We really enjoy visiting the transport hotel. The rooftop area is fantastic… its almost always buzzing with locals and travellers. Great food, drinks and views. There usually a bit of live music to enjoy over the weekend which is an added bonus.
Transport Bar, which is bang opposite to Flinders Station, situated on the Federation Square, scores high on the Vibe, Chick Decor, Happy Attendants, Good Choices of Drinks and A very accommodating Chef who managed to grill the Pizzas perfectly crisp, as requested by us on a Busy Friday evening.
Our two cents on Pizzas: Decent!! (Nothing out of this world)
We totally LOVED it.
Came here for dinner to catch up with a friend, we had a pizza to share and some beer, such a nice place. Next time we will sit outside and enjoy the view!
Until 15 March 2019, Club Aperol will be popping up at the Transport Hotel located in Melbourne’s Federation Square. Expect to enjoy one of Melbourne’s best dining venues over $12 Aperol Spritz every day! For an amazing Sunday Session, you can grab your friends, enjoy a 2x Aperol Spritz + Charcuterie Board for $40 served from our Aperol Spritz pop up cart.
I ordered the tandoori chicken pizza. I was skeptical they could pull it off, but they did and I loved it: subtle spice; succulent, tasty chicken; soft, creamy potatoes. My only suggestion would be to drizzle some of the complimentary Sriracha sauce on it to give it more kick.
I also ordered a bowl of chips, which were perfect – temperature, saltiness, crispiness.
The friendly, easygoing staff staff, and the sunny, not-overly-loud ambience completed a very pleasant experience.
I picked one of their stone-fired pizzas. The ‘Napoli, mozzarella, ham, mushroom, artichoke, olive ($13.00)’ pizza was the perfect size for one person. The base was thin and crispy and the artichokes were succulent.
Great selection of meals and drinks. Enjoyed the chicken Parma topped with bacon, chips were a bit too soft and loved the tandoori chicken pizza just the right amount of spice. Free wi fi. Bright airy space. Quick service
Delicious and quick pub grub. The sardines were amazing. My only criticism would be the cost of food and drinks is probably a bit on the steep side considering how casual the atmosphere is.
Gosh I haven't been here in ages! Popped in for a pre drink as had dinner booked across at Chocolate Buddha. Transport has a mix of people and last night had typical Fri night after work crowd. Good mix of tap beers and there was happy hour on wine. I haven't had a beer in such a long time so had the Kirin on tap and it was refreshing. Location is great being opposite Flinders station and the pub is a good size with heaps of space and great city views.
Stopped by on the way to watch the mighty Pies light up the MCG. Very tasty and fresh food. Place was packed as well which is always a good sign. Will be back!
Great atmosphere. Majority of the staff were joyful and happy to serve you food and drinks. Nice decor near the music stage and sun streamed in of a late arvo and evening. Live music throughout the evenings. I ordered the nachos and the loaded fries and a cocktail on two seperate nights. The portion could feed two people and was lacking salad or vegetables unfortunately. I walked out feeling stuffed because I love food! But a healthy balance would be a great approach for the future. I did order a salad seperstly but did take food home as l couldn't finish it. Thanks for a great time!!
I have been here many times, day and night. Always something on there and easy to get in as it’s for all ages. Can get busy at the bar but now has table order service. I like the pub food and like the dedicated glassware. They have live music on regularly which is great for a lazy Saturday or Sunday session.
The pastrami roll with sauerkraut was good, and location is very convenient for after-work drinks before catching the train home.
Wow, had an amazing meal and Bloody Mary here at transport. Food was excellent, couldn’t wait to photograph. Bloody Mary on the other hand earned the place on my camera roll.. 10/10 Bibi knew what he was doing..
Wow what a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon watching the people rush through the city
