Cheap and cheerful just about sums it up. Nice food in a very casual atmosphere. We love trying the entrees and are working our way through the menu
Excellent food.
We ordered vegetarian spring rolls which were good, then an eggplant dish and a whole fried fish. The eggplant was good and the fish was sensational.

The vegi dumplings strongly recommended. Other dishes might be good but it's depends on chef's mood. The flavor is changeable, so it might be good or not.
This place is not fancy nor is it about great service; it's just simply delicious dumplings.
As a vegetarian who is allergic to onion (everything in the onion family) I find it particularly hard to find something I can order from Chinese cuisine but the Hu's Special Vegetarian Dumplings, really are special. So special, I have them way too often.
Whilst shopping in Malvern recently, we decided to try Hu’s for lunch. As it was right on the end of lunchtime, we were fortunate to get in, and the restaurant was uncustomarily quiet.
We both enjoyed the experience, absolutely nothing wrong with the restaurant and we found the food more than adequate for our needs.
Realistically, we only wanted a quick lunch, and as such chose Spring Rolls for a shared entree. These were your typical spring rolls but perhaps just a little better in quality than the normal spring rolls you are served in some Chinese restaurants. Nothing wrong with them, crisp, hot and delicious.
Carole chose Honey Chicken for her main course. It too, was very pleasant indeed, we both shared it so I can certainly qualify Carole’ s comments it was excellent. It was simply good Chinese food.
On the other hand, I chose Spiced Salt Squid which was equally as good. Could not fault its quality - there were plenty of spices in it to make it a meal I really enjoyed.
There is a very extensive menu, complete with dumplings, which we did not get to try it this time but would like to go back and try some later.
The wine list is very typically that expected in a medium price range Chinese restaurant. An adequate selection from which Carole enjoyed a Windy Peak Pinot Grigi, which was cool, crisp and well suited to her honey chicken.
Table service was good, although it is very hard to judge as we were one of only a couple of tables left in the restaurant. However based on the experience we had, there was no problem.
The ambience was really good. The decor was very pleasant and very typically traditional Chinese culture with a lot of red and gold. The murals on the wall made it all very inviting, the tables and chairs were extremely comfortable and a welcome change from some of the chairs and tables you are provided with in most restaurants. A pleasant change. There was adequate spacing between tables within the restaurant so as you were not sitting on your neighbours laps.
As far as value for money goes, it is normal for a mid-range restaurant, or a good quality lunch.
Very want to go back again. The food tastes good, quantity is very big also have the feeling of home, mom's delicious than homemade dumplings to eat next time.
Friendly service with a smile. The pork & prawn steamed dumplings taste great and you can even buy them frozen to take home too! A large aelection if dishes with photos and spice indicators so you know what to expect. You won't be disappointed.
Delicious food. As the name says, I think it's the pies and dumplings that this resaurant is about. I haven't tried many of the main menu dishes yet apart from the vegatables, but this is mainly because I can't go past the pies and dumplings. The chicken & and prawn pie is my favourite, followed closely by the beef & onion pie. This restaurant is also good for kids because there are lots of tastly little things for them to try. Service is ok but nothing special and the prices are pretty reasonable. I'll keep going back.
Homely, yummy food. Nice atmosphere, good food and service - the sweet and sour fish was especially delicious!
A place for cheap, homely chinese food. Good portions, reasonable prices, and most importantly for a low end chinese restaurant - is clean and hygenic. I had a dry sauce noodle dish, which was filling and flavoursome. Not too oily. Fresh. Recommend heartily. Also, ask for some chilli oil; I was pleasanty surprised as it seemed freshly fried, fragrant and spicy. Terrific with the noodles.
