Being in the area for lunch we popped into the bakery for a take home muffin for a sweet treat having been long term fans of their offerings. The blueberry muffin was fresh and generously filled with fruit. Absolutely delicious
On the way to work desperately needed a coffee. Stopped off here and managed to get a coffee and head back on the road in no time. Coffee was made quickly and it was good. Middle roasted and a had a sweet taste to it. Will definitely come here for another coffee.
Have been coming here for over 8 years on and off, and seen a couple of different owners. Coffee is consistent and Strong. Muffins are some of the best I've had, always fresh and generous. Staff are friendly and helpful and it's unpretentious. My girls enjoy fresh squeezed juice and a sausage roll.
Consistently great coffee and friendly service. Food is also really good, I find it hard to pass up the noisette Danishes. Open early so i can sneak in the before work coffee. Gold! A favourite local for me.
Solid local cafe.
Good without been exceptional.
Limited cooked lunch options.
Cakes hit and miss except cheesecake- exceptional
Service a little inattentive.
Skip this and go to Crabapple up the road.
Getting better ....
It was attractive with mediocre service and average food, apart from their rustic bakery products.
It has gone better now.
Went there during the christmas holidays and absolutely loved this gem of a place. Went there for a table for 2 and was seated straight away. For drinks I had the iced coffee and my sister had a ginger and carrot juice. Both were nice but I preferred my caffeine as I haven't had one in the morning. For breakfast we had the baghdad eggs and the basil avocado smash. I enjoyed my baghdad eggs. I especially loved the bread they served which was like a roti pan fried in chilli butter. It was nice and chewy yet crispy. On the other hand, my sister was left a bit disappointed as there was barely any basil flavour in her dish, which turned her breakfast into something a bit too ordinary. She had a taste of mine and absolutely loved it. I'll definitley give this place a try again and try something else, maybe the matcha latte:)
P.S. if you bring your car it's better to get there after 10.30 as parking restrictions end at 10.30am and we got there at 9.30am just wondering the spots as it was permit parking or just an hour spots which we wouldn't have been enough.
My local, I love it, they always make my Chai latte extra hot, just as I like it. A lot of places don't. Please don't ever leave Glenferrie.
Usually pop in to Chapel Bakery for a coffee or light snack so I can't really judge them on their main dishes. Very cosy and popular cafe. I'm a fan of the backyard area especially in the warmer weather. Just a nice relaxing venue. From memory they have a tasty New York Cheesecake but on last occasion I just has a toasted focaccia.
Squeezed into this cozy cafe on busy Glenferrie Road for brunch on Sunday morning.
Matcha latte was definitely too sweet and traces of Matcha were extremely minimal.
Food took longer than expected to arrive.
Mushroom bruschetta tasted okay.
Staff were lovely and apologetic for the long wait.
Breakfast burger is the BEST in town! Friendly staffs, great coffee.
We are regular customers at Chapel and look forward to the brilliant coffee, great food and exceptional service. The ambience is perfect. The menu is updated seasonally with innovative fresh tastes. The staff are attentive and responsive. The cafe has a good balance between the rear courtyard, the main indoors and street seating - and caters for a range of patrons. We think it's the best.
Drinks are always good and the sandwiches in the counter are delicious.
Dined in today though and had the special, french toast with banana, and... Honestly, it was the extremely skimpy for the price. For $12.50 you got two small pieces of toast, a small scoop of ice cream and a grand total of four slices of banana. I understand there's always a mark up but this felt extremely stingy. My friend's breakfast burger was also pretty skimped on for filling.
Love you, Chapel, but you're slipping. Your dine in door used to be great.
Best coffee on Glenferrie! Jay and the crew are amazing. If you haven't stopped by, give it a try, you won't be disappointed!
The staff are all fantastic and know you like your family with what you eat to drink. The food is absolutely tastes great and adaptiable to changes to suit. Love the coffee and food..😊😊😊
