After spending 140.00 Inc BYO I thought this restaurant is well worth it. 3rd time here with my family and as always food was fantastic.
Great restaurant and excellent service. Plates are replaced, fresh wine glasses are provided between bottles, and drinks are regularly topped up. The menu is different from your usual Chinatown cantonese - no beef black bean or sweet n sour pork to be seen. Still, lots of choice although note that the descriptions are literal i.e. unless the dish says it has vegetables, it will just be a dish of meat or seafood with a sauce. Other reviewers have said the portions are too small for the price point. It's true they are smaller, but the quality is excellent so I think the price point is fair. Also, nothing is greasy - for example we tried the salt n pepper calamari and fried rice, and they were just delicious without that greasy heavy feeling these dishes sometimes have. Licensed or BYO ($10 a bottle). In the entertainment book - 25% up to $35. Really highly recommended.
Wow what a find in Franklin street that do traditional canton food. Order the three course duck meal that has the duck soup, duck fried rice and peking duck wrap. I loved it
One of the best Chinese restaurant in Melbourne. They have quite an extensive menu. Get ready to get your hands dirty cause there's no way of eating these crabs without using your hands. The tea smoked duck in the sweet and sour sauce is also swimming in flavor. The service is good and the place is clean. Although it’s definitely not the cheapest Cantonese food in town but this place worth a try.
On a raining day that was slightly cold, hubby and I decided to head to this place for our date night. We a had the 3 course Peking duck deal. Luckily I did preorder when I called up to make reservations otherwise it would have been sold out! The deal entailed 12 pieces of pecking duck pancakes with all the right trimmings, stir fried duck noodles or rice and pipping hot duck bones and tofu soup. All 3 courses were absolutely delicious! The duck slices in the pancakes were thick and juicy with the skin still slightly crispy. The soup was nourishing and hot, just what I felt like on a cool day. The noodles were a bit firm but the flavours were still nice. If anything, I would request for reduce salt on the dishes as both the noodle and soup were more on the salty side. The waitresses were very attentive and did not hesitate to add some hot water to the soup when I requested to make it less saltier.
The place was packed when we were leaving. Will definitely be returning soon to try out other dishes!
Omg this place is so delicious! We ordered 5 dishes and all of them were great. I am still slurping over the seafood beancurd dish. Soft silky tofu with little prawns in egg gravy sauce. Yum!
Love this place! Really great roast duck with rice on casual days, but their sit down speciality: chilli crabs are a must get with the fried mantous
Extensive menu. Average price for what you'd expect from a family Chinese restaurant.
Beancurd fried in duck egg was done well.
Singapore noodles had good flavour, and the right combo of everything added.
Dumplings are nice, but not the highlight. Chilli dumplings was lacking in heat.
overall. it is okay la! but not the traditional chilly crab. tasted like sweet and sour chilly crab. We ordered 3 main courses, not too bad la.
This hidden gem is located in Franklin Street away from the hustle and bustle of the restaurants in Elizabeth St. They have an extensive menu and all the dishes we ordered were nice. The star of the night was the egg white dish. This seemingly simple dish have great chewy texture and seafood flavour. Will definitely come back again!

Good mix of western and authentic chinese dishes. Dishes weren't overly salty and tastes pretty good.
Service was good. Dishes came out reasonably fast.
Delicious food! Love the pork knuckle, roast beef, egg white scramble with scallop, eggplant and minced beef! Will return!
Had Australian Rock Lobster with Crispy fried noodles. Really Fresh & had WokHei! Roast duck was good too. Reasonable place. Great service.
Not your average Cantonese restaurant! Fancy menu but definitely can match Flower Drum`s quality with less than half the price!! Serious about good Chinese dinner, this is the place!!!
