Great place, great atmosphere and amazing interior. Staff were friendly and great deal for $35 per head for our birthday group and they made it easy to pay and organise. Very accomodating... definitely be back and highly recommend to anyone who is looking for decent mexican with an awesome vibe.
Second visit to Fonda and it didn't disappoint. Food is so fresh and light and the service is fast and always with a smile. The staff are all so happy - it must be a good workplace!
Went here on Saturday with 4 people and the food was amazing! I got the beef brisket burrito and loved every bite, so crunchy with tortilla chips inside it I think and extremely juicy brisket meat!
The place is so trendy and cool!
Gotta check this place out 5 stars plus!!!!!

Crispy quesadilla skin. Love it!
GREAT PLACE
Ate dinner here with my wife and 2 teenage daughters. The staff are extremely professional, welcoming and efficient. Food is super tasty and fresh. Drinks and vibe are excellent. Prices are very reasonable also. Overall the owners have nailed it. Will be back again and again.
This place is great! Got the grilled chicken burrito and omg! It was huge and pack full of fillings. The charred corn, quinoa, corn chips bits, etc made it taste so so good! Not the usual boring burrito fillings - one of the best burritos around.
The price was a bit steep at $16 ish.
Delicious Mexican food with lots & lots of gluten free and vegan options to choose from! We love the delicious salad bowls which are full of everything healthy & Mexican inspired. Most of the tacos are gluten free & the are delicious! They can also make the empanadas gluten free & the sweet potato flavour is also vegan and is absolutely delicious! We love coming to Fonda for the food, lovely staff and great ambiance!
I'm not normally a fan of Mexican food but boy Fonda has changed my mind. Best tasting Mexican food around. Have returned twice for their chicken quesadillas and crispy prawn tacos, absolutely delish!
Love the drinks, the prawn tacos r my fav !!!! Even the chips are perfect.
Needed to get a drink at some point when there was a massive queue n the waitress offered to get it for me with my card, loved that.
❤️ Definitely gonna come back to try more stuff !
Why have we not had Fonda before?! We would always see the busy restaurants and long lines, so today decided to try it out for lunch. Seated promptly in an ambient, and busy restaurant we were quick to be served by the friendly staff.
We ordered a chicken burrito and chicken quesadilla between two, and it was fantastic. The quesadilla was our favourite, a very cheesy, saucy and tender meat served with a gorgeous avocado esque sauce. This was one of the best quesadillas we've had! The chicken burrito was also generous in sizing, albeit not as much meat as the quesadilla, however still tasted very fresh with a good mix of ingredients.
Great Mexican food, good value and great ambience, highly recommended!

Our second time back to this place.
Food - Highly recommend the charred corn, absolutely delicious and packed with flavours. The bowl of chipotle chips was just so-so. Both the herbed mushroom and grilled chicken quesadilla were really yummy.
Service - friendly and efficient and pretty attentive. But when we visited, it wasn't very busy so I'm not sure if it would be the same or worse during busier times.
Price - decently priced. We left feeling very full.
The only downside is the location of this place which is slightly out of the way but will come back again if ever craving for no-fuss and yummy Mexican food.
Nachos were good, not amazing. The Tortillas were mixed and were nice. | Zucchini chips had good batter and not too oily | Just FYI, they don’t sell coffee
Overall had a decent experience at Fonda Mexican at Flinders Lane! The restaurant itself was really cool and unique! The venue is in a cool and interesting location! The ascetics of the place was really cool! The food was delicious aswel! We had 4 cocktails all of which where delicious, 2 tacos (chicken & pork) and the chicken and pork quesadillas plus the nachos! The food tasted fresh and delicious! The only reason I didn’t give Fonda Mexican a 5 star review was because of the service! I found the service to be underwhelming and not the nicest! At best it was bare minimum! No smiles sadly! Otherwise the food was delicious and it was a fun night out! :) 4/5 stars from me :)
The four of us had lunch here mid-week. Overall a good experience, efficient service and good vibes.
Could have a been a five star rating if it wasn’t for a few minor things.
The good: sharing plates were great, we had the sweet potato chips and nachos, both were fresh, crunchy and well spiced.
For mains we had the bim-bap bowl which is a nice take on the Korean version, and then the fish, prawn and beef tacos, all were good and well executed.
The margaritas where as expected too, maybe slightly to sweet but nothing major.
The not-so-good:
The fried cauliflower we had for starters was a bit disappointing generally and more specifically a few pieces were frozen throughout. I understand not all dishes can be cooked fresh, but at least make sure they’re cooked all the way.
Other than that a few hot sauces on the side and more authentic Mexican flavours wouldn’t go amiss.
Fonda has been a go-to of mine for years. They are super reliable and reasonably priced. The gluten-free and vegan options are abundant which is always amazing. The food and cocktails are delicious and the service is almost always great. I’ll definitely keep coming back here.
Nice enough food. 6 items cost $98, so not the cheapest food chain. The burrito bowls have a nice twist with crisp chick peas. Staff were very friendly.
The restaurant has an interesting layout with an open kitchen, which I actually thought was cool. You order food from the QR code in the tables which was a cool idea but made modifications a little more difficult. The food was delicious. The service was very friendly but a little inconsistent on wait time but if you’re in good company it will be fine. I recommend Fonda. Get the Chicken Nachos!
Great place for work lunches/dinners. Nice seating available.
I got the lunch set menu and a fish taco. The fish taco is very fresh but lacks a bit of flavour. The pulled pork quesadilla is amazing with the sauce.
