the inside (so much better than san churros!) 2 hot chocolates and 4 churros for $20
Let us know when horchata is back on the menu!
This coffee shop is truly a must-visit gem in Sydney! Stepping into this painting-clad space transports you to another world, a charming Spanish one where cafes are open till 1 or 2am! The coffee is great and so is the service. This is the perfect place to come, drink, enjoy and have a chat. No wifi at all, which is quite nice too! I’ll definitely be coming back in the evening!

Felt like home. The coffee was good and food was pleasant to eat. You can pick a bean of your choice and this family owned cafe will not disappoint you.
Best coffee and they roast their own beans you can get your own special blend 😋 👍❤
As of Nov 1st, 2019 this place is open continuously from Friday mornings at 6am until Midnight Sunday. Because of the way Google posts opening times (anything after midnight is considered the following day) it looks like it closes on Friday at midnight. This is not the case. It’s open all night Friday, i.e. in the wee hours of Saturday morning, and all night Saturday night (i.e. in the wee hour of Sunday morning)
Now for my review: this place an institution in the Sydney coffee scene. As the place that never sleeps you used to be able to come here any time of the day or night for a coffee. Recently their all-night hours have changed (I imagine due to lockout laws), but there are still a couple of nights (Fri/Sat) that they don’t close, so it’s still THE place for nocturnal artists, insomniacs and urban shift workers.

Very charming bohemian coffee shop where you can buy your own freshly roasted coffee beans on site as well as enjoying a cupa of the house blend or a choice of different origins, coffee is excellent! Must try the Spanish omelette!
Loved the place! Good coffee and really good bakings. The atmosphere here is definitely something to experience.
Like a few places around the area they roast their beans on site and there is a lovely old world charm about this place that is a serenade to the history of this almost 50 year old institution.
