Absolutely delicious!! Great food and atmosphere. We had the pho, san Choi bao, and vermicelli noodles which were all full of flavour and amazing. Will definitely come back. Thank you!!
I brought my friend to the spice alley for lunch. We decided to try Mekong. The food was overall delicious. The papaya salad was fresh and tasty. The lemongrass beef curry was okay. My friend enjoyed it. But I am not too into beef curries, maybe that's why I didn't enjoy it as much. Overall, a good experience. Would definitely revisit.
I wanted pho. It is on a list with better choices that my doctor has given me for eating out. So we ended up here. It's a fairly nice part of Spice Alley, its own restaurant with dedicated seating and a liquor license. The pho was good quality and tasty.
After one of the best dinners this year at Upper Mekong, we just had to try Lower Mekong. It didn't disappointed. More classic Vietnamese dishes elevated like their Pho. The tomato rice with the most moist fried chicken ever was the standout. For the price point, definitely value for money.
So there're two different restaurants in this 1 building. Mekong which is upstairs and apparently more upscale and Lower Mekong downstairs that serves Vietnamese street food.
We ordered rice paper entree dish which turned out to be 2 small crispy rice papers with pork floss, chilli jam and some unidentifiable lump of something cold and rubbery. It was ok but I won't order it again.
Then came our main course of lemongrass chicken curry and deep fried snapper topped with sweet & sour chilli sauce. Both main dishes were really good; the curry was delicious and chicken was cooked till very tender, almost melt in your mouth. Fish was battered (whole fish) and deep fried and was cooked well, sauce was well balanced but there was very little sauce on the plate.
We shared the coconut sago dessert which was ok but slightly overly sweetened.
Overall it was a decent meal. Would go back for the curry and the fish.
Much has been said of Mekong and its menu. You can tell that I quite like it, and this will be despite any disparaging comments about “authenticity” that get raised anytime a restaurant that serves more than one cuisine is talked about. In the end, the food at Mekong is simply delicious, where with the right starters, curry mains and that god-sent coconut ice cream, sets a high bar to beat.
Put on your adventure caps, it’s time to set sail into Southeast Asia.

Today, walked pass this shop and they offering take away pho for $10.
Pho real? Yes indeed.
Bought chicken pho and beef pho.
My personal opinion o love the chicken pho better than the beef pho, just because the broth for beef pho is lacked of depth, all the goodness of herbs and spices, like black pepper, charred cinnamon and star anise.
Both broth comes with extra either beef meatballs or chicken meatballs.
Awesome food.. and a great house Pinot Grigio that suited everything

We had quite a nice meal at this restaurant for lunch. The noodles were really delicious and the non alcoholic drinks were lovely. Slight criticism is that the noodle dish was slightly too oily, but otherwise the flavour was really nice.
