Had merguez sausages and cous cous. Very nice flavours and presentation. Mint tea and coffee were both good as well.

Azoo will date you
And leave you feeling content.
After a succulent lamb couscous.
Traditional, premium quality, slow cooked, North-African comfort food to soothe the soul.

The chakchouka made for a packed with flavour breakfast. Not sure which one we actually had. Was enticed by a man offering me a date ( the fruit) whilst meandering at the markets. Got talking, he made it sound good, he asked me if I liked spicy and then he told the chef to make it. I think it was the spicy sausage one. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of flavour from all the spices. Came with bit of warm crusty bread to dip in the sauce.
Also had a tea with pine nuts in it.

Stopped here on my trip to the Adelaide market. Super friendly staff and the best peppermint tea with pine nuts. Unfortunately I didn’t have the food as I had eaten already although it looked and smelled amazing!

I love the Adelaide Central Market early in the morning, just as the traders open. Before the crowd gets in and the hustle bustle begins. Situated right next to one of my favourite places ever (Comida) is a charming Algerian Place called Le Souk – French/Arabic for The Market. How fitting.

Always fascinated by the way they make mint tea. It's pretty nifty! Cous cous is very light and fluffy. Full of flavours and spices. It's a place that is able to transport you to Algeria!

I went to the Gawler Place outlet. The owner is lovely and will "date" you as you walk in (a traditional offer of a date to eat). The menu is enticing with lots of tajines and cous cous dishes as you would expect. I tried the brik which is meat and egg in a thin pastry that is baked and comes with salad and a spicy sauce. It was nice. It's good quality but slightly pricy - particularly for lunch - and the serves are not huge.

Yummo.. been twice now and so sad that I can't return for a while. Mostly because I live in Melbourne. There is no doubt that this would be a regular haunt for me. Just my cup of tea

I cannot get enough of this restaurant. The Menu is absolutely out of this world it's so delicious. The staff are friendly and I always feel welcome. This is 'le bled'! Translation, it is home sweet home.
The prices are not expensive at all contrary to some reviews I have read. A whole couscous huge plate of couscous costs just as much as a gourmet sandwich in Adelaide. The Couscous is a time consuming dish to prepare as opposed to a sandwich and it is a very healthy meal.
I would suggest to take away a pot of harrissa as I am a conaisseur of this ingredient and it is by far the best interpretation I have ever tasted. It is SO delicious, and you can use it to complement just about anything at home.

This is not really a fair or complete review because we didn't stop for a meal, just some mint tea, some coffee and a couple of sweets after a round of shopping in the Market.

BUT, the mint tea was excellent, the coffee very good and the sweets delicious.

Best of all was the service. Friendly, helpful and they gave me a free date.

Didn't try the food, but we saw it going past us and it looked very fine.

Amazing food, fantastic service. Full of aromas of paella and cooked meat. The owner is so friendly. We ordered tea and it came with a performance of tea pouring ceremony. Worth the money and nice atmosphere. So many people in this restaurant. Will come again and try other food in the menu.

The Algerian paella here is a different variety to the standard Spanish paella that I've had over the years. They make them look quite appealing and I prefer this paella stall to the other one at the markets. Definitely worth a try. Yours truly @fooderarri

First time going this morning. Was blown away, so rich and full of flavour. Everyone was so kind, funny & friendly. And i like the spice selection, excited to cook something different at home now. And thankyou for having heaps of vegan options. No one misses out.

We visited Le Souk for breakfast on a Saturday morning. The restaurant was really busy, but we were able to get two seats at the counter. All the items on their menu looked enticing, and we decided to order a lamb tagine and a Moroccan tea. The tagine was served with a couscous salad and bread. The tagine lived up to its expectations, and the tea was great as well. I loved the addition of pine nuts as this gave a bit of a texture and a creaminess to the tea. The paella also seemed very popular, and we will definitely try that next time we are in Adelaide.

Wonderful! Not only was the owner an absolute legend but the food was beyond any expectation. We had the vegan paella which they prepare fresh daily, and little did we know that it was going to provide such an explosion of flavours as well as an amazing balance of spices. I would have this for lunch every day. The rest of the menu provides an ample selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes as well as animal protein based ones, so heaps of possibilities. In short, just stop wandering. This is were you want to be. 100% Recommended.

Served with a date and smile, the food is amazing, fresh and cooked for enjoyment. On a busy market day, the service was a little slow, but the taste spice and food presentation makes up for the slowness. You can buy the spices / sauces that go into the meals. Take away is ok too.

Covid times: only doing outdoor dining and takeaway food - we can still eat out safely 🙂. Takeaway lunch from @lesoukadelaide - a great option for takeaway when you're at @adelcentralmarket for groceries 😜😜. . Algerian paella with chicken: pretty decent paella! I like the charred bits, and the flavours were great! It's a bit different from Spanish paella, but still quite tasty 😊.
