My wife and I were regular customers for the last 6 months or so. Great coffee and food. Pho is the one to try and my wife loves the Laksa. Staff is amazing. Highly recommended place to try!
Long time take away customer, first time dining in.
Great food in general and a good go-to place when lunchtime decisions are hard to make.
Attempted the Hoi An Chicken. Whilst dish presentation was clean and appealing, the meat texture itself was a bit too plump for my liking. This resulted in an unexpected large portion of food which is not necessarily a bad thing if you are hungry.
The review of this dish is irrelevant if you are non judgemental on the origins and handling of your poultry. The pickles were nice.
Will try other dishes one day.
Nice lovely cafe in ultimo. Close to broadway shopping centre. Ordered sourdough with smashed avo, portion was small. Went for second time, had bacon egg roll, portion was decent.
The best thing in this place is their coffee. Never disappoint. Will I come back? For sure for coffee
My wife and I are regular customers of this cafe for the last 6 months or so. Their coffee and food never disappoints. Coffee guys are absolutely amazing and I would hire them myself if I could. Highly recommend to visit! *****
Good food, especially the beef sandwich. BTW, the waiters are pretty good looking and hospitable. I will come again for the food as well as those hot guys.
Lotus Story clearly has a following amongst the office crowd from Mountain St. And it's understandable. Service is quick and friendly. The menu has plenty of choice. The food is very good and the servings are generous
Ordered a french toast topped with cream, butter, fruits and berry sauce, the french toast itself was average yet it was quite a bomb combination that went well with the sides.

Amazing everytime! Would always bring clients here for client lunch meetings! Best vietnamese food, would highly recommend the salads and the rice paper rolls. I really liked the interior of it as well, very art deco!
When I walked in I was like, eh, this looks like a hipster cafe I'd find in Melbourne except it was in Sydney and serves Vietnamese cuisine. There was a takeaway menu on the side and the option to dine in.
The staff were friendly when they greeted us and sat us down. It felt very spacious with high ceilings and the tables were further apart from each other.
The menu was interesting for a Vietnamese place, not very traditional and was more contemporary (fusion). I ordered the Grilled Beef & Spring Rolls Vermicelli (see photos). It was alright, the spring rolls tasted different from usual spring rolls I'd get from other Vietnamese restaurants. The meal didn't leave much of an impression on me as I've had better, but nonetheless it was healthy. It was a bit pricey as compared to the serving size and the ingredients in the meal. I also ordered a lemongrass & ginger tea, which was fine as well.
TLDR; I do not recall a lot as this is a 4 days late review. I just remember the place looked like a hipster cafe I would find in Melbourne, spacious with a good vibe, food was bit expensive for what it should be worth, the staff were very friendly and well presented. Would recommend if you just wanna have a casual meal at a nearby cafe with Vietnamese cuisine. But I believe there would be better places in the CBD.
P.S. Excuse the quality of my photos as my cousins really wanted to just eat - so I didn't have time to ensure they turned out good.
Wonderful quite good quality coffee in the wake of the morning. Then returned later for a late breakfast- totally delicious. Scrambled eggs, chorizo, chilli, Brussel sprouts, walnuts. New flavours and very tasty. Would return to this one. Industrial warehouse decor, friendly, efficient staff.
Love this Vietnamese food small cafe in ultimo
Located in Ultimo, @lotus_story brings you a Vietnamese food inspired cafe. Yes, here you can enjoy your coffee boost pairing it with Vietnamese food. Price wise it isn’t too expensive, affordable yet tasty.

My favourite would be their salt and pepper squid. Actually, I love everything here that I can’t choose!! 9/10 for me 🥰
Love the beef stew rice and their coffee. Very chill and industrial place for work lunch
Must try pork crackle rolls, definitely one of the better ones in town.
Freshly made bread fantastic sauce on the back of the crackling.
Could have gone with some extra chilli but otherwise I will be going back.
Pro-tip - Go early before they sell out and you miss out.
quite a lovely spot! the interior of the cafe was great, and the staff were very lovely and friendly. in a convenient spot close to broadway shops, yet tucked away just enough from the main road to avoid the bustling sounds of the city. I visited with a friend one saturday afternoon, and it was quite quiet. we were after something sweet, so ordered some pancakes which came out wonderfully colourful! the chai latte was very nice too, just sweet enough. will definitely come back, as I'm keen to try something more on the meal side of their menu.
Ok, so I have not eaten here but the the coffee is great! I popped in a couple of times for a coffee and have loved it. Staff is fantastic and friendly - and are lovers of coffee - the coffee beans fresh and the atmosphere is fantastic. I have chilled in here a couple of times and, while this area has some awesome cafes, this place is up there with them. Must try (and I am going to get a pho next time)
Find this place by chance on Google and decided to give it a go. Love Viet food and figured it would be perfect for a hot afternoon. First impressions is positive. I love the warehouse look, was clean, well laid out and staff were friendly. Menu is good but more difficult to read then normal, and prices were reasonable for the city.
I ordered their Bun (Vermacili salad). Presentation was very good, very colourful and the vegetables well julienned. Bowl looks big but it's really not as deep as you would expect. Noodles were very good, still had some chew which is fantastic. Sauce was good too. Problem is the beef - well flavoured but tough. Shame as it would otherwise have been a 5 star dish
Good coffee too - not the best in Sydney but very good for a non coffee focus Cafe.
Really good coffee, haven't tried the food but have heard many good things. Wish it was open longer on weekday and wish they opened on the weekend. I think I see them closing around 2pm/2:30? On weekday?
