Excellent beef ribs it is so tender n juicy, very authentic taste. Soto betawi was perfect just enough creaminess yet so generous with the toppings! My 7yo really loves the grilled chicken n rice! Went here for few times and never disappoints us! Recommend!�

We don't usually venture out to this end of town but having heard good things about Kedai Satay, we decided to make the trip. Boy, it was definitely worth it!
We had:
Nasi kuning balado with eggs, tofu and potatoes. This was delicious and had a terrific spicy kick to it.
Grilled lamb ribs on white rice. For 50 cents extra, you get yellow rice, a must! The yellow rice was just scrumptious while the grilled lamb was tender and fell off the bone. The sambal was spicy.
Chendol was amazingly sweet and satisfying.
Service was friendly and prices were very reasonable. The place had a nice ambience. We will definitely be back.
Before we decided to come we were talking about ribs being $40 everywhere you go but this place is something else. The lamb ribs just fell off the bone and were tender and juicy. The chicken satay skewers were also tender which is awesome because it’s always dry at other places. It’s super cheap as well and the coconut rice was actually coconuty. Also a can of soft drink is $2.5 which is pretty cheap. The only bad thing I would say which isn’t really a bad thing because it’ll happen everywhere you go is that the beef and lamb were a little bit fatty.

a really place to go to for a quick lunch. They have many rice dishes you can choose from. I had the beef ribs on rice and was impressed. There is quite a generous amount of meat, flavourful and delicious.
Great flavors! Beef in the soup was a bit cold, lamb ribs lost the lamb flavor otherwise I would give 5 stars.
I have been dining at this restaurant for several years and their standard has not dropped since my first visit!
I would recommend their yellow rice as it is flavourful and fragrant. Beef ribs - tender and well marinated. Grilled chicken - perfectly cooked with tenderness. The sauces are great too.

Service was quick, friendly and professional for a Friday afternoon after the lunch time rush. Indonesian style cuisine grill venue so bear that in mind if your first time venturing into this establishment with the difference in flavours from your usual western bbq grill.
I've tried both the beef and lamb and both are great. Cooked tender with an Indonesian style peanut sauce, salad and chilli sauce on the side.
Try the yellow rice if you are carbohydrate inclined....
Always return to this place from time to time and always, delicious with quick, friendly service.
Being a Southeast asian, I couldn't find any reason not to love this place! It's a very cosy restaurant, don't expect any nice interior. The service is really good, everyone there was super polite with all smiles.
The menu has a pretty good variety, i think it fits everyone, even those not from an asian background. It has a pretty good portion eith reasonable price. I had the ayam penyet with tempe, the kremes was super crunchy and the sambal was up to my standard! Pretty spicy but really savoury. I also had the chicken satay (skewers) and I have to admit it's one of the best I've ever had in Melbourne!
Would definitely come back for a second visit again.
I love their food!!! Tasty, delicious and authentic Indonesian food that leaves you craving for the next bite! Well charred on the outside yet succulent on the inside, their meats are all cooked to tender perfection.
Love the food at this place and I quite often opt this for the lunchtime meals. I specifically love their Gado gado topped with grilled chicken. Other than that their pork/lamb ribs are also very nice. Apart from these you can pretty much have anything and it will be good.
Prices are average and they have two levels of seating space. it is quite busy at peak times.
Great Indonesian satays for those Indo cravings! The chicken satays are a must try. With delicious peanut sauce, it definitely hits the spot - although it could be thicker, robust and more ooomph for those peanut lovers. Personally also love the pempek! One of the best Indo restaurants in the city!
Lamb ribs and grilled barramundi are amazing~the chili sauce they put on the barramundi dish is so amazing too! Too spicy for me, but I can't get enough of it! The venue is nicely presented and service is super friendly 😁
Dropped by for lunch and I wasn’t disappointed. There is a large variety of food available for you to choose. Place is crowded during lunch but order taking and food was served very swiftly. Food quality is very authentic based on what I have had previously. Would definitely be back or bring friends here if I’m back in Melbourne.
The beef ribs with yellow rice is amazing. Highly recommended, the meats so tender with nice char flavoured, rice cooked perfectly and not over seasoned! Excellent dish. Can’t understand why they’re not that busy.
Casual dining with highlight of the location being yummy food. Ordered beef ribs to share and it was a delight. Meet falling off the bone along with spicy chilli 🌶 sauce. Can be bundled with rice to complete a meal.

Seems like Kedai Satay is the only one (as far as I know) which sells Tahu Gejrot (smashed tofu) that I have been missing soooo much! The sweet, savory & vinegary flavors really hit home for me 🇮🇩
Of course I can’t have just that, I needed to get some juicy fried chicken with yellow rice too AND eat it with hand! (I know I know so very Indo of me 😂)
Funny thing is we went there to try their satay but they actually ran out! So we plan to go back sometime soon or get deliveries so we can finally try their well-known satay 🍢
