Definitely one of my favourite local places to go to if I’m feeling like sushi or sashimi, it’s got a great variety and it’s super cheap. One of my favourite takeaway sushi Sashi me is definitely the seared salmon set.

Lekkere sushi rolls. Tijdens happy hour maar $2.50. Een aanrader voor een ieder op zoek naar een goedkope, lekkere lunch. Kom er zeker terug.

Sushi Bar is conveniently located underneath my work and has been my go-to on lunch breaks!! It’s a really quick self-service system - grab the sushi, line up, pay, enjoy. The guy at the counter is so lovely and chirpy every visit :)

I’ve tried the tuna + avo, chicken + lettuce rolls and a deluxe sashimi box. Only negative is that ginger is 30c extra (which I’ve never come across before in a fast food sushi joint) but strong business decision considering how busy the place gets.

A recent renovation brought Sushi Bar Surry Hills back into my field of attention. The once poky little space has been opened out with white paint, and a stylish lit inset wall space filled with plants and other organic materials, that runs along a white banquette. Despite being someone who turns their nose up at hot food sweating away under heat lamps inside plastic bento boxes, and a bit of a stickler for freshly made sushi rolls, I was keen to give this lighter, brighter, space a second chance. My first attempt to revisit started badly. I popped in at 11.52am on the way into work for a late start. They told me I had to come back after noon for something freshly made. I finally got a lunch break at 2.08pm and when I returned, they said I was too late. Taking on board that the only chance to get freshly made food here is between the hours of noon and two precisely, I gave them a third shot...

I love this place. Fresh, lots of hot and cold options plus friendly service. It does get busy at lunch time but it’s the best around so that’s to be expected 😊

This place has the best vegetarian options. They do an amazing agedashi tofu. Their vege roll options are creative and delicious. Absolutely love the tempura pumpkin and avocado as well as the tofu avocado rolls.

I love this sushi bar/ restaurant! Everything is fresh and delicious! I have been here a few times. You can pick any sushi boxes or the hot food boxes from the window! It’s pretty cool!! I love that concept! It is perfect for a quick lunch during work as it’s super quick! Sometimes there is a long queue & that is how popular it is!! The guy that serves in the front counter is full of character hehe and very friendly too!! I would highly recommend this place!! If you love Japanese food like me!! Even the food on the menu that was cooked fresh was super delicious! I ordered the spicy grilled king crab sushi sometime this week and fresh sashimi 😍 Check this place out if you haven’t tried it!

Great variety of hot and cold take away rolls, along with amazing Bento's. Good price with excellent service. Seating is limited, so get in before the lunch rush.

The bento boxes are amazing with interesting ranges. The staff is friendly and the decor is so neat, clean and simple. Simply it is the best takeaway/eat in Japanese in town.

Sushi Bar Surry Hills - Serve a wide range a Shushi and Sashimi. Best time to visit 12 noon to 2 PMa Chirashi sushi - just in case you're wondering - is 'scattered' sushi; a bowl of sushi rice with a mixed array of typical sushi ingredients. You eat it by taking little pieces of fish and dipping them in soy with a smear of wasabi, then alternating with mouthfuls of rice or salad. At Sushi Bar Surry Hills, the Chirashi Sushi ($14.80) is well-presented with a generous array of toppings. It's perfectly fine takeaway if you're eating al-desko, but of course it's better if you can spare the time to eat it in the restaurant. You'll find salmon - both raw, seared and marinated - cooked prawns, raw tuna, orange tobiko (roe), inari (sweet fried tofu pockets), egg, cooked pumpkin and nicely dressed salad adorning a fair-sized portion of sushi rice. Guests who eat in this tiny restaurant are also offered water and bowls of miso soup included in the quite reasonable price.
