My favourite dish is the desert - deep fried rice cake with brown sugar. It's so crispy on the surface and chewy in the middle. The brown sugar syrup is a highlight of the dish - warm and sweet and so fragrant.
the interior and atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice, there wasn’t much of a variety on the menu but i didn’t worry about that too much as long as the food was good. i ordered noodles and dumplings, it was very filling and delicious and it was a good value for the price.
I walk pass this restaurant almost every day but never actually got in and tried out their food since their exterior looks very fancy. My friends were craving Chinese cuisine the other night so we decided to see what their food is like.
We’ve ordered quite a few dishes and below are the highlights:
Spicy beef noodles was the bomb! Love that spicy flavour and slightly numbing sensation that kept us slurping the carbs! A very soothing, addictive and satisfying noodle dish for winter.
Chongqing street noodles looked similar to the beef noodles but instead of soup, it’s served with spicy and numbing sauce. Before having the noodles, make sure you mix everything together so you get to taste all the ingredients in every bite. This one is full of flavours and textures but I always prefer something soupy.
Can never resist pan fried buns for the crunchy bottom, juicy pork filling and soft fluffy bun. This one did not disappoint and I had two in a row.
Fried pork chop is well seasoned and nicely coated with a very thin batter. Would have been even more delish if the pork chop was thicker.
Glutinous purple rice cakes was probably the most surprising item of the night. The addition of purple rice was such a great idea! These cakes were so much chewier and more fragrant than the normal ones out there.
Overall a pretty good place for a quick Chinese food fix. Grab the purple rice cakes too and you won’t regret it.
