We got a cudo voucher for this place. Wow, wow and double wow.
Service, fantastic. All done with a smile and nothing is to much trouble! However my daughter asked for tomato sauce and the waiter told her she would have to wash the dishes... All done with a laugh (my daughter is 14)
Food, fantastic, come with a hungry appetite! They don't skimp on size or quality.
Beer, fresh, ice cold
Couldn't fault anything will definitely be back and would gladly recommend
Amazing food , amazing service, we will definitely be back .Best lamb shanks & home made wild mushroom gnocchi, calamari was to die for .
Good food great service really like the atmosphere will be back
My friend and I had a pre dinner drink here, what appealed to me when I walked past was the atmosphere inside. There were plenty of people inside enjoying a drink, the layout of the pub is really nice with a beautiful bar.
Staff were great, very helpful as I wanted to sample a couple of the tap beers. There was a great selection of tap beers, I ended up going for the Byron Bay Brewery Pale Lager. I haven't had this before and it went down a treat, even better when it is happy hour and $6 a pint - yes please!
A great local to stop by and enjoy a drink or two.
Really delish food! Have been here twice... recommend the calamari, parmigiana and steak!Would come back again. Used a groupon but prices are still reasonable
So pleasantly surprised with this place. The food was cooked really well. The protein mains we had (chicken and salmon) were cooked perfectly. The sides and purées were well coordinated and tasty additions. The entrees were again, cooked well (calamari soft and ribs, even softer and fell off the bone). The service was mediocre, but food made up for any shortcomings. Will be back for more!
We walked more than a km to find this gem of a place and let me tell you it was the worth the long walk. The ambiance of the place ain’t that good but the food was so amazing. The best dish was the lamb shank.
A good, friendly local pub. Wednesday nights mean trivia (starts around 8 pm) and it’s fun for all.
The menu isn’t very exciting, but the parmas are fabulous. They’re big and the chicken is tender. I also love their poutine. The lamb shanks were unfortunately dry and not so flavoursome.
I’ll definitely be back! (P.S. the chicken ribs are actually wings. The jerk sauce is superb and I want it on everything.)
For those people wondering what is traditional Aussie cuisine. My answer would be find a country pub, run by its owners and proud of their menu and environment. That is exactly what I felt at the Limerick. Set up for sports days with tv screens everywhere (so don't go for a romantic meal), the food portions were enormous - and very very yummy.
It is the second time I have been. Last time was also to watch a footy game and have a Groupon special - it was fantastic, with the owner getting up from a table where he was watching the footy and helping the staff when they got overloaded. That time there was an open fire. This time it was too warm for a fire.
Love it as a close to CBD example of traditional Aussie pub warmth with fantastic value food options (in the bathroom there was an advertisement for a Monday special: steak, salad, fries and a wine for $7 . . .. sounds crazy). The downside, is my stomach will take a good 24 hours to recover.
Great atmosphere, at the table me of visit... dining area had a bunch of kids running a muck haha they even tried going into the kitchen haha
Anywayz rump steak was very good chargrilled and the entrees had a good selection. The salmon was excellent as well. Bit salty but gooooood! Took awhile to debate which entree to get!! As all were soooo tempting!! Ended up with the calamari and chicken ribs! Thought we did well until I saw the next tables entrees!! Foood envy!! They had the lamb ribs!! Oh maaaan just watching the chubby dude tuck in like there was no tomorrow....
Would definitely come back again if in the area.
I have been here twice and both times the Limerick Arms Hotel has been delicious. The first time that we went, I had the steak and my boyfriend had the parma. He enjoyed the parma but my steak was so good that the second time we visited we both had the steak. We also really enjoyed the poutine.
The staff are friendly. The atmosphere is okay - it would be good if they lit the fire or had some music playing or something to make it a little more comfortable.
Staff were so friendly and accommodating. We came with a groupon booking for lunch. The entrée ribs, calamari and wings were the favourites but everything was delicious and prompt. We swapped one entrée for a salad with some magic salad dressing it was herby and delicious! Steaks were good but not great but sticky date pudding dessert was delicious! I'd come again for the entrées alone!
Was pleasantly surprised with the good food. Reasonable considering serving size. 💓
The slow cooked lamb chops was $15 for 5 sticks which is great value. ☺️ The calamari was also yuuuum! Of course, parma, you cannot get this wrong, right? So, if you’re in South Melb, give it a go.
P.S the service was also great. 😊
Steve and his crew are fantastic and the Limerick is a great corner pub. Quick friendly service, great menu, tasty food offerings and a fine selection of beer taps!!
Friendly staff, decent pub food. Well air-conditioned and nice decor inside. The only girl on the floor behind the bar was flat chat but was apologetic about the delays and we received our food pretty quickly.
Great pub! Visited on St Patrick’s Day; live music; Guinness and Kilkenny on tap; wonderful lunch; efficient, friendly and ever smiling staff. Have visited many times but St Paddy’s Day was special. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a good time.
What a comfy pub. We had a late lunch here on a Wednesday in early January, I think it was about 3pm and they had no problems serving us meals at that time of day. Really good pub food. Great beer selections. Happy, friendly staff. My partner was happy because they had the cricket on their screens ;)
