Great place for your "sushi" or California roll cravings. Eat there or take away the quality is always consistently good. The service is quick and friendly.
the food is very fresh and tasty. even the fried dishes do not taste stale and rubbery like a lot of places.
the two main drawbacks are that the sushi pieces are too big and the prices are inflated.
I went in one day alone when it was empty so I was served fairly fast. The gyozas were delicious and the silken tofu was some of the tastiest I’ve ever had. I’ll go back with friends some time to try more from the menu.
Pleasantly surprised with the freshness of the food. Sushi all made fresh on the spot after order was placed and it was all delicious. Wasn't a big fan of the sashimi being drowned with soy sauce as it should have been left as it is to be enjoyed but overall, a great night out - affordable Japanese cuisine!
Donburis are average, but a great place for sushi rolls. Love how every roll that comes out is just bursting with fresh ingredients. Mango Chicken Roll and Naughty Coconut roll are always a hit for us; love the combination of these flavours and texture.
Fresh and yum! You can always mixed anything that u like. Glad that the combo wasn't taste weird but delicious.
Other than that just the price is not cheap,I think it's quite expensive for few pieces of sushi roll..
I was very excited to hear this place was coming down my way. I have always raved about it since I tried it about 4 years ago up in Mnt Lawley.
It's much bigger which is great because it's already very popular. The thing is that they also do takeaway/deliveroo making it a challenge for them to serve both sets of customers (phone was ringing non stop) - They need more staff!! It's unfair on the 3 people trying to deal with it all. So it took a while for our food to come out.
But it was worth the wait. For $25 a head, including 4 small sushi rolls, takoyaki and a pot of green tea, you feel very satisfied.
The sushi is a bit of a challenge to eat because it doesn't stay together like normal sushi. Part of the reason is simply the number of ingredients in there, but also I think the poor girl rushed making them so they weren't completed enclosed. But nevertheless, can't go past extremely fresh sushi and the variety on offer - I definitely like this place.
Whilst the cosy Mt Lawley location is great, this two-tiered store is open plan and still edgy enough. There is always space for a quick eat.
The sushi is fresh and fusion style, with lightly vinegared rice and thick rolls. The pieces can be hard to eat in their entirety, so munching is the way to go. The spicy tuna wuth chilli mayo and veggie roll with the black sesame sauce are sensational. For something different, the mexican is delicious and the short starring tom yum roll was yum indeed. The only miss has really been the mint lamb roll, which didn't really carry well into Japanese cuisine. Our favourite sushi!
Great little place the food was crunchier and fresh to taste. The spice used with our chicken dish was beautiful and balanced well. The meal was filling and the miso soup was a great addition to the meal. We will be back enjoy another meal soon
Fresh, made to order, tasty sushi rolls at Mr Munchies. The 2 Way Duck, Katsu Chkn + Bacon, Softshell Crab, Surf n Turf rolls were all great. Nice , modern and clean place and service with a smile.
Great place to hang out with big groups! We actually hired the entire restaurant and the owner kindly closed the shop for us on a busy Friday night.
Food was great and the price reflect central location and cozy place. Owner was nice and friendly. Staffs were efficient.
Amazing sushi, always presented well and you can choose exactly what you want in it :) made fresh to order
