Have long wanted to check out Ripiena, the pasta lab which opened early last year in the new end of Fortitude Valley, so we headed over there for a quick mid week date night after work a short while ago to try it out. Apparently the place gets fairly packed out at the end of the week, so it was quite lucky that we were able to get a table with relative ease without making a reservation. The menu was provided quickly and there were quite a selection of fresh pastas to choose from, along with some entrees and desserts.
Went here for a late weeknight dinner with the partner.
We ordered the Tortellini Valeggio and Tortelli Di Zucca. Both dishes were impeccable in terms of simplicity but fresh and well-rounded depth of flavours. The pasta was very well made and cooked al dente.
Service was efficient and friendly. The restaurant had a 'New-York' kind-of-feel, which was casual yet sophisticated. Limited seating. Reasonable prices.
Overall, new favourite Italian pasta gurus in Brisbane!
I crave pasta more than I care to admit. Thankfully for my waistline, Brisbane has been lacking in an Italian pasta joint at mid-range prices for quite some time. Ripiena in Fortitude Valley to the rescue!! Hands down some of the best pasta I have ever had in Australia, if not the best!!. So, we missed International Pasta Day last week – idiots. One of the best days of the year – silly. Being the carb lovers we are, we decided since we had missed it we would simply postpone it a few days – logical.
I had a craving for a particular pasta that is famous and well known in the Veneto region. It’s a duck ragu that I cannot get out of my mind every time I travel to Italy. You couldn’t imagine my excitement when I found it on the menu of this restaurant!! I rushed down there so quickly to discover they also make the pasta fresh and on site in front of your very own eyes by the talented team here at Ripiena! There was so much to choose from but I stuck with the Duck ragu and to my delight it was better or just about equal to the dish I crave from Italy!! This place is proper Italian! If you’re serious about pasta then Ripiena is the only destination you need to know!
Finally decided to stop by here after walking past it a few times. Handmade pasta cannot get any better than this, and it was even more awesome watching it made in front of you. Great place for authentic &fresh handmade pasta.
Delicious house made authentic Italian pastas. Simple and done well. Highly recommended. They also have some quirky Italian soft drinks. The were also delicious. Must try!
One of the best pasta ive ever had in Australia. Its.obvious that the owner cooked with his heart, everything.was made fresh, pasta were all handmade very simple but that is what its all about. The wines were fantastic as well hughly recommend it. Must must must try!
Came here after spotting this slick little restaurant last week by accident. The menu is concise and made up of fresh pastas, two sides and a couple of desserts.
We started with Prosecco while perusing the menu.
Making a decision was not easy as every item sounded great. I chose a linguine style pasta with basil and Passats. My friend decided on herb filled pasta with a walnut sauce. More Prosecco to accompany our meals and our dinner was complete.
I feel maybe a few warm sides- such as vegetables might be a good addition to the menu.
The pasta was beautiful and as you can see the staff making it -you know it’s fresh.
Very well priced food and relaxed atmosphere would make this a brilliant option for a family dinner.
Came here for late lunch on a Saturday and was met with wonderful friendly service. Food came out quickly and it was lovely to have a good chat about the food and the origins of each dish, as well as the ingredients that go into the dishes. Highly recommend the Tortelli de Zucca!!!
So this has been on the list for awhile now and I finally was able to stop by, also they finally finalized their menu 👌. Everything is made in house and from scratch. Proper Italian, no additives, no exceptions, just 100% authentic hand made pasta... And it's good, really good. We tried their spaghetti and tortellini, made fresh as we came in (a beautiful show if you catch it). The tortellini was filled with pork loin, Prosciutto crudo, mortadella, parmigiana, reggiano, egg, salt, and nutmeg... Then wrapped in their egg pasta and served with butter, sage, and grated parmigiana reggiano.
My partner took me here for my birthday lunch last April and i was absolutely blown away. (Sorry it's taken a while to leave this review)
We loved everything from the wine, the mixed board, and the pasta dishes. We both work as chefs and appreciate passionately made food. We will definitely be back for more— with family and friends ♥️

We had made an online booking for dining in on a Thursday night. Upon arrival, we were promptly acknowledged and directed to our table.
The starter and pasta menus were truly unique for an Italian restaurant in Brisbane. The staff were very happy to chat about the dishes, the sourcing of the ingredients and the thought process behind it all. The customer service at Ripiena is exceptional.
We started with the buratta and prosciutto. They had just run out of bread, and discussed options with us for an alternative prior to serving it. Both of these were really good, and combination of the two was amazing.
We ordered the Gorgonzola and Cacio Pepe as our mains. I love the taste of Gorgonzola, and I was excited to find it in a pasta dish. Both dishes showcased a unique combination of different aromas, flavours and textures.
We were both full after our meals, and decided to skip on dessert. I really want to try the tiramisu, so hoping to return again sometime soon. I would definitely recommend making a reservation prior to your visit.
A bit of a cold atmosphere but genuinely the best pasta I have ever had in Brisbane. Simple meals but done to perfection, clearly they care incredibly about the fundamentals. The wine list was also fantastic with very knowledgeable staff. Service was quick and efficient and not too pushy. And to top it all off the price was much lower than expected.
An intimate dining space with authentic Italian food. Chefs are amazing and Italian culinary experts cooking traditional Italian way and also explaining nuances of pasta making to novices like me. Did you know pesto doesn't only mean the green pesto sauce but any authentic sauce prepared, with a mortar and pestle.
Highly recommend this place.
Really quite an awesome place! The pasta is really really good (what's better than freshly made pasta) but the Italian wine list could actually be better.
The cacio e pepe and the pansotti were both the bomb, as was the 'made to order' tiramisu. The Acinatico volpolicella ripasso was also delicious.
Can't wait to come back to try more of their pasta dishes and wine!
Yummmyy! I love everything! The service and vibe was great! The food didn’t take long to come out and I would definitely come here to get my Italian fix. So goooddd.

As an Italian, there are not many places where I (or members of my family) would choose to order a pasta, but this is our go-to pasta spot!
Very reasonably priced. Great atmosphere (although music can be a little loud if you're hard of hearing like me). Fantastic food!
80% of the time I order Tortellini Di Bologna because it's such a winner, but there are so many great options and always delicious specials, too. I try to always go for dinner as the lunch menu has limited options.

We had Negroni and Montenegroni for drinks which were so nice especially montenegroni has sweet and rich flavours.
We had truffled burrata with Mortadella(pork fat). I’ve never had this dish before. It has rich and savory flavors. I’ll definitely have this one again!
Also pasta were so nice. Was so creamy but also has various flavors!
Atmosphere is cozy. Not really big hall but still has good mood🙂
