So this little joint up the road from the beach is a very cool oasis right in the middle of Bondi. The food is just like the tiny bars and sushi joints you find in back alleys in most cities in JAPAN. Wonderfully fresh, perfectly presented with top shelf Sake. And,, the staff are open friendly and helpful. Two thumbs up for this little place of perfection.

Excellent food, nice little restaurant. Ordered two or three plates to share between two of us. Have 3-4 different sakes which I didn't get to seeing as it was lunch...!

A nice vibe, looks like you were in a restaurant in Japan.

We ordered Gyoza, Kaarage Chicken and a Salmon deluxe sushi roll. The food was very tasty overall. The portion was very generous. The kaarage chicken was served the Japanese way - with a wedge of lemon on the side; it is seasoned well and juicy.

There were heaps of filling in the sushi - very appetising. We will come again for other items on the menu.

The food is pretty good but not amazing. The service though is generally great, particularly if you are served by their regular (blonde) waitress who always makes you feel welcome and frequently checks on patrons. This place is good for a mid week reasonably priced meal. The restaurant is quite small so you can talk without having to yell.

I highly recommend Sake street for its fresh and tasty menu items. The mixed sashimi plate was the best I've had in the area. We will be back!

Best Sushi in Bondi!. I'm so stoked these guys are here! The food is fresh and healthy just the way sushi should be. Unique and interesting rolls, good value for money, and very kind and welcoming staff. Will be back soon!

After returning to my beloved Bondi for the summer, I am all too eager to investigate the new and improved around the familiar haunts. One place that seems to have caught my eye is the growing foodie hub at the top of Hall st. As I live not too far from this precinct of gourmand goodness, I will endeavour to comment on all the surrounding spots.
First on my list was Sushi st, recommended to me by my Japanese friend. I had arranged to meet her on a Sunday afternoon, which had turned uncomfortably warm. My friend was already seated at the train, and had the foresight and delicious presence of mind to order me a cold beer. I shuffled onto my seat as the beer was placed in front of me. It turned out to be a Japanese draft beer called Orion, not to heavy handed, and had the quenching effect of lowering ones feet into a tub full of cool water on a hot day. Half of the beer was gone after the first gulp. My friend was eager to impress on me the merits of the wide selection of treats on offer and set about randomly snatching small coloured plates from the train. Given the position of the seating around the train conversations and shared smiles were being shared by the collection of seated diners, as we at times simultaneously reached for the same plates. This in turn led to the merriment, making it quite a pleasant friendly dining experience. I pensively eyed my Nigiri as it made its way down the back straight, willing it home, hoping for it to avoid the darting hands of my fellow diners. The food was of a high standard, it hadn't warmed or softened in the heat and it cool and freshened the palette before the Wasabi applied its venom. I ordered the sashimi salad from the menu, it took a little time to arrive, but with the warm weather and the amount of customers at the time it was perhaps understandable. This did provide a good interlude to order another cold 'un. I do like a good piece of sashimi, and on a bed of baby spinach sat a good helping of the stuff, here before me sat well presented chunks of Salmon, Tuna and Kingfish. Added to the fish was a generous helping of dressing, which allowed the salad and the sashimi to blend and hold together. The dressing did not suffocate and overpower the flavours of the fish but presented a pause, a moment, to come back to the flavours and texture of the fish. The fish itself seems to have been studiously considered and chosen given its consistency. The beauty of raw fish is that it seems to inhabit a texture somewhere between firm and soft. It has a defined form but weakens and melts in the mouth.
Overall I was pleased with my visit to Sushi st. The service and price are of the surrounding area and I did not encounter anything that distracted me from my enjoyment. The decor has to be noted upon, which has traditional Japanese elements set against a striking contemporary Japanese Manga mural. Kampai

Next week I'm off to Mad Pizza to see if it can top itself.

Being a Bondi local I can’t believe it took me so long to try this fabulous little restaurant! The manger/ owner Jack was absolutely lovely and ensured we had a great evening. The food was amazing, on Jack’s recommendation we had the gyoza, seared salmon sushi roll and dynamite scallops. Absolutely delicious and I can’t wait to go back to try everything else on the menu! The restaurant itself is so cute and has a lovely ambiance. Highly recommend!

Such great value. Sushi rolls are delicious. Carpaccio is amazing! If you appreciate authentic Japanese you will really appreciate Sushi Street. I stumbled in for a happy hour and now I find it really hard to justify eating elsewhere. Very friendly humble stuff. Now a weekly staple.
