Really enjoyed my breakfast here. Great service, awesome coffee and AMAZING toasties. Off the bustle of Chapel St, it’s a pretty and quiet cafe to come and relax.
It’s a 4.2 for me. A fantastic place.
It may be just my current mood but places like Two Lost Boys get me thinking that every second street in Melbourne has a place that serves amazing food in a lovely space with happy smiling servers. Not the case I know but the sheer number of very good cafes and restaurants in this city is extraordinary, I reckon.
We chose this place from about ten seconds browsing on the app searching for good places in Windsor. Two Lost Boys came up at 4.1 and looked very interesting. So it proved. What else could you possibly want in a breakfast, brunch or lunch spot than what they deliver here. This place is a lovely bright and airy place right next to Windsor station and right on the tram line too. Anyone could find it. The food is just wonderful. I had the nourish bowl due to a strong desire for something healthy to partially offset recent excesses. I’ve rarely made a more sensible choice. It was excellent. Every part of this dish worked and it was delicious and flavoursome. The lamb was superb. I was momentarily worried it’d be stringy and bland, but it was soft, delicate and just beautifully flavoured. I sat back in my seat at one point in wonderment.
I’m too tired to fully explain my companions’ choices and all I know is they were very good and fully approved and admired. The coffee was reported as lovely too (I passed on this occasion). Full endorsement from people who know their coffee and wouldn’t hesitate to condemn the bad or ordinary. These people know.
The world’s most beautiful woman said it first as we wandered out of the cafe after our meal into the cool mid afternoon air. What beautiful food, what a nice place, how reasonably priced, what a lovely polite, efficient and pleasant server. As usual, she was right on the money. What else would you need.
I've lived in the area for 2 years and just discovered this place. Such a cool little place by the corner. The coffee and service were excellent. Will definitely come back with the family and try the food next time
Take a casual stroll around Windsor and you will quickly come to find that you're not lost for choice when it comes to eating. There's a lot going on with culinary temptations at every turn, so it would be forgivable if you missed a humble little cafe tucked away in a back corner of Chapel Street next to the Windsor Train Station, but Two lost Boys is definitely one spot that's worth finding.
Bearded funboy Danyel (pronounced "Danielle") Mestan took the reins at TLB in September 2016 and the venue has since emerged as the clear leader in crowded Windsor cafe market. Dan, who on first impression could be cast as the westernised scion of a Taliban leader, is a venerated and proven performer in the dining space, and his work at TLB is true to that form. The venue is much less ostentatious than its try-hard peer group, but remains on trend with an assortment of beautiful pots and thriving greenery. I am especially fond of the custom joinery which must have cost a fortune.
But it is in the eating that patrons best bear witness to TLB's primacy. My blueberry hot cakes yesterday were a triumph: they boasted a fluffy interior which was belied by the almost-crunchy, fried exterior. Garnished with a cinnamon-pistachio mix and a proprietary inhouse marscapone, it is a verifiably high-end offering.
The coffee is also excellent
Five stars Danni
Subtlety ... is often underrated ...
Above Windsor station, occupies the ground floor of a newly developed building, modern facade with warm interior.
Easily 8/10 $4.00 well made latte, smooth with subtle coffee beans character.
Very pleasant and welcoming service, subtle but noted, thank you. JT-27/04/2018.
Like a few other people who have left comments, I have to say there is something about this place. It lacks the pretentious feel of other places on Chapel st. The outdoor area gets enough sun to get your vitamin D and has less hustle and bustle of other cafes only metres away.
I have had the Notorious BLT twice and it is now the answer to my 'what can I eat for lunch today?' question.
Good staff, good coffee and worth going to....
Something about this place is conducive to conversation...maybe it's the slightly secluded location or just the relaxed atmosphere 🤷♂️
Menu is simple and tasty...apologies to the staff for always hanging around so long after my meal!
This was a really good spot for brunch. The egg and bacon roll had loads of Bacon on an organic roll, really tasty relish.
The chicken sandwich toastie was absolutely delicious. Avocado, chicken and cheese. Can’t go wrong!
Love the potato gems on the side. Takes me back to being a little kid!
A real gem near Windsor station. Service is fantastic and very friendly combined with good food and great coffee. On my last visit I had a mug soy latte which was well priced.
Bustling. Clearly the most social café in the street. Reasonable pricing. Quick service. Coffee decent. Food decent. Warm in winter. Really quite a happy, chatty atmosphere. Get your breakfast here, you’ll feel better about your day.
Cold brew coffee was great :) big brekky was awesome! I love the hash brown, the grilled mushrooms and tomato.. everything :) the vibe was good too.
I was lucky to have a quiet space for myself (it was almost 3, so already passed the peak brunch time I guess.)
had an almond flat white and a chocolate almond croissant. coffee was great but the chocolate overpowered any almond in the croissant. other than that was really lovely !!
Great cafe. I come here most mornings for coffee and almond chai lattes. Friendly staff and amazing breakfast food! Highly recommend the smashed avocado breakfast with mushrooms!
Came for breakfast, good coffee, staff and atmosphere! The food was tasty, we ordered the ham Benedict, acai bowl and eggs your way. Would recommend to a friend
Came here for the first time today and got a coffee ☕️ and it was delicious! Lovely service as well 💗
Great food. Coffee good. Staff welcoming. Atmosphere vibrant, loud, with positive energy. Don’t come here if you’re after a quiet place to read a book. Great place for people watching!
