Yummy food deliver to your door during stage 4 lockdown. The portion is still big and good value for money. It’s also taste amazing.

Killiney is quite a famous brand dishing out Malaysian food but what they are mostly known is for Kopi aka Coffee and Kaya Toast, and to be honest, we haven't tried anything other than exactly that.

When we came across Killiney on our way to Elephant and the Wheel Barrow how wouldn't we try it, right?

And the Verdict? Loved it.

Although a bit different from the Malaysian food we have had , nevertheless Tasty and Inexpensive.

Vegan / Vegetarians have decent option to choose from too.

Service was quite friendly and efficient. And yes, we did order Coffee too. 🙈🙈

Pretty authentic nasi lemak with beef rendang. Was craving some confort Malaysian food and this really hit the spot. Generous serving of beef rendang and rice with all the trimmings (chilli, egg, peanuts, ikam bilis). Have to come back and try the other dishes. Also very reasonably priced.

My score 3.75 stars (a bit patchy – some dishes good and a bargain, others cheap but average). J got takeaway for dinner from here on Sat 26th Oct (late arvo). Really lovely staff, large clean interior.

Nasi Lemak A (fried fish and curry chicken $12.90) – Coconut rice was nice. Thick sambal was good, but tiny amount. Ikan bilis very good – crunchy but not fishy. Peanuts moreish. 2 small pieces of cucumber! 1 boiled egg was nice. 2 bits deep-fried whole small fish – crunchy, tasty, I ate the entire fish (J gave me the tail from hers). Was good, but would have been heaps nicer if eaten fresh in-house (I wouldn’t get takeaway fish again). 3 pieces of chicken and lots of really good curry sauce. 2 pieces were a bit light on for meat, but overall it was a generous amount and tasty. I would get the straight chicken version next time if having takeaway.

Mee Goreng Veggie and tofu ($10.50) – Was ok. Tofu puffs were nice, but not heaps of them. Not heaps of veg really either, but PLENTY of noodles.

Fried Kway Teow Seafood ($10.50) – Charry, very dark in colour. Quite thin noodles – would have preferred wider ones (texture of dish wasn’t quite right IMO). 3 prawns were a bit dry. Fishcake was nice, but cut very thinly - would have preferred thicker. A bit spicy, overall not bad.

This restaurant is an absolute treasure sitting on Bourke street and serving up large and delicious food everyday. And it’s 100% halal!! (They do serve alcohol however). I tried the nasi goreng with chicken and asked the staff to make it extra spicy, this dish was absolutely delicious and served the right amount of spice for a spice lover like myself. In addition to that, the drinks from this place are also good however some are too sweet, my personally favorite are the chai and the lychee drink. This place is really nice however some furniture is worn out and the staff can sometimes get too busy in rearranging of things while customers are sitting which makes it a bit weird but overall I absolutely loved this restaurant! Would recommend!!

Killiney Kopitiam is the lagi best place to get unique tasty Mee Pok Noodles in Melbourne.

I go there often to dig in to my heart’s content.

The sauce is delicious and the noodles are QQ. The portion is well sized and the set meal is best value for $$$. They have Bandung and other special drinks sia.

The Nasi Lemak is sumptuous too and you can add extra sambal with no charge.

The restaurant is clean and well decorated and the radio music is interestingly specific to the cuisine ethnicity.

The toilet is clean, well maintained and spacious.

It’s value for money and the staff are friendly and professional.

I give it 5 stars.

I highly recommend you to bring your family, colleagues and friends down there this week. :)

Authentic Singaporean and Malaysian dishes served in decent size with very reasonable price. One of my favourite dining places in the city. Would highly recommend to anyone who loves southeast Asian food.

The place was actually quite spacious with lots of seats. The staffs were nice, we ordered in front and then given a number. Food was pretty quick to come out.

I love the mee rebus. Tasted just like what I had back home (Medan, Indonesia). It was the perfect amount of sweet and salty, as well as the consistency of the gravy. The noodle was also cooked well, served with boiled eggs, garnished with fried shallots. Simple but really comforting.

The nasi lemak was HUGE, definitely bigger than the photo lol. The chicken was flavorful and tender, sambal was on point, anchovies and peanut weren't greasy and added great texture. The rice was good but not that fragrant and was bit drier than preferred.
Kaya butter toast was also yummmm. Their homemade kaya was famous for being good so pair it up with butter ya can't go wrong. Toast wasn't too crispy too which I enjoyed.
Barley drink was quite good, not too sweet which was great but could be more generous with the serving (especially the hot one).

Update:
It was really crowded on a tuesday noon, I had to queue to order. However my friend's nasi lemak was quick, though mine took a while.

Nonetheless hainanese chicken rice was pretty good, chicken was tender and chili sauce and sauce was okay though it lacked the gingery flavor it's supposed to have.

Another update:

Had the mee siam and it was pretty good, the noodle was bit undercooked though so it was bit hard and was bit spicy too so beware of that.

Stir fried carrot cake (sweet) was quite good in terms of flavour though the small portion is well bit scanty so maybe go for the large if you want to be full.

Also the kaya was pretty good, depending on whether you like strong coconut flavour this might not be for you cus its more eggy than usual so kinda custardish so personal preference really, i like both.

Overall a solid place for some Singaporean/ Indo/ Malay food.

( follow for more!✨)

Great authentic food. The char kuew teow, mee goreng, and clams were a particular highlight for me. This place definitely gives you hawker centre vibes and that is also reflected in the prices too which are really good value for what they offer. Would definitely go back!
