Really liked the house sausage pizza. However the i always get extra sausage cause the normal amount isn’t much. The cheese pizza was great. Never thought I’d like blue cheese but damn it was good. I added truffle and roasted mushrooms on that as well. The broccoli salad was okay but I think there was too much almond cream so it made it kinda heavy. I really liked the house made salami and pickles. Tiramisù was also good but serving size pretty small, I’m assuming the price was because of the liquor used in it.
4.5. A great space and very friendly staff. One of the better pizzas I've had in a while and definitely one of the best this side of town. The garlic bread was epic. We weren't expecting it as a pizza. It was fluffy with loads of flavour and the chilli flavoured cheese on the side was great. We shared the house sausage and pepperoni pizzas which were delicious (especially the pepperoni). Will be back with family and friends. Highly recommend.
Decided on trying this place for a pizza and it didnt disappoint. Had the pepperoni - the bbq sauce had a lovely Smokey flavour to it, and thought the base was also very tasty. What also impressed was that I ordered takeaway and the pizza was ready in less than 10 minutes despite it being a busy Saturday night.
Amazing wood fired pizza and rosemary herb focacia, simple, rustic and unpretend. Could have been 5 out of 5 but the pasta beef ragu with crunchy bits that I always order was taken off the menu and not flexible with pasta substitute. Oh well, wood fired pizza and a pint of pale ale is good enough for me. I totally enjoyed coming back here, especially in winter when you’re seated near the brick oven, The atmosphere is relaxed, crew are attentive and it’s a joy to dine. The highlight for me are the pizza and focacia. Pasta selection would personally skip them, Saltimboca was OK but really tiny. Would keep coming back for sure.
Lovely staff, the gorgeous old school diner fit out that suits the space so well and the food is to die for. Glad this is my local!

We had 40 minutes to fill in before our dinner elsewhere so called into Harley & Rose. We had visited and dined in previously and loved the experience but today were just after a drink or two outside. We couldn’t just order drinks at the bar as was table service which did delay us and our consumption by about 15 minutes all up. Good quality wine by the glass and a interesting beer list.... although I had a pint of 2 birds which I’ve always enjoyed. We were there during happy hour but didn’t seem to get any discount on what we ordered so should have asked what was on the happy hour menu as this wasn’t listed anywhere. Service seemed a little bit clunkier than our last visit but I still highly rate this venue.

We ventured out to West Footscray tonight to catch up with friends at Harley & Rose. We saw this venue on a recent episode of Movable Feast and it looked tasty and like somewhere we needed to try.
It was a cool night but warm inside especially positioned in close proximity the the woodfire pizza oven. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and suggesting drinks and olives while we waited for our friends to arrive. The olives where lovely and plump, super juicy and slightly smokey.
Some really interesting menu items tonight. We started with the Gorgonzola croquettes which were little cheesy flavour bombs, a great crunchy texture on the outside without compromising the cheese texture on the inside.
Being in viewing distance of the pizza oven, we just had to have pizzas. We had the Margherita & the Neapolitan, these were delicious and thin but very flavoursome in a true Italian style. The crusts were perfectly bubbly with a lovely chew, we all thoroughly enjoyed them. We also shared the chicken schnitzel, this large succulent schnitz was served on a delicious bed of mash with some tasty chicken gravy. KD has declared it was the best schnitz she has ever had. The schnitz was lovely and thick, it kept the chicken super moist and the crumb nicely herbed up. It was just sooooo damn tasty.
We also partook in the desserts, two of us ordered the gelato, delivered as one scoop of lemon meringue pie and one scoop of coconut per serve and two opted for the chocolate fudge (with an extra surprise of a little coffee liquor poured over the top). Both desserts where magnificent, it was like a game of hungry hungry hippos as spoons flew left and right to sample all the flavours and once tasted, kept going back for more until the plates were scrapped clean.
A fun night out.
Amazing, amazing pizza. The pippie pizza was so good & simply smothered in delicious caramelised onions (which is weirdly not listed as an ingredient in the menu?). We also tried desserts & my husband loved the tiramisu although I was sad to find so many sultanas in my Apple crumble dish (I hate them unfortunately!). We’re definitely planning on coming back for their Weds night special & daily happy hour 4-6pm. One thing to note was that is extremely family friendly, we went for a date night & literally every other table had at least one small child on it & the restaurant was quite full. It may become more adults only later in the night though as we dined early? It didn’t bother us but was a bit unusual as you wouldn’t imagine it would be full of children & so worth noting.
Been here a few times with kids. They have a great happy hour special at 4pm where pizza is $15. Beautiful dough and gorgeous pizzas. Will be back for sure when in the neighbourhood.

The journey to the west (West Footscray, or fondly known as WeFo) is all worth it if I could have that Apple crumble and Quattro Formaggi pizza again.

Taste ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - we had the feed me menu, which was a good introduction to how great the food is here. H&R’s starters, mains and desserts were consistently good. The dishes that I would highly recommend are:
✅ beetroot and lentil salad - any feta and beetroot combo is magic to my tastebuds
✅ Quattro formaggi pizza - combination of scarmorza and gorgonzola (Italian blue cheese) worked really well.
✅ wood roast kingfish - small in size but full of flavour
✅✅✅ the apple crumble was just divine. There was a good balance of cinnamon, Apple and sprinkled biscuit crumbs!
🆗 one of the spicy pizzas (sorry, didn’t catch the name) was not for the faint hearted!

Fabulous fresh and tasty food in an inviting space. Friendly service and a good range of drinks available.
Friendly staff. There was a little wait for the food but that's because they were busy. The pasta was good but I didn't enjoy my pizza. I'd go again and order something else. The bathroom is very interesting. Reds lights... felt like I was in a horror movie, but I made it out alive.
The best gluten free pizza in Melbourne. First time we ordered for take away we had to call them after the first bite as we thought they had made a mistake - but no, simply the best gluten free pizza base we have found anywhere in the world (Prague has the next best, but delivery would be a shocker)
Whilst it is not a dedicated gluten free joint, as some one with Coeliac disease I have never had any issues at all.
Staff are very understanding and accommodating- lucky to have a great family friendly joint so close to home.
Good pizza and pasta. Surprised by how much we liked their pasta considering pizza dominates their menu.
Nice and quaint place on Barkley St. Lovely the amaretto cocktail! Pizzas I feel have been better before, this time they were very thin. But nevertheless nice. Hot chips good. Love their tiramisu have ordered this so many times. Front and back outdoor dining options.
Not only are the guys at Harley and Rose absolute legends, but the food is bloody tip top too!
We had a 40th birthday lunch celebration in the green room. The service was fantastic, the room was beautifully set, there was plenty of drinks flowing and so much delicious food. Staff were super accommodating, everything went smoothly and we had a fantastic time.
Thanks for the good times Harley and Rose - always a favourite of ours.
