Love the low light, exposed pipes ambience here. Service was attentive and friendly. We ordered 3 entrees and a main for 3 of us. The duck was really delicious, we also really enjoyed the zucchini and duck pave as the side dishes. My personal favourite was the Raviolo. The string quartet provided really good music throughout the dinner too.

Mary’s does not disappoint and the rumours are true...the burgers are absolutely amazing! I had a Mary’s burger with a side of chips and of course a sneaky beer to go along with it.
They offer vegan alternatives with any meal, expect for bacon add ons.
The atmosphere was great, casual dining and they were playing one of my favourite bands, Foals, in the background which got me singing to myself.
We also had an opportunity to write on the wall with a marker, which all customers have the opportunity to write, or draw anything they like...and I mean ANYTHING.
Highly recommend it lunch or dinner, or just a casual drink at the bar. A must try!
Something about Mary’s. Good music, super staff and a cool grunge vibe. Cheeseburger with bacon was fantastic and a side of mash with gravy although life shortening a must.
For long time fans of Mary’s burgers in Newtown and Sydney’s CBD, the new grown up rendition of fine dining meshed with remnants of the old Basement vibes calls for a new refinement to our palettes. Down the staircase there’s familiarity yet mystery as we place our trust in the stirling reputations of Mary’s and wondering what has become of Sydney’s oldest live music venue which was supposedly almost going to be used as commercial office space had it not been for the saving grace of Kenny Graham and Jake Smyth.
From first impressions it’s looking like one great step forward for vegan burgers in Sydney at the new Mary’s Underground. I was very impressed with Chicken Burger 'Vegan Option' with Fries ($18). Clever use of the cauliflower that's been spiced up and deep fried for some pleasant crunch factor. Comes in a pillow soft bun that molds easily around the ingredients but manages to hold its structure well. Fantastic melty cheese which I wouldn't be able to pick it being vegan.A win for the vegans and great work by the guys who are famous for their burgers and fried.
So Chill! We went for the first Saturday night of Vivid with the cabaret themed Supper Club, we caught all the acts, and just loved the place. Will be back for dinner soon. Friendly staff, with a great wine list too. Enjoy!
This is an awesome location for a small gig. Staff (both bar and security) were super professional, helpful, quick and friendly. Ace experience!
This was a fun find, the atmosphere was awesome, the cocktail was great and everyone loved their vegan burgers. Highly recommend the Marys burger, we can’t wait to come back.
The bartenders were hella nice and the live music was good too. We dined there for dinner and food was great. A little disappointed that it was $3 for a small roll of bread and they didn’t provided enough bread for the pate so I ended up ordering like $12 worth of bread for myself (just for entrees) LOL. But ye in general would recommend. Their duck is to die for and we really regretted not ordering two of those bad boys. Ended up fighting over who can have the drum stick. I lost.
Had such a lovely time here. Great atmosphere, cool band (Tuesday jazz night), attentive staff and delicious menu!! Started off with the ceviche which was amazing!! Then had the black rice with pippis which is squid ink... very good!! Then a silk handkerchief pasta.. silky indeed!! Then a fancy french pie with cheese and peas inside.. wasn't as heavy as it looks so don't be afraid! Side of corn because of course and finished with a beautiful fig tarte. My only sad moment for the evening was being sold to on the lovely sounding description of the paté only to find that it was sold out and at the beginning of the night. But will definitely be back and sampling the rest of this decadent menu (and the music of course!)
Great spot close to Circular Quay. Very different from the other Mary's, more classy! Done really great entertainment each night. The Jazz Hip-hop on Thursday was great fun. Get in early for the Happy Hour, highly recommend the chilli margarita @$10. Great vibe. Delicious food! Friendly staff.
