Never heard or known about gozlemes before, until a friend brought it to a gathering that I attended where I first tasted it. It was the Nutella flavor, which at that time was already quite cold yet still tasted really great. I told her how much I liked it, and she said it’s so much better when it’s hot. Later on, I went to the stall and bought a Nutella gozleme, had it served hot and fresh. Oh my, it’s a must try indeed! The Nutella melts in every bite. Well, to be fair, anything with Nutella is mouthwatering. But trust me, a gozleme from Gozleme King is probably one of the best things ever to eat Nutella with.
The gozleme looked nice and thick when cooking but there was less filling in it than I expected. Still had a good part-crispy part-fluffy casing and tasted good overall. Much better than football gozleme but not as good as the stall at the Potts Point/Kings Cross markets.
I had the Vegan Veggie Plus, a tasty gozleme with spinach, mushroom, capsicum, olives and vegan mozzarella cheese. Would have liked more cheese and some seasoning. Overall a nice dish.
Located in the 'Myer food court' all vegetarian options can be made vegan. They use vegan mozzarella cheese AND they have a seperate chopping board add wipe off the cutting and serving utensils. I was extremely impressed with this! With knowledge and understanding of veganism, this is what I call great service.

Gozleme King is one of the stalls in the food court that you always come back to after rotating your lunch options. They currently have a special lunch offer for $14 which gets you a choice of gozleme, baklava and a drink. One of the best gozleme I’ve had, probably due to the fact that it’s made fresh to order and service is reasonably fast. It’s also not overly priced like some other gozleme stalls.
My choice:
•Gozleme - chicken & mushroom (the “lot” is my favourite as you get a bit of everything but this is my 2nd favourite) - it does come with a lot of cheese so I think you can ask them to opt for less cheese
•Baklava - pistachio (I’ve literally gotten this about 3 times, great if you want something sweet after lunch without spending too much as it’s only $3 on its own) - warning: it is actually really sweet so that small slice is actually enough to satisfy your sweet tooth
•Drink - water (I needed an extra bottle of water)
I quite like Gozleme King as a chain, but the one I had in the CBD outlet just wasn't as magical as the one from Rhodes. This time around I got the vegetarian but asked if I could switch cheese for the potato, which they were happy to do. Unfortunately, these potatoes weren't as marinated or chilli as they should have been (or compared to Rhodes), so it was rather bland. I don't mind too much when it's bland, and I still happily finished it, but I suppose the gozleme didn't have that kick I had previously had.
Still prefer GK over other gozleme chains and will go back when in the mood for some Turkish street food! It's not super quick as it's made to order, but it IS tasty! 😀 Worth trying. Hopefully they get those potatoes spicy again, and the taste will be elevated to a new level!
I was in the area as I needed to visit Myer. This outlet is located in Sydney Central Plaza food court. This outlet has had a few changes as I previously recalled it being a hot potato and crepe place.
It looked enticing as they were freshly making the gozleme by hand then cooking them to order. It was quite busy and there were a lot of people waiting for their food. They did a fairly good job of getting these orders done. You pay at the register and get a number. I had a BBQ Chicken (feta cheese, bbq chicken and mushroom). I waited for a bit and then realised that numbers after my one were being called. I enquired at the pick up and was nicely told it wouldn't be too much longer. Unfortunately the man cooking it accidentally burnt mine (did see him toss one in the bin a few minutes before I enquired) and did apologise for the wait. The gozleme itself is well made and was nice and crispy. I wish there was more seasoning to the chicken as slightly bland. It might've done with a sauce as well. Overall not bad but could be better.
