Wonderful restaurant from the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out. Manager was very welcoming and made sure we were comfortable. Excellent array of traditional Chinese food. Prawn dumplings soft and delicate. White bait delicious with a subtle taste of the sea. Sichuan chicken was spicy and crisp. I’ll be back very soon.
I have been here at least 5 times And I still can’t get enough of the prawn dumplings . I’ve Never had better.
And the service is always so good . Sue the lady that served me remembered my name and was so attentive at all times, She made our experience so much more pleasant.... highly recommend this place to any one who loves dumplings
Four of us had lunch at Gold Moon last Friday. We very much enjoyed the food and the whole experience. The staff were warm and welcoming. The Manager, Joseph, was attentive and knowledgeable and the waiters were very efficient and kept replenishing our tea cups frequently . The food was absolutely delicious and they happily catered for any gluten free needs. Thanks so much to Gold Moon, we cant wait to return.
Went there today to celebrate my wife's birthday. Very nice place, looks posh and classy, great ambiance. The head waiter (maitre d) - surprise! - was a laowai gentleman :-)))) The rest of the staff are young Chinese boys and girls - extremely polite, friendly and helpful.
Ordered chicken feet, xiao long bao, fried dumplings, prawn dumplings, steamed pork buns, fried squid tentacles and some other stuff. Food arrived quickly, flavours were excellent (especially xiao long bao!). Prices - reasonable.
We really enjoyed the feast!
Overall - strongly recommended! Don't forget to book in advance, though...
Just went to have both lunch and dinner at this restaurant! It was very nice and clean atmosphere! Not too crowded! The food was good, such as chef special beef and dried chilies was very tasty and a little bit spicy (if you like a little bit spicy food). Restaurant also had yum cha for lunch that you can order from the waitress. I recommend you to order a sauté egg Steam buns which has a sweet and salted filling of the salted yellow duck egg and custard inside of the steam white buns. Overall, food was good and clean, price was more expensive compared to general Chinese restaurant, but it was good to try! service was a little bit slow and only a few good waiter and waitress working there.
Decided on a return trip to Gold Moon mainly to try their BBQ Pork Cheong Fun that we somehow missed the last visit. Their ‘All You Can Eat Yum Cha for $25’ is no longer an option otherwise nothing has changed … most of the staff, except one friendly tall gentleman, look as though they would rather be somewhere else. As different to most other establishments, the prices of the yum cha dishes are displayed on the menu and they seem to be reasonable. What came as a shock was the smallish bowl of special fried rice we ordered off the main menu that came in at $22.80! Are you serious folks?
We went to Gold Moon for lunch on the strength of the Good Food review which talked about the quality of the food, and that for lunch, it was "all you can eat" for $25. In this Post-Truth Era, I didn't expect to have a fake review. There was no "all you can eat". The food was of high quality and of high price. We managed "all you can eat" Yum Cha for $84 for two!!! Just don't believe reviews!

I very much like the restaurant itself. The decor is modern and sophisticated. We have been many times since it opened , but have returned after months now. We had the Sunday Yum Cha. It was disappointing unfortunately. The younger male waiter decides who he will offer dishes to, this is not on. So no offer of spring rolls or beef and black bean dish.
The women waitresses are better. No one asked after the initial tea order if we wanted other drinks. I found some food lacking in flavour and on the low content side( content of dim sum). It’s still great value for money. The food doesn’t flow well though. Odd that not everyone has the opportunity for spring rolls at a yum Cha!
There is room for improvement. Big tables are favoured in the offering of dishes. There should be a roving waiter to attend to drinks for everyone, not just whisking up the teapot wordlessly
And refilling, and any other requests. We will go back but the areas which need to be improved are taking a long time to do so.

Definitely recommend this Chinese restaurant in Brighton. The baked crab shell is amazing. The stir fry king prawn is impressive as well. Very fresh ingredients and gorgeous service with authentic taste. Quite popular among local Aussie residents. Will absolutely go back!!!
Our first experience at Gold Moon. Very warm and hospitable welcome from the staff. Ordered one of their Organic Chicken Fried Rice. It’s super tasty and fresh. Im really amazed about the idea they have chosen black rice instead of jasmine rice for the fried rice. If you look for a healthy Chinese restaurant this place will be you top option without doubt. Also I highly recommend the king George whiting which is a Chinese fusion deep fired white fish. Overall, it’s a great spot for family gathering, great atmosphere and environment. Definitely coming back. Good bang for the bucks!
I just had a lovely meal with my friend which was just lovely and good taste. We also had a good dining experience with a good atmosphere.
The environment of the restaurant is great 👏 spacious and quiet, those bamboos are very artistic. The food is also very good, the fried oysters are really delicious, the quality of the oysters is good, the fried wagyu is first-rate, and the price is not expensive.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner here that tasted authentic and the ingredients all seemed fresh and high quality. The seafood especially was a delight. A great option for Chinese food in this area.
I am giving 4 stars this time for few reasons. First at all, their services have improved - able to use English properly and much better attitude. Generally their deep fly dishes are better due to they just make it for you - fresh, hot and not over cooked. One of main reasons for me to come here is the environment, unlike normal yum tea restaurant to put pressure on you, you are able to relax and enjoy time during the meal.
